I have never posted on here before and this will be my one and only post. I have supported Rangers all my life but I now have to say enough is enough and it has nothing to do with the team on the park.

I am so embarrassed with the Rangers supporters that I now refuse to subject myself and my family to the sheer hatred I hear during every game at Ibrox, I have turned a blind eye to this in the past but the level of sectarianism and hatred, in my opinion is now worse than it has ever been. This is 2017 and we are still banging on about Derrys Walls and being up to our knees in fenian blood. I never thought i'd say this but the Celtic fans are making us look moronic! They have moved on, we are stuck somewhere around 1690!

The abuse directed at Scott Sinclair was the last straw, some moron at a zoo posing in front of the monkey enclosure is beyond embarrassing.

The damage has already been done and these people are marginalising decent supporters and pushing people in the direction of Glasgows East End. Saw a group of Polish/ Lithuanian lads playing football recently and every one of them had a Celtic shirt on! Give me one good reason why these guys would follow Rangers?

I fear for Rangers as a club and really think they might live in the shadow of Celtic forever however I am off to watch lower league football which I can enjoy with my family.

Graeme

You say the Celtic fans have moved on however is this the same fans who in the first old firm game had rubber dolls with Rangers scarfs on hanging from the stands? Who bottled a 10 year old in the face? Suppose you think the Green Brigade with their songs and banners are acceptable to? TBH your post reads in parts like a tribute to the Celtic support. Would you not be better posting it on a Celtic site?

Graeme, I'm sorry to hear of a decent fan leaving.
I can't agree is worse than it ever was but I get where you are coming from. ANY is too much.
The only thing I would say to you is - who is going to take your place?
I hnow we have plenty of fans but the more of us that don't do it the better. We can't give way to the idiots or you will be right and it will go downhill.

With a username like that i think you're Trigger in disguise (remember him lads), anyway "graeme" is this the same Selik fans that can't even show respect for 1 minute at rememberance day, hang blow ups from there stand, make aeroplane gestures towards American players (Reyna), blame Refs for being DOBs everytime there's a desision against them? I could go on all day. fact of the matter is that every club has morons. so i'm quite glad that was your 1 and only post and for my fellow bears that are sympathising with him, Get a grip

I seen this exact post in FF recently, 100% percent there's aspects that need to be stamped out and our own house in order is first priority.

The sheer terminology in your post reeks of one of them coming in to have a pop. there's improvements to be made and i think a better product on the park to sing about will aid in eradicating old habits.

Theres always going to be idiots across all walks and aspects of life but to tar all our supporters with the same brush is preposterous. But i stand by we need to have a product to sing about on the park as well and whilst i'd like to think some songs are off limits some are perfectly fine and have been rung about Ibrox for years and will be here longer than you will.

These guys are not supporters of our club - they might claim to be but at heart they are simply moronic **** who really need to get a life.

I don't care what the celtic fans get up to but it's time that all fans helped to get rid of the affliction that still haunts our club - report the guys sitting behind you chanting obscenities.

Im all for a bit of good natured banter and winding up the opposition but the hatred is 50 years out of date.

Graeme I can't argue that we've got morons in our support and I hope anyone who damages our clubs reputation gets banned for life but every club has morons. Anyone who was at parkhead the day mark Walters played there will tell you the disgraceful scenes we all seen. Bananas all over the track monkey noises from the jungle so I don't think any club can take the moral high ground.

When we all indulge in cheap point scoring over who sang / said / done what then the problems will never be eradicated. Education is required and we all have a part to play in trying to end the hatred. I'm all for friendly banter but I have to agree, recently it is getting worse.

All the hatred between both rangers and Celtic fans stem from Catholic and protestant which are religions and I can't for the life of me work out why any1 still believes in religion it's a complete and utter farce a fairytale so shouldn't b anywhere near a football stadium we need to move on. It will never happen tho. Ps u are at it Graham you's are just as bad

JLS why should I get a grip?
I know there are Celtic Fans as bad. That's hardly relevant. They call us bad names so I'm going to call them bad things is an acceptable excuse when your 9 years old. We are mostly adults here. I don't care if this guy is genuine. The facts stand that these fans are banging an outdated, moronic drum.
I'd love to know the amount of these Protestants that were in church on Sunday!

Never posted, one and only post.

Screams of throwing a windup grenade and stepping back to admire your own work to me.

It's a wasted post though, you disagree with bigotry, racism and idiots in general. Who doesn't?

I'm sorry, I get your point and I agree that there is no place for any of that in any aspect of life but you Graeme must be on the wind up.

There is no point in even going into the fact that each team has that element of support.

If you are genuinely a Rangers man then you wouldn't turn your back on the club. If every decent fan did that, we'd be left with the racists, biggots and idiots.

Graeme I don't like bigotry it's on both sides I've experienced the worst of it serving as a soldier in Northern Ireland during the trouble I'm saddened to think that we are solely responsible for it but as a dye hard support may I take this opportunity to say you won't be missed go to the darkside but don't come back when the success comes back because we do want you.

There are distasteful and some downright disgusting songs throughout Scottish football. I don't like them and think Rangers could use a new songbook, something to give the fans a lift and a bit of a laugh. But, but. I don't think I've the right to tell anyone else what words to use and I don't think anyone else does either. People get too upset with what amounts to, singing. No violence, no running battles in the streets like years ago, just singing.

Personally, I feel the hate and vitriol that has been directed at rangers fans over the last few years has been intense. The glee that has been displayed by other fans groups over every perceived setback at rangers has been appalling to watch and without trying to justify the actions of some of the barbarians in our own support, you can appreciate there is going to be some pushback and that pushback will take some pretty disappointing forms.

I've lived in Africa/ Asia for the last decade and experience racism every day. yes its ugly but at some point you've got to acknowledge, that those that are abusive in this way, are either too daft to know any better or too frustrated to care how they look. You deal with it and move on.
What I'm trying to say is we're not so fragile that a few words should give us, as a species, such problems.

That being said, I'm going to contradict myself a bit here.

With Rangers, we're not talking about a few bad apples but a large section of our support singing inappropriate songs. Songs of hate instead of songs of support. Anyone can say whatever they want as far as I'm concerned but what you say is a reflection of who you are and so many of us singing these songs makes us look ugly.

greame for me sounds like a celtic fan.
i agree with some of what he is saying but half of that post was utter nonsense pal. cletic fans have not moved on big banners at that game saying know your place person and the hanging of dolls with our scarves on is ridiculous and celtic fans just a few years back done the same monkey gestures to our players so no they haven't moved on and just like our supporters its just a minority of them .

i agree we need new songs to sing i like penny arcade but we need to adopt more.

i like the porto chant form one side to another just change it to rangers and that's a good one and sing the correct words to our other songs which have been made sectarian by our fans of yesteryear.

and then to hit our with we will be in their shadow forever strikes me as something only a cletic fans would say.

if u are a rangers fan and have that view on things then good riddance as we need loyal fans and the good ones like myself than don't sing the sectarian words as the more of us that stay the less space for the idiots that do.

seriously though you negative part time fans such as yourself mate can do one and don't come back i'd rather u where one of them that would make that post easier to swallow absolutely sickening post in my opinion.

i am rangers till i die and don't even have a choice in that rangers are a part of who i am

Who cares whose worse, this club has and always will be a protestant institution. There is no other club in the world like ours, we stand by our beliefs. I don't believe in monkey gestures that's just childish behaviour from people who don't see sunlight very often. Sectarianism is only an offence when directed at another person or belief other wise we are being discriminated against. Who goes to a church n complains about them singing about jesus all day. Think about it.
