Rumour mill in Liverpool is that gerrard is going to be Kopp no 2 after his assistant chucked it following a burst up can't see anything about the gerrard aspect but definitely burst up with Kopp and his no2 this is from work colleagues in the area and it's circulating down there ever had that sinking feeling were about to get kicked square in the plums again!

Klopps assistant has been given the rest of the season away from 1st team duties due to personal circumstances. Nothing to do with a fall out and doesn't affect his employment with Liverpool

However, I believe this Gerrard appointment has been in the pipeline for a while, hence why Gerrard was at the last Ibrox OF game.

Cant blame him - he did ok in the period immediately after the January transfer window when we won 9 games out of 10 - but when it came to the crunch he was found out tactically.
But this mess is not Murtys fault - Its down to the board, they took a stupid gamble with Pedro that never even remotely looked like paying off then when the rubbish hit the fan they got rid and took an age to give it to Murty. They have shored up problems in the team with loan signings who won't improve the overall foundation of the team as they will end up going back to their parent club or moving on elsewhere. Also while i'm at it we were the leagues top scorers and have signed about 500 midfielders over the last 2 years - do none of them notice we can't defend? why not sign some defenders?
Aside from this debacle - we have the ongoing press office farce where we make petty and frankly embarrassing statements making mountains out of molehills and trying to deflect from the board and on field problems, no doubt toxic Jim Traynor at the back of it - he was a pretty useless hack and now earns his coin making us a laughing stock.
So Murty ultimately wasnt good enough but he did his best and always spoke with dignity and respect and portrayed our club in a good manner. He didn't create this shambles though.

I agree the board have placed Murty in the firing line to take all the bullets. Murty always spoke well and took all the flak at the press conferences. Yes, Murty is not a Rangers manager. But I think the board put him in a position where he was never going to win. The players he has are no where near good enough to challenge for the league. But if the players need to be told how to play when it comes to an Old Firm game, then maybe they shouldn’t be at the club. The players are professionals (allegedly) and should be able to adjust on the pitch to deal with what is facing them.

If as suggested in the press today mark Allen gave the board a list of managers before GM appointment but they overruled it and went for Mcinnes? so who on the board has the necessary football background to make that call because it went so well? if this is true what is the point of DOF if board go against him on football matters
It's a waste of a wage that could go towards a real manager.

If true, that’s strange.
I assumed one of the main reasons a DOF was out in lace was to help with the board make decisions on the footballing side of things as they clearly don’t have the expertise to make sound judgement.

Thought that was a really good press conference no outlandish claims thought Steven Gerrard came across as a very confident guy with an underlying determination to be fair I thought Dave King was good also Can't imagine gerrard and mcallister putting up with any crap
I'm feeling good for once as a bear I really hope we get 2nd now give him a great Base to work from.

Agree totally. Steven Gerrard came across as cool, determined and he knows what he wants. Streets ahead already of Pedro and Warburton. Will be interesting to see how many players lift their game tomorrow and the last 2 games away. It should show up the real chancers in our dressing room. We all need to get behind Stevie G (Ger) . This is so positive for the club. great appointment

I remembered a quote from souness years ago he said show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser sums up our mob majority seen to have no real issue with dropping points we have no natural leaders on or off the pitch we gave statements like ahead of the curve further alienating the support a chairman / owner who causes more bother than he fixes an assistant chairman we've never heard a peep from during the last week contradictory stories about what or if anything happened in the dressing room
