Ok I'm not ripping into the team after recent performances, although they haven't been good enough.
However I am unconvinced by O'Halloran. He has done very little of consequence in the games he's played and not sure he will.
I was all for bringing him in and still hope he comes good but I'm not sure where he will get a shout next season.
With Waggy and Forrester fit, Windass coming in and at least 1 more striker along with Mckay and Miller he seems somewhat surplus to requirements!

Sick of the interviews after the game, yes warburton has done great but after the last 3 games it's the same old "we will learn from it"pi5h, clearly not learning anything, been utter pi5h the last 3 games!

Think it's very clear that the defenders aren't learning from their mistakes and no matter which pairing it is the same goals are lost. I hope Warburton does learn and gets in another 2 centre halves. Ones who can defend and know how to mark opponents.

I agree Forfarger for the most part but I thought his interview after the game last night was absolute class. Ripped in to the team and said there were absolutely no positives to take from the game. Even pointed out possession for the sake of it is pointless and cited Leicster as an example.

I don't think we need 2 centre backs. 1 more is plenty. With our style of play a CB who can pass out from the back is essential. Wilson and Kiernan are good at this. They just need a bit of steel and someone to learn from. Both will come on to e great CBs in my opinion bit need a leader for now. Any more than one will limit their growing potential and block MWs much desired route to first team.

First sensible post I've read re our centre half's. Firstly, both wilson and kiernan are young centre half's. Very few cb's have grown into the position by their age. Remember Craig Moore and the stick he used to take, but with perseverance and giving him time to develop, he turned into a top cb for us. Secondly, the way we play will always expose our cb's with both full backs bombing on and no recognised holding midfielder. It's a price we have to pay for watching attacking football. Finally, having players in this position who can pass and step out with the ball is essential to the way we play. Without this, you can't pass the ball short from the goalkeeper and subsequently you relinquish possession more often than not through going long, completely contrary to the philosophy that MW has instilled in our club.
Before shagging wilson and kiernan at every opportunity. try and understand the game.

No wonder they're playing badly if they're getting Shagged at every opportunity Wilson0212😂😂😂
Sorry mate couldn't resist. I do agree with you though regarding the CB's. They've been left hopelessly exposed at times this year. I think Weir will have identified this and I'm sure there will be great efforts in the summer in recruitment and training to rectify it. A decent CDM will help and perhaps an experienced CB to hold Wilson or Kiernans hand for a while like Weir did for countless CB's in his career. Apparently he takes control of all defensive work at Murray park but I suppose he can only work with what he's got.

I, m not convinced with Wilson too slow in my opinion not commanding in the air gets beat to often from set pieces and corners and why does he go up for our corners when few are put in the box, leaves defence open to counter attack. Him and Kiernan seldom get on the end of set pieces anyway, they should maybe stay back for all the use they are I might be a bit harsh on them but I want to see a better team and progress not conceding every game, I think Wilson will be on the bench next season. What do you think?

Wilson0212

Sorry but can't agree about the centre halves. Just look at Leicester's 2 centre halves. 2 big guys who can challenge in the air and know how to defend. By no means are they the best footballing centre halves in the league and don't often play from the back but Leicester are great to watch. Defenders need to defend first and foremost and the goals we are losing are criminal. Really poor defending at any age and totally unacceptable.

Biff I get what your saying but Leicester don't play the way we do.
Huth and Morgan are doing great but they have 2 workhorse midfielders in front of them in Drinkwater and Kante. Leicester do not get anywhere near the possession we do and their full backs are not as attacking.
1 decent CB and we will be grand. Crooks coming in at CDM will help us shore up at the back as he is 6'3 and will function as a 3rd CB when Wallace n Tav bomb on!

Not harsh at all mate. If both your CBs are hopeless in the air you're going to struggle.

Don't like this blame it on Wilson and Kiernan. We should be defending better as a team and be showing much more goal threat. Lacking ideas and look tired as a team at moment.

If we did something with the ball instead of pointless possession then we would be beating these teams comfortably like we should be doing. Our lack of goal threat gives these teams a chance they shouldn't have and puts pressure on our defence.

Pish biffo. Leicester's style couldn't be any more dissimilar to ours. We dominate possession whereas they allow the other team the ball and hit on the counter. Huth and Morgan are supported by 2 defensively minded full backs and 2 industrious central midfielders. I would take our style over theirs every day of the week. They do prove one of my original points in that neither came to prominence until they were in their 30s.

In my view we need one strong tackling solid in the air centre back paired with either Kieran, (who would be my choice) , or Wilson, and we need a solid defensive midfield player, and hopefully that will be Crooks.

We also need more quality in central midfield and attack although if Warburton is successful with this summer's recruitment policy and get his targets then I reckon we should be well placed for the new season. That, I guess means putting a bit of trust in the manager and he sure warrants it given the fundamental change in our team this season from what we saw in previous years.
