There will be no more shirt sales this season. SD were going to sue us for 5 million if we never got rid of all the stock that was lying wasting in the warehouse. Every man and there dog in Newcastle knows this!

This doesn't even make sense. What does shirt sales have to do with the potential suing by sports direct?

Because Ashley had it written into the retail contract that any unsold stock had to be bought back by the club. King didn't have the funds to do so, hence the threat of legal action from Ashley. An agreement was reached whereby king would get the rangers support to buy all of last year's stock to avoid legal action. Part of said deal involved Ashley selling his shares to allow king to pass the motion for a fresh share issue to fund this season's transfer activity. Just shows the power of the media that through them king was able to convince the bears that Ashley had suddenly developed a conscience and agreed to rip up the retail deal.

Wilson0212. I don't remember King ever coming out and saying that the new deal was because MA suddenly got a conscience. But if Ashley has sold his shares and the club are getting a vastly better deal with merchandising then really who cares what happened?

King stated himself that we would be bringing out another kit possibly 2 more, with a turnaround time of 6-8 weeks meaning a month max from now approx.
We kept home kit due to having to register a top for European competition for this season and due to striking agreement with Ashley and SD too late on to bring out a new home kit to register in time.
We had 1 additional year of Puma deal and felt we owed them a bit of loyalty after being stuck in the middle of the Dispute between us and SD which obviously adversely affected their income. We also announced extension of 32Red deal a short time before the case was settled so keeping existing kit makes most sense but mark my words a new kit is on the way.

the away kit will be a 2year kit with an extensive training range.

to go in hand with a new home kit for next season as they both will run together for the 18/ 19 season and revert back to yearly.

3rd kit will be re'evaluated at end of season
plus redbull will be part of a new sponsorship for the club, will be the official drink of the team. etc
the way chelsea has carabao. also know someone who works with them and they confirmed to be setting up on matchday for selling cans etc

also has anyone heard anything about the food areas if they will be getting updated/ renewed?

listen to yourselves guys if the fat rat had any chance of 5 million coming to him he wouldn't have abbolished the bad deal for us he would have waited and got the 5 mill before leaving if there was any truth the the nonsense that people are talking he would have done everything in his power to make sure he got his pay day.

no 5 million lawsuite has or ever would have existed stop listening to the people that make this stuff up in their own heads there was no clause that we have to pay for unsold shirts
