Caixina stated that Wallace will be captain for next season. Correct me if I'm wrong but i don't see him as our captain nor a natural leader. He had a terrible season also.

Think you need to remember that Lee Wallace stood by us through thick and thin and deserves 100% to be our captain

Inconsistent, not terrible. Terrible would be how you describe rob kiernans season. He's our captain and rightfully so.

Can't believe the amount of people slating Wallace, gives his all for the shirt, who would u suggest at left back?

Don't agree with the criticism towards our captain think we have missed him greatly.

He should be at the club 100% buy not as captain. Kenny is our only leader on the pitch.

Don't want to sound as if am out to get Wallace because I do understand what the man has done for this team and what he has put at risk, he will be remembered always but I think it is time to go, I don't see how he is suitable to be captain and would like to know your reasons for this? Beerman can only get better.

Don't you think there's is a reason that the new manager isn't going to keep him captain off and on the pitch he is a leader and a role model

Wallace is not a leader, sorry but a leader is someone that takes the game by the scruff of the neck then the cards are stacked against the team, someone that leads by example, a Gough, a Butcher, a Greig, where on earth does Wallace fit in to that! He is a decent quality attacking full back but he is limited defensively. Perhaps with a couple of quality centre backs alongside him and a midfield including a winger that tracks back, and he will improve. Full back, yes, leader, not in a million years.

Everyone claims Wallace isn't a leader. That may be true. But who then? Has Kenny Miller earned it? They're the only two candidates in this entire Rangers squad.

Wallace will be club captain and rightly so! doesn't mean he plays every week have to fight for his place! Same goes for miller (albeit he's had a great season ) if he is still in starting 11 then we haven't strengthened enough!

Just because he stuck with us and gives 100% doesn't make him a good captain or player. He hasn't had a good season and I would let him go if he wants to leave. He's not the future of our club. He's been a good servant, no more than that. I'm not slating him at all but he's had his best days and maybe it's time to move on

We don't currently have a proper captain or our books. We are in a worse position than we were all those years ago when David Holmes and Lawrence Marlborough brought in Souness to start the revolution.

Back then, Marlborough had a vision and brought in David Holmes; you couldn't really say that about King and whoever is running the club on a day to day basis now.

We signed players like Butcher who was captain of England and followed that up with Gough and Amoruso, before our own Barrie Ferguson was ready for the job.

All of these guys were leaders. They played by example. Took one for the team. They could motivate the players around them to give that extra 10% or 20% when needed.

In years to come we will hopefully have a home grown player of Barrie Ferguson's stature, perhaps even, in due course, the young lad we captured from Liverpool could do the job as he has done for England's youth team but for now we need to hope that three or four of the players that Pedro is looking to sign has these qualities because Wallace definitely doesn't!

Too much emphasis is put on the captain role here in Britain where as abroad its not. If you have a team guy with a winning mentality then you will be ok and that's what the current team is missing.

Lee Wallace being one of the longest serving and most loyal players at the club and also best players doesn't necessarily make you a captain but he is highly regarded by the other players and the managers over the last few years going by how they have spoken about him and how he helps the youngsters at the club. Of course you can't put him in the same category as Gough and Greig and he isn't as vocal as them maybe on the park but the way he conducts himself in my eyes is the way is the way any Rangers player should behave never mind the captain.

If he's good enough for pedro he's good enough for me, what makes u guys qualified to decide who's a good captain and who isn't? have u been in the Rangers dressing room to hear what goes on? thought not. tomusa u are a very negative man, have u nothing positive to say instead of slating our captain and our chairman?

Tails 1873, maybe I just have different standards. let's just wait and see what happens in the close season with transfers in, and out and how Wallace and the Team performs next season. I expect to win the league or at least see every player that wears Rangers colours give everything for the jersey.
