Make of this what you want lads, there's a rumour going about social media that Collum has been emailing someone in SFA saying that he is going to give us a penalty in first half.

Might be worth a punt on Tav scoring first goal or just a penalty in the game.

BazzaBear

1.) 09 Mar 2018 13:00:55
Well if there is a rumour on social media about it I might stick my weeks wages on it

2.) 09 Mar 2018 13:10:59
I wondered who started that rumour not exactly a miss marple investigation, always cheated never defeated is a clue

3.) 09 Mar 2018 13:55:37
hes 5 foot 10 and plays in black and he's going to get wee brenda the sack he's brother colum rangers number 12

4.) 09 Mar 2018 14:17:59
What a load of nonsense. Hard enough to referee these games without added pressure if there is a foul in the box.

5.) 09 Mar 2018 15:18:21
Bet we get denied a stone Waller because of some we manky man behind a twitter account

6.) 09 Mar 2018 15:30:08
Thats just the Mhankies trying to put pressure on ther ref. They know that we are going to run their defence ragged and likely to get a pen as they try to stop us.

Brother Brendan, says the pressure is all on us? Aye right permatan, it all on your Mob. Bricking yourselves that your Ex invincibles, Multi Million Dumbell dollar team could get stuffed With a team being managed by an under 20s coach.

;-)

7.) 09 Mar 2018 15:48:49
Reign it in lads! Not to get too carried away now!
Always liked wee Collum though :-)

8.) 09 Mar 2018 17:55:12
You see the the reason the grey and green tops put that rumor out is because they are using every single trick in the book to influence the ref as they always do but they that makes me feel even better because that means they are kakin their wee drawers role on Sunday keep believing bears 55 is coming soon!

9.) 09 Mar 2018 20:26:37
Lot of new names on here praising collum seems like the other side are running scared

10.) 09 Mar 2018 22:39:19
Not a chance of that being true, he would be out on his bottom.

Just imagine the Timplosion from the paranoid unwashed if it happens now though. delightful.

11.) 09 Mar 2018 22:41:54
Can't be celtic fans that started that rumour, they are neither obsessed or paranoid. Strange

12 Feb 2018 15:42:31
Murty has a big future ahead of him and there is now a big big part of me that thinks he deserves another season at the helm. The way he speaks to the press oozes Rangers class. The players play for him, ok there have been a few hiccups so far but that is par for the course, we are not yet in the position to be thinking we are going to win every game.

Fans also need to get off Windass' back, the guy is not going to run about like a headless chicken for 90mins and he may drift out of games but he has the ability to pop up and win a game for us.

It is also great to be in the position where we say who do we drop for the next game. Candias and Holt will be looking to get back into the team and both have played well under Murty, but everyone who started against Ayr deserve to keep their places.

And finally, Morelos' miss was not that bad considering the bobble the ball took on the very bad goalmouth area. The press have made such a big issue of this and need to have a look at themselves!

BazzaBear

1.) 12 Feb 2018 16:22:03
At the end of the day murty still can't get tested until next season where he can tie down the players he wants and of load those that don't fit his plans but fellow bears What should he consentrate on Scottish or league for me it's goat to be Scottish cup let Aberdeen win the league and a would be happy with 3rd and a do think Celtic are crumbling

2.) 12 Feb 2018 16:29:58
How have the press made a big issue of this exactly? It was a shocking miss and right up there with van bosses if not worse but he done well to bounce back wi a great finish for the equaliser shortly after. Stop playing the conspiracy card with the media and everyone because its embarrasing and is what we used to say about Celtic fans.

3.) 12 Feb 2018 19:04:25
I don't even see Morelos miss as bad as Scott Sinclair v hibs! Should have a poll lol

4.) 12 Feb 2018 19:19:42
It was a shocking bobble tbh. No way he could have done anything about it. Nothing like Van Vossen imo. And if you don't think there is a renewed media agenda against the club then you are walking about with your eyes shut and your hands over your ears. Hence the banishing of the BBC from Ibrox

5.) 12 Feb 2018 20:25:10
He had time to take a touch and whatever way you look at it the miss was shocking however he didn’t let it get to him and his finish for the first goal was excellent. Who cares what the press or anyone else thinks about him or the miss most important thing was he scored twice and we are through

6.) 13 Feb 2018 08:52:22
Who cares about the one he missed what about the two he scored they were not belters I think the second was best he started the move by a great ball out to the right wing was then on the eighteen yard line to work a great give and go to be in the position tho tap it in great movement he is a really good player to have so enjoy him while he is here forget the miss these things happen I saw McCoist miss some sitters but he just got on with it and banged them in

7.) 13 Feb 2018 12:19:13
Comical to call Murty Rangers class on any level. The standards of Rangers fans has officially dropped. Wes a world class keeper, Holt a fine captain (! )

8.) 13 Feb 2018 12:42:19
You're not serious rick? That ball was coming at pace and took a horrible bobble, morelos had no chance of re-adjusting his feet.

9.) 13 Feb 2018 15:39:06
Coldo, it was a shocking miss but as I said done brilliantly to go and score 2 goals after the miss but please don’t compare him to McCoist, that’s bordering stupidity.

10.) 13 Feb 2018 18:31:32
Coldo didn't mention McCoist

Expect to see Pena in action with the next 2-3 fixtures, he is near full fitness but Pedro is more concerned about match fitness as he doesn't want him to get injured and be left on the sidelines as he is obviously a long way from home.

Expect big things from him if he reaches the potential he showed couple of years back.

BazzaBear

1.) 22 Aug 2017 16:16:15
What a load of single fish. I have said it before. A professional athlete in any league in the world should not require the amount of time Pena has taken to be match fit. Plenty of bounce games, Plenty of opportunity to get fit over the last 8-10weeks. He is a potential liability of a signing. Rumors of him being homesick (only rumors) and his massively heavy first touch are problems for me. These guys will not get the time on the ball they are used too.

2.) 22 Aug 2017 20:06:14
How fo u no he's got a heavy touch? he's only played 5 mins?

3.) 22 Aug 2017 20:57:40
I really hope the guy is the player he is said to be but even if he does he really hasn't given me hope he has the commitment to succeed in Glasgow after the snap chat vid of him dancing the night of the Hibs defeat

He should have been in his bed to get up early and have extra training if he isn't fit enough for 90 mins of football.

4.) 22 Aug 2017 21:55:34
He's a disgrace. There's no excuses for him not being fit just now, hopefully he goes too when the manager goes in a few weeks or after the Celtic game at the latest.

5.) 22 Aug 2017 22:59:45
If he could just walk past the chippy it would be a start. An athlete looking like that is unacceptable.

6.) 22 Aug 2017 23:21:41
After all the hype about king not doing the right things and not spending and then he turned round and sorted out the shirt deal and spending nearly ten million surely we should no by now that things like this maybe happening for a reason? If people a quick to jump on this guys back then fair enough but we should give the guy a chance and judge him when he on the pitch for a couple of games.

7.) 22 Aug 2017 23:54:08
im telling you now, pena is a disaster of a signing, he has all sort of previous and only highlights how incompetant pedro is. quicker he is out the door the better

8.) 23 Aug 2017 04:00:31
Imagine labelling one of our own players a discrace because he hasn't played 3 games into the season! Shame on you pal

9.) 23 Aug 2017 07:32:11
I really hope that Pena smashes a couple of goals in on his first start OR at least shows us that he has bags of ability. I think Pena and Dorrans in the middle of the Midfield with Candieas on the right and poss Windass or hopefully Walker on the left. I know we have the young Lad from City arriving and apparently he can play both Wings so here's hoping he comes up and hits the ground running.
Imo its the Wings we should invest in! The jury is out on all Wingers at the Club!
Candieas can hopefully kick on and as for Dalcio he really needs to raise his game. Windass looks like he could be a really good Player on the Wing and also think he is capable of playing both Wings. But I would love it if we did bring in a Qaulity Left Winger, but if we do not have the funds then so be it and I would accept Pedro bringing in a Loan job until we do have the finances to bring someone in. Like I said tho Candieas may up his game to the level we want and Windass is a Player who I feel wants to show the support he CAN play and I think he will become a top Player he too just needs time. I definitely think that this Team will become stronger the more they Play as its not just the Wings that's needing improved. But imo this Squad is 100% good enough to Challange

10.) 23 Aug 2017 21:05:49
A disgrace! Really! That's a bit strong is it not

11.) 23 Aug 2017 21:06:12
Waste of money, pena and herrera.

12.) 23 Aug 2017 21:51:00
Gazza used to drink before games and looked out of shape but when he played he was unplayable. I watched the warm up against hearts. Him kranjar and hardie keeping the ball up between them. I can confirm his first touch is good.

13.) 23 Aug 2017 21:53:39
Some of the comments here are absolutely embarrassing. Support the club, support the team, and support our most expensive signing - don't call him a disgrace before he's kicked a ball! Would you want to give your best if you heard your own fans talk about you like that?

Great signing today, especially now we are without Murphy for the remainder of the season. He gives us 2 players in one, can start out left or off the bench to fill in for Alfredo. Get a steady CB as cover and as far as I am concerned I will be delighted with our business.

Wallace training hard as usual so we have good quality players starting and covering FB positions. 55 on its way!

BazzaBear

1.) 22 Aug 2018 16:31:25
We are still short of players and definitely need at least one more defender and another midfield player.

2.) 23 Aug 2018 00:54:51
Another midfielder? Even with injuries we've enough midfield for two teams.

3.) 23 Aug 2018 13:44:09
Centre half n a winger n were done I would say.

14 Aug 2018 11:21:26
I for one will be delighted to see Lafferty back in the royal blue, I am not too happy about the fee we are paying but think he will be a really effective signing for us and a great player to bring off the bench when we are looking for a goal late on in games.

I do worry how this will effect Sadiq's position at the club, it is clear we are rarely going to play more than 1 up front so think Sadiq will struggle to get game time. Get the feeling that Gerrard is not overly impressed with what he has seen so far.

Very happy with the squad assembled so far, business potentially done when Lafferty over the line, unless someone of real quality becomes available within our price range.

10 Jul 2018 13:40:40
I think we have enough midfielders now, unless De Bruyne fancies a change of scenery!

Another CB and striker (after Sadiq comes in) will do.

I would take Defore in a heartbeat and a big CB with experience to help the new boys.

14 May 2018 13:57:06
I think we need to get the McGinn rumours out of our heads, he will not come to us and I do not think we are overly interested in him. We have a strong central midfield atm (Doc, Jack, McCrorie, Dorrans and Arfield) and I see no need to bring in someone like McGinn.

SG needs to concentrate on our defence, we will need to CB's and LB and RB to cover for Tav and John (2 players I think SG will see as key players) .

I honestly don't think we are as far away from Celtic as the recent scorelines suggest, we are 4/ 5 signings away from challenging. we need to remember it was only about a month ago we thought we could mount a late challenge. Turn Ibrox into a fortress and Rodgers will be worried.

BazzaBear

1.) 14 May 2018 14:18:36
That was a great game yesterday for Gerrard to watch as it was our whole season in one game: losing silly goals, a good bit of fight but no real leadership, throwing it away, victim of poor refereeing, some good attacking play and goals from midfield. He should have learned a lot just by watching that game.

2.) 14 May 2018 14:27:18
You are say we need cover for tav. I think we need to replace tav he Is great going forward but seriously never a defender 2 off the goals yesterday he could have done a lot better! We need to move him up the park RM imo!

3.) 14 May 2018 14:41:09
Cannon - I completely agree, from a neutral point of view it was an outstanding game and showed SG what is good and bad about our team.

CD Ranger - I think the Tav / Candieas partnership has been the best thing about our season and I hope Gerrard sticks with them. If we had decent CB's then we would not be worried about Tav's defensive ability.

4.) 14 May 2018 14:42:58
Also meant to add Rossiter and Windass into the mix for CM. I honestly would struggle to pick a midfield 3 out of them without leaving out a decent player.

5.) 14 May 2018 14:47:23
Get rid off tav cost us three goals yesterday. More than half goals we lose involved him

6.) 14 May 2018 14:59:05
Actually watched goals agin, Tav directly involved in loss off goals, 2,3,4 and 5

7.) 14 May 2018 15:31:04
He's a rm not rb. Like mccrorie a cdm not a Cb. Why do we play players out of position I have no idea. Dorrans and windass another two out of position. Dorrans attacking midfielder and windass a striker.

8.) 14 May 2018 17:22:12
As I keep saying we need to half goals conceded, won't achieve that with Tav in team.
Get a defender who can defend first and foremost. Also if we want to win league Tav would not do in midfield

9.) 14 May 2018 20:15:56
Jboy if we had two centre backs worthy of the name and McCrorie filling in the gaps, Tavernier could then patrol the flank with Candeias to greater effect, like John and maybe Murphy on the other side. It's not what Tav is doing that's the main issue here, it's the incompetence of those who should have his back.

In saying that, we've had stacks of coaches and 'managers' who have stuck with a failed system week in, week out, when it was crying out for us to play three at the back to compensate for our weaknesses. Tav is a victim of their incompetence. We all know he can't defend, but he can certainly play down that flank. We just need some tactical nous to use him to best effect.

10.) 14 May 2018 21:58:32
Burnbank, I don't agree, will be surprised if candelas gets many games, we won't win league with guys like Tav and candelas in team

11.) 14 May 2018 22:35:33
Been saying for ages if we get upwards of £3m for tav then we take it but i'd keep him and look for a solid right back and play him 1 forward as right mid/ winger and it means that you have cover for right back if any injuries.

17 Apr 2018 16:24:54
I have been scratching my head at who we can bring in to sort this team out, we are going to have to keep hold of a big chunk of our current squad as we will struggle to get rid of most of them.

What are everyones thoughts on bringing Stephen Robinson in? Two cup finals for a poor team, yes his team are direct and not great to watch but he seems to get the best out of a poor squad.

BazzaBear

1.) 17 Apr 2018 20:04:16
They might not be good to watch but they give 100% for the team, and that's down to Stephen Robinson getting the best out of them, he has also picked up some good players on free transfers from England and sad to say they are on a fraction of the wages our players are on yet they are getting stuck in and giving 100% every game

Bryson a journeyman? 3 full time clubs and 2 loans.

Personally I think we don't need him but if we are going down this sort of route then why not look at bringing back John Fleck who has had a great career down in England with Coventry and Sheffield Utd and he is still only 27.

I am not going to go down the usual route of such and such told me this as I will be shot down in flames.

What I heard is, the day King announced share issue that could raise £6m (7th May. few days after Gerrard was announced) he was actually supposed to announce £30m+ of investment (to support Gerrard rebuilding the squad) .
On the morning of the press conference, King received a call from the person organising the investors telling him that he could make no announcement as the money and the investors had to remain hush hush or the tax man would be sniffing about them. King had to say something at press conference so came out with the share issues, which he got slated for as it was minor news.

I took it with a pinch of salt but just passing on what I heard a couple of days after the press conference.

It would not surprise me if Gerrard deal is backed with Fenway though as he is next in line for Liverpool job (Klopp will be in charge for at least another 2-3years going by current plans I would think), Fenway will want Gerrard to have experience managing a big successful club with big expectations.

His pay off will probably include a deduction to let him go for free as it will be easier for him to find a club, if we had looked for a fee then he would have probably got a higher pay off or he would have dragged his heels.

I completely agree! We tried to change formation earlier in the season and it did not work, we perform much better with 3 in the middle and 2 wingers. For me Defoe should be used as a sub brought on for the last 30mins to kill games off or try and turn a game around. Also I am pleased to see Davis back but MrCrorie has proved over the last few games that he is vital to our midfield and allows Jack/ Arfield to play.

I am just hoping we don't have them on 'if fit we play' deals, if so then we may not have seen the end of this formation.

Graham Dorrans has scored more Premier League goals than Jack, Ejaria, McCrorie, Arfield and Halliday combined, playing in a terrible team and he is deemed by some not to be good enough.

Andy Halliday at the start of the season was being hunted out by the vast majority of Rangers fans (me being one), now he is being hailed as a great squad player.

Some folk need to give themselves a shake. Gerrard's great man-management skills are there to be seen, now let's give Dorrans time to see if the Stevie G effect has rubbed off on him!

They got him for nothing, got a great season out of him and he is 31 years old with only 1 year left on contract, no more than 500k or 100k plus Wallace or Halliday.

100% he will give us 20+ goals next year if given enough game time. Combine that with what we get from Alfredo and our midfield and we will be pushing Celtic very close this year.
