Verdant it's not only buying a player it's paying his wages. Would expect a bit of a little hike in our wage bill already. If morelos signs new deal along with Kent I'd expect higher again. Better with the money in the bank for the right player at the right price.

Evander will NOT be joining Rangers. FC Mtdyland are looking for a fee of around £5-7m. We will not commit to anything near that amount. The club has a had two very profitable seasons in Europe however FFP is essential in Europe and the club is now trying to find a firm footing and investing infrastructure projects such as New Edminston house and youth academy/ womens football as opposed to gambling it all away on 1 or 2 signings.

Effectively the club are now operating on a sell to buy model. Any profit made from European competition will go solely into the running of the club.

Anyone expecting 2/ 3 new signings tomorrow, be prepared to be very disappointed.

Rangers financial issues of 2012 had nothing to do with who we bought in the 1990s. Fact is, Rangers didn’t start to use EBTs until after the 2000s.

I would even go as far to suggest Rangers were never financially mismanaged. If David Murray kept hold of the club I’m convinced we would have came through 2012. Rangers seem to be the victim of a conman in Craig Whyte, and an HMRC with a vendetta, leaving the public with a bill of over £100m. Once the independent investigation into all this begins we’ll see who was really at fault.

Sell to buy model is fair enough . Money brought in from sales will hit £34.5 million . Money spent so far £12 million approx . so we should still have £22 million available without touching Europa or Champions League money. Enough for another couple of decent signings without breaking the bank. We should also be selling Sakala as the manager doesn`t rate him and that would also bring in another couple of million .

If logic was that simple, clubs in European competition cannot have a loss as big as our, last season we lost 27m, season before was £15m. The losses are averaged over a 3 year period with FFP. We will not be making any big moves.

I am certainly not and never will be a Leftie, (unless you are talking about which foot I kick with in football terms however I do believe that investing in Woman's Football is a good thing especially with us now on top although admittedly I would have preferred our Chairman to invest in rangers rather than the League that is now run by the SFA, (I think) .
Woman's football is massive in the USA, it is attracting more and more fans down here in England and look at the numbers that attended the European championship.
Rangers Ladies are doing well in the league and could potentially win the European Cup, something that we are highly unlikely to do with the men's team! Investing in our Ladies' team should not prevent the Board from giving GVB what is needed to give us the best chance possible to win the SPFL and compete in Europe. To not do this is a lack of ambition!

Well said Berkshire. Yes rangers have invested in womens football and rightly so. It will grow and one day will be self sustaining. Bear in mind the top womens player at rangers earns less in a year than Morelos does in a week and have a small squad of players. It definitely ain’t impacting money Gio has to spend. Hoping my 11 year old daughter will one day play in that blue shirt.
