Morelos IS a Rangers great. He scored about 125 goals for the club and is one of our most prolific scorers of all time. Not to mention, he’s the second highest scorer in the history of the Europa League. Morelos was key to Rangers stopping Celtic from winning 10IAR, and he earned enough prize money in Europe to pay for that £1m transfer fee 10x over.

Most are upset because Rangers never never made a profit from Kent or Morelos but that’s the clubs fault. Both should’ve been sold last summer rather than let them run their contracts down. We had just been in a Europa League final and no one will ever convince me no club in Europe wanted them. Celtic made big profits on Ajer and Edouard who both had one year left on their deals after a disastrous season winning nothing. Celtic just seem to be better at buying and selling than Rangers are, and have been for some time. I can only hope the club has learned it’s lesson and will not allow our most valuable player assets to run their contracts down and leave for free again.

For me to be a “ Rangers great” you need to live and breathe the institution and as much as I loved Alfie throughout his stay ( and probably hated him sometimes ) I think great is banded about far to many times now! When I hear great I think of 70’s 80’s 90’s and look at true legends of our club! I truly think Alfie did well for our club but to class as a great I’m sure I’ve a few others to mention beforehand and also other members of the site would have their own!

Dunno about Rangers great Verdant, but certainly I'll always look fondly on Buff. Having some of the best Euro defences on toast, the battles with Brown, mcKenna porteus. That smash into top right corner against celtic. When you've got a South american, youngster you have to take them warts and all and for me, the great memories outweigh the bad . Oh, and what value for 1m. Goes with my best wishes and if he goes to Seville, I don't think it will be seen as a backward step, unlike Kent.

Morelos will never be a Rangers great in my mind. He was nothing more than a decent player who scored goals against minnows in Europe. For me, he's not fit to lace the boots of true Rangers greats such as Ally McCoist. If Morelos had any shred of decency about him, he would release a statement apologising for his lack of effort and petulance over the last couple of years. He could have been so much more, but he will be remembered as nothing more than a mercenary.
