Devine isn't very good. He's nowhere near the level Patterson was at the same age. He's very, very ordinary but Beale is rightly being nice about him because he's his player. We can definitely do better.

Don’t think we should turn our nose up at signing any young player. If he’s better than what we have then bring him in. I don’t see Devine as a long term backup to Tav. As rfcrb said he’s nowhere near what Patterson was at that age. I’d say his ceiling is similar to that of Ralston at Celtic where he can come in and do a job but you wouldn’t be starting him every week. Tav has been poor this season which I think we all believe is down to injury and it could be stemming from him playing so many games back to back for however many years now. Can hardly remember a time he was injured in his whole time here. Think we need someone who can lighten the load on him and I’m not sure Devine is that player yet but an 18 year old from Belgium is unlikely to be either tbf.

But end of the day competition at any level isn’t a bad thing in any squad doesn’t matter on the level but every player needs competition especially if your going to play for a team like us. So competition to break into our first team why not sign guys with potential.

To say we don't need a young talented player in is an absolutely unbelievable statement, no mater what position in our team of we can attract a young talent and get him for a good few it's a complete no brainer to suggest otherwise is simply absurd, Devine has done OK but in my opinion he won't ever replace tav, Patterson was far superior at 17 than divine at 21 approaching 22 which int actually that young he should be playing week in week out at the age, again only My opinion and would love to be proved wrong but divine is a steady player but I just done see him kicking on any further.

Devine in his first 4 games for us against hearts from last season I think he has played far better in his first 4 games than Patterson and he will definitely improve his game still only 19.Devine could be a great player for us moving forward, but that Belgium rb I would still bring him in if we can.

R1 our scouts have watched Anderlecht many times, they have a far better chance of them seeing his potential that anyone on here, they have clearly seen something in his boy if we want him.

RFCb really he's just starting his career and is playing out of position and not looking phased the boy is. a decent defender not as good going forward but can play left back as well as his FAVOURED RIGHT BACK it's all plus signs on this boy so far some players grow into career others burst onto scene.
I'd much rather a steady defender growing with team.
