I’d personally use Arfield more than MB does. Admire Jack as a player but it’s a pity he’s always injured. Probably both good experienced guys to have around the club though so good news.

Jack tenth most minutes played been one of most available defensive midfielders this season surprisingly
And arfield never let us down from. Bench another season transitioning to a youth coach put him through courses available if emergency might be smart way to go.

Id keep arfield because he plays for the badge and quite frankly he has got us a good few points with his impact of the bench last few seasons.
Impact subs are needed in football and arfield probably does that best.
He's the only guy I'd keep around personally everyone else out of contract can go.

You can't say that about Kent or Morelos, yet most fans would keep those two.

We should’ve let Davis, McGregor, Arfield, and Jack all go last summer. If we start handing more contracts out to these guys we’re just kicking the can down the road again. These guys MUST go that’s the whole point of a refresh. It’s gone stale, it’s stagnant, and that won't change if we have the same midfield again next season. Cant decide if this is the right thing to do Jacks fitness is far too stop start as for arfield he gives his all and when he came on last week you could see he actually believed he cause problems against unlike all our other attacking players our CF was more interested in hogging the touchline and taking shys he didn't want involved one bit embarassing.

We need to be switched on here and signing Jack and Arfield as I said before is a no brainer. Sell Lundstrum and Kamara who are both just as ineffective as Arfield and Jack. ? Raise cash. And probably save on wages as you are renegotiating with Jack and Arfield. Arfield and Davis to coach B Team? European slots covered.
Craig how many do you think we are going to bring in? Angie isn’t buying players for his first team on sell on potential, he’s buying them because they fit his system and to win things. We really need to change our approach, but we ain’t renewing a full squad. There is a difference having senior players as back than having them as main starts. What has been shown is that the young players being brought in for sale on potential are just as bad as the senior players. Feck if Steven was fit, could he do any worse than Cantwell and Raskin.

Do people on here realise we need a squad of probably around 24, so we do have to keep some of the current squad, much as we are frustrated at them all, I would keep Arfield because he has shown that he has a role as an impact sub, not sure about Jack but if they both stay it will be part of the squad and gives us a bit of continuity . I would imagine that McGregor, Helander, Tillman, Davis, Kent and Morelos will all go and be joined by Wright, McLaughlin and Kamara for sure . There must be a doubt about Barisic and Lundstram who both enter the last year of their contracts and fitness concerns over Roofe and Lawrence. that's without mentioning guys like Yilmaz and Matondo who are unproven. that's a lot of change even if Jack and Arfield stay.

I wouldn't offer arfield or jack another deal, both can leave along with Davis, Mcgregor, time for a clean out of the oldies.
sell on any assets that we can now as more are on there last year of contract Lundstram and Barisic in particular, before they go on freebies as well.
We have the experience in the team by retaining Tavenier and Goldson, bboth know what it means to play for our club and can influence the incoming squad.
Will take more than one transfer window to build Beale;s squad if he last that long, Gerrard got 2 seasons for his clean out with a pretty lean budget, most of our current squad are his signings, Gio never really got the proper chance to build his team and was scape goated by the board for a handful of bad reults when most of the first team were on the treatment bench. Beale still has a lot to prove in the managerial department, though his tactical knowledge is superb is he the one to take our team forward?
Time will tell, a bad run in europe and a half a dozen bad consecutive results in the league will be bye bye for him too.
Gerrard had us playing way above our weight with his tactics and leadership, Gio had superb understanding of how to outplay and bypass very good teams in europe, some who were well beyond our squads abilities and talents and in several times our squads values, depending on the team we were up against, he knew how to use the squad and tactics to exploit weknesses in those teams, but the ever growing injury list and run of underwhelming results saw him get the chop far to early, I doubt any manager could have done much better with almost half his first team squad on the treatment tables.
Release on a free . Allan McGregor, Kieran Wright, Filip Helander, Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield, Steven Davis, Nnamdi Ofoborh.
Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent.
Sell . Jon McLaughlin, Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara, John Lundstram, Scott Wright, Antonio Colak, Fashion Sakala (20-25 mill is reasonable for that lot) .
If they can regain fitness and previous form also sell . Tom Lawrence, Kemar Roofe (adds another 6-8 mill) .
We now have potentially 30-35 mill (plus all the recouped wages from player releases) will have cleaned up the squad for the next couple of seasons and retained our most talented and sellable assets.
Keep . Robby Mcrorie, James Tavernier (Captain), Connor Goldson (Vice Captain), John Souttar, (Ben Davies - but give him a go as a left back not as CB), Leon King, Ridvan Yilmaz, Adam Devine, Nicolas Raskin, Todd Cantwell, Ianis Hagi, Alex Lowry, Rabbi Matondo.
Offer 3 million to Bayern for Tillman and play him as either a CAM or CF (i Fell he has mad potential as a CF as he is quite dangerous and tricky to deal with in and around the box) this may surprise a few on here, as htye think i want tillmans head on a stick but that's never been the case.
Promote Robbie Ure, Zak Lovelace, Thompson Ishaka, Charlie Lindsay, Johnly Yfeko.
Bring quality talented players between the age of 20-25.
and a solid 1st team golakeeper aged 27-29.
2 players for every position in the sqaud and a healthy bench brimming with hungry young lads keen to make make a name for themselves at our club.

Yes, we know Rangers need a squad of 24. Right now we have a squad of about 33 guys with the intention of brining in 6 this summer according to the manager. It would be nice if some B team or youth team players got a chance too. We don’t need to keep Jack and Arfield because we need numbers ?
Also, isn’t it Arfield Canadian and therefore doesn’t qualify as homegrown?

It's based on where you developed as a footballer, so time spent in an academy between certain ages - think it's 16-19.
So Arfield qualifies as an Association player, as he developed in a Scottish Academy.
