I seen that Arsenal, Hull and more are interested in Windass too with Arsenal Favs. Was on metro online.

I don't see the logic in Ashley investing now? apparently he is willing to put in 30m to takeover, plus bankroll transfers etc. Why now, when he wouldn't have had to put in anywhere near 30m to be majority shareholder a few years ago?

Camoo

1.) 05 Mar 2017 13:21:57
Perhaps to avoid damaging court cases

2.) 05 Mar 2017 13:25:22
Now we are likely to be in Europe, he is being starved of income from the merchandise deal, there will be a blue moon in the sky before he sees Newcastle United in Europe and the stock price of Sports Direct is down.
He has a Board of Directors to appease. An investment of £30m to buy the club + an additional £30m for players is a lot less than it would cost him to market Sports Direct in Europe and further afield.

3.) 05 Mar 2017 13:00:18
It all seems very strange camoo, I'm thinking he is playing mind games with king trying to force him to come out and tell us what exactly is going on like whether king has the money or not, because let's face it £30 million to a billionaire is not a lot of money really whereas it's forcing kings hand to respond.

4.) 05 Mar 2017 16:44:00
Oh, dear. Ashley CANNOT invest in Rangers without selling Newcastle first and nobody wants to buy them. It's a malicious story from a hostile source and is already doing what it was designed to do - cause arguments and dissent. Anyone who thinks for a second that Ashley would be good for Rangers is living in cloud cuckoo land. He'd milk us dry then 'Ken Bates' us!

5.) 05 Mar 2017 21:03:14
Just for the record, I think if he is genuine, we should take time to consider the offer then politely tell him to shuv it up his oversized bottom :-) :-) .

The only intention he has shown so far is ripping us off, and I am for once grateful to the SFA for not giving him their backing to increase his % in the club.

Yeah he has the cash to own us right out and bankroll us. But to play in eu comps, we would need to be within fair play rules and as a result probably playing in the Sports Direct Arena, with Sports Direct strip sponsors and consuming Sports Direct pies, burgers and cokes lol.

Everything we get we would also have to give back at interest.

6.) 05 Mar 2017 23:47:28
Wee_ecky, Ashley can have Rangers and Newcastle. 2 different assosiations no conflict unless both qualify for same european competition.

7.) 06 Mar 2017 20:01:39
Johnnymac: The Football League allows ownership of up to 10 per cent of other clubs, including those in Scotland, provided they are “held purely for investment purposes only”. Ashley's 9% is already close to what is considered to be a 'casual' shareholding and he can't go above that, Europe or no Europe.

I didn't see the game disappointing result tho. As I never seen the game can anyone explain the murty handstand. Just seen it on line and thought WTF is that all about. Has he just escaped the asylum? Or did he and his carer get separated for a few moments?

Camoo

1.) 19 Feb 2017 20:26:44
I thought it was embarrassing.

2.) 19 Feb 2017 20:34:04
Who acutally disagreed with that, you joking?

3.) 19 Feb 2017 20:45:45
We have got more to worry about than Murtys handstand. Our whole team lacks confidence and skill. Really hard to watch game today. Cannot believe the bookies have us odds on for most games this season. We are miles away from where we should be. I dread game at Parkhead now

4.) 19 Feb 2017 21:35:22
I know this sounds far fetched but we have the players to get us second or at worst third but we need a bastard of a manager like Walter or like Souness that will get some confidence back in the players that have ability and the rest will be replaced by youngsters!

5.) 20 Feb 2017 00:41:39
It's looking like we will get absolutely ripped apart from the eastenders with this team especially if we play as bad as we did today mate

20 Jan 2017 04:09:21
If we are to continue with 5 at the back, could we not play wee barrie as a cf? Pace skill eye for goal and creativity.

Camoo

1.) 20 Jan 2017 06:49:37
Thats if he is still a rangers player.

According to the record red bull are willing to invest in rangers afterall with a 6m bid for him. Not the kind of investment some were hoping for.

Its a good amount of money and if true I can't see us knocking it back.

2.) 20 Jan 2017 07:36:51
We haven't been playing 5 at the back Wilson has been playing left back just didn't go forward so mckay has been coming deeper still the same formation Wallace looks to be back this week so it will be back to normal

Hope hodson comes on for keirnan and wilson and hill go two at the back. Shocking game so far.

Camoo

1.) 28 Dec 2016 20:44:19
Confused with the defence line up to be honest, Hodson has proved he is our RB.

Kiernan made a mistake but we should be able to correct it in 45mins.

2.) 28 Dec 2016 20:48:35
I mean keirnan. We have played not too bad. Their goal dopped our heads a bit.

3.) 28 Dec 2016 22:45:35
I don't know what game you're watching camoo? Apart from the kiernan mistake rangers are playing well and in general its been a good game! We have to take our chances though! We should be well in front here!

It looks like we don't have the quality to play this "tiki taki" football our manager is preaching. So something needs to change.

We couldn't pass the ball after hearts came into the game.

Honestly looked like we bottled it and were in a complete panic.

I am sure that we have probably pinched kids from other teams as well. And I know they are just kids and can't enter into a legally binding contract (wouldn't expect them to either) .

But does anyone else not think that its a bit of a problem for Scottish football when one of the most promising players of a generation is pinched away from one of Scotland's biggest clubs and could end up no where near a first team squad for 5 or more years and still not make it rather than play for our first team for at least a season or so after nurturing him?

Its not sour grapes I really wish the kids well and hope he develops into the player its hoped he will turn into.

It's just a bit frustrating because, as a nation we don't exactly have a conveyor belt of this kind of talent coming through.

Darren played for us and them as a lad. He did grow up a Celtic fan tho I doubt it would make a jot of difference in his decision making process. Doubt he will sign for us though.

Seems to go against what's been said in the press recently. Obviously we don't know who they will be (dof and manager) but I do believe we will appoint both soon.

I'm sure if he was advised he was staying in charge till the end of the season he'd do a celebratory forward roll, followed by a cartwheel finishing with a handstand.

Hopefully at this point the board realise that he is a nut case and give the job to an experienced manager (even till the end of the season)

People are allowed to have their opinion and its understandable there is a grudge there. But I wouldn't wish what happened to us on any club. Its a shame on the fans. Hopefully its at worse just admin and they don't go burst completely. Be difficult to come back from for them.

To be fair even taking financial stuff out the picture I think a one dundee team would be great. If the fans could get behind the idea, they could become another Hearts or Aberdeen.

I think merging a few teams close to each other could benefit the Scottish game to be honest. Would let teams fill their stadiums and be more competitive.

But its all down to what is acceptable to fans. let's face it we/ they would ever want to become a rantic fan

Our defenders can't pick up their men for corners how would they cope man marking 2 of Celtics better players? I hope we do well would be nice to take at least a point off them for the season.

He could have signed better defenders rather than having a team full of midfielders. Look at new the summer midfield signings - Crooks, Windass, Rossiter, Barton, Kracjar. Based on game time we could have had two decent CBs

Id clear most put but problem will be getting folk to buy them or pay their wages. On their form they are no getting into English Championship, so lower leauges only as no other Scottish clubs (who would take them) could afford to pay their wages.

Would take jelavic back in a second. Must be a decent age but the lad was class and i'd imagine he'd score goals here.

Camoo

{Ed039's Note - Jelavic is , wont be 32 until August)
