Hi folks. Heard this morning that we're definately interested in Livingstons 6ft 6 keeper.
Apparently Martindale is expecting him away end of the season.
Lad has great stats and a great age! Ex liverpool u23 keeper.
Good signing if true.

We will definitely need to bring in a keeper in the summer to replace McGregor, two if McCrorie isn't going to be backup. Mclaughlin should go along with McGregor who I suspect will retire.

i have a feeling bb that greegs will sign as back up fir another year, personal circs may require him not to retire, possibly coaching is what he will be involved in as well as back up, i would be ok with that, if as you say we have a new number one, that boy the ed spoke about is a good shout.

There are a lot better goalkeepers around than some journeyman who has ended up at Livingston. Remember our own Robbie McCrorie was their top goalie for a while so he would be worth a shot first. We are looking for someone to come in and replace someone of the calibre of Greegs, not be second or third choice . We need someone of more stature than this guy.

Davie you don't need to see a keeper live to judge his ability if you ever played as a keeper you would know this as it's not like outfield players where you need to monitor the players movement of the ball as well as on it.

Keepers are easier

Foot movement, positioning, shot stopping, handling, calmness on ball and there are several other things but these are the main traits I'd look for but at the moment in my OPINION he is still missing a coue of those traits, he is young and could still learn though.

I ask Davie why so hostile when I'm only expressing an opinion?

Walter he's not a journeyman he's still young. I just don't think he's quite up to the standard we need yet could change but I doubt it.

Was reading earlier he saved the most shots and the best passing from any keeper in our league has really good stats but he will not be Rangers number 1 keeper I don't think but could still get him and could be better soon enough still young for a keeper.

Keeper is such a difficult position too please in as if few great saves in couple of games you're the hero nthen one bad slip up or hasty goal n you're crap, its hard too get 3 great keepers or two even as all want too be number 1, its hard being num 2 keeper with a great onein front of you ie greegsy n mcgluchlin one is always going too be prefered too the other so its finding someone with the metallity too fight for first spot, be happy on bench n good enogh too take over ie injury, or a cup run

I think we have always been not bad in keeper dept its just a hard slot to fill then get a decent num 2 you put a lot of faith in mate.
