Daniel Armstrong quoted in papers as available for close to 500k. I've liked what I've seen from him so far and as a Scottish player for our squad, it might be a good buy, he's 26 i think, but when you see what we get from 3-4m buys, it might be a smart squad investment .

The headts ceo said at their AGM that killie wanted 7 figures for him.

Take him for that price but we need 1st team starters not squad players have we learnt nothing from the last few windows.

Not for me, I’m sure he’s not even a player who would fit the homegrown quota. I think if we sign foreign players they must be better than Scottish players available.

Storm, completely agree. we need players that are going to make a difference on the pitch.

I wouldn’t want to jeopardise McCausland development for him. We’ve had a problem with the right wing for years and I’d hope we can sign a first team player to the same standard as Sima to challenge McCausland for the starting position.

Is he any better than McCausland who Clement seems to trust and starts on a regular basis?
Is he any better a squad player than Wright who Clement also seems to have got a wee tune out of?
So why waste even £500K on a player who would be a squad player at best?
I would much rather put all our finances into starters.

Is that the winger from kilmarnock that tore celtic apart. for 500k get him in the sqaud if so. he was amazing that game. put better players around him and all good.

I totally agree with storm, ie we need to sign players who can go into our starting 11 and make the difference straight away ?Quality over quantity for me ?.

Don`t know if Armstrong is better than McCausland, he is more experienced in what is needed in Scottish football . I reckon he is better than Wright who has had plenty of chances to establish himself and apart from a couple of goals has pretty much done nothing at Rangers. In my opinion, if we could bring Armstrong into the squad to replace Wright, the squad would be improved. His goals and assist numbers are much better than anything right achieved at Aberdeen before we signed him. He likes to take on defenders, is a good crosser of the ball and pitches in with a few goals, would give us another option in the right wing position, so why not .

I rate him higher than mcCausland at the moment yes he's better. Not to say ross won't get better.

Squad players are not what is required. We need additions to walk straight into our starting lineup. One or two of quality it what were require.

Either way we only have Wright, McCausland, and Matondo to cover RW position, or Hagi if he returns from his loan spell.
RW has always been a problem positon these last few seasons.
I am sure PC will be looking at players in other leagues to strengthen the team, but that doesn’t mean we should dismiss the SPFL as in the past, players linked with Rangers have gone on to be successful at other clubs in Europe.

If Armstrong is the level of our ambitions then we've got no chance. A barely adequate journeyman with no pedigree whatsoever, he is not going to get a game for Rangers at any time. He's right up there with O'Halloran, Hastie and Jones. At least Shankland, Scotland's fifth choice striker, has a goalscoring prowess if not much else.
