Posters going on about lack of striking options.
Shouldn't other players chip in with goals?
In the SPFL last year before the split:-
4 players already in double figures.
Tav - 15 goals
Colak - 13 goals
Morelos - 11 goals
Tillman - 10 goals
We then had:-
Sakala - 8
Lundstram - 5
Arfield - 5
Kent - 3
And others with less.
This season so far:-
2 players in double figures
Tav - 10
Sima - 10
We then have:-
Dessers - 8
Danilo - 4
Cantwell - 3
And again others with less.
We are scoring less on average per game than last season. But also conceding less.
It's time for others, e. g. midfielders and wingers to step up.
But RTR makes a good point further down - score more than the opposition and keep it tight at the back we win. Simples.

I agree with your point MPH as other players always need to contribute.

I think the worry is more that if we get injuries it could mean we would need to play without a recognised striker. Less around the striker scoring more just how that would impact our overall play.

Hopefully we have cover if needed between the other attacking players.

MPH. The great Liverpool team of the 70”s lived by that Mantel, thus Souness approach. Don’t concede. Never bought into you score 3 well score 4 crap.

As always good post MPH

I think Cortes will add figures, and Diomande to be fair, but perhaps less.

I would be expecting 10 goals from Cortes, 4 from Diomande. Decent targets.

Tav will have his biggest scoring record to date and hopefully Cantwell rises to the challenge of the new boys sniffing around.

Great post MpH I have always said that every player needs to chip in with goals obviously the strikers need to score more than them. Tav high scoring is partly to do with taking pens tho he does get his fare share of other goals too.

Hopefully the new additions will also provide better service to the forwards.
