Story online saying Rangers are apparently 1 of 4 clubs interested in Brentford midfielder Toumani Diagouraga . Leeds, Huddersfield an Fulham are the other 3

Daily Record has just posted saying Rangers and Hearts have agreed a 65,000 development fee for Jason Holt

Dave1872

1.) 21 Jul 2015 17:19:15
thats a great price for him I really thought we would be looking at something like 125k. Great business again from the Rangers board.

2.) 21 Jul 2015 18:38:32
Really proud of our board- ousted the snake oil salesmen -told us they would invest in team and build for future- absolutely true to their word!
After difficult times, its a great time to be a Bear!:-)
Loads of work to do,however, foundations are in palce

3.) 21 Jul 2015 23:39:19
Genuinely looking forward to this season, we seem to be bringing in the right type of young hungry players

4.) 22 Jul 2015 02:20:40
He was exellent tonight

5.) 22 Jul 2015 08:32:27
Tho he was quiet

6.) 22 Jul 2015 10:10:38
QUIET?! He was great first 45 minutes

18 Jul 2015 19:07:39
Jim White just tweeted that Wigan and Rangers have reached a verbal agreement over Waghorn & Tavernier!

Dave1872

1.) 18 Jul 2015 21:26:17
goodo another job well done don't hear much from the moaners now things are ticking away nicely

2.) 18 Jul 2015 20:23:16
Looks true enough , still to agree personal terms

3.) 18 Jul 2015 20:55:25
Loan deals

4.) 18 Jul 2015 23:05:21
Jim white that hasn't tweeted in Iver 3 years aye

5.) 19 Jul 2015 07:57:25
Not loan deals, transfers. Reported in DR too

6.) 19 Jul 2015 08:15:41
You have the wrong Jim white cause he tweets a lot, nearly every day actually

7.) 19 Jul 2015 08:33:51
He did tweet this last night. Permanent deals for both.

8.) 19 Jul 2015 09:16:45
Sunday Mail and daily record confirming this story and Jason holt will be next and still chasing Scott Allan

9.) 19 Jul 2015 14:39:37
Have Wigan got any more duds we can sign?

Reminds me of when PLG signed the three players of the one Austrian side. Let's hope one of them turns out to be even half as good as sasa papac

16 Jul 2015 11:04:36
Herald are reporting that we have had a bid rejected for JamesTavernier . Wabara deal definitely dead from the looks of things

Dave1872

1.) 16 Jul 2015 12:09:56
It doesn't say we've had a bid rejected, we've put in an offer

2.) 16 Jul 2015 12:35:43
Nope we've had a bid rejected. Actually

3.) 16 Jul 2015 12:38:56
had a bid rejected

4.) 16 Jul 2015 12:43:51
Bid rejected by Wigan

5.) 16 Jul 2015 13:16:11
Hopefully they will keep rejecting them. It's a complete joke going for him and the other Wigan player.

3 goals in 24 games and not wanted at Wigan. What is MW thinking? Other guy not good enough, loaned out, not good enough there either. Seriously what is MW thinking?

There are some cracking players in championship, many bargins to he had but these guys are neither.

I have this memory of DK saying we would "over investment". Reality is massive cutbacks.

6.) 16 Jul 2015 13:32:01
Luigi,One of the teams he was loaned out to are after him permanently. So that blows the not good enough theory out the water. The Wigan fans rate him and want to keep him. Have you ever even seen him play?

7.) 16 Jul 2015 13:43:48
I have actually. Have you?

You seem to have assumed I haven't.

None of the Wigan fans I know (I sometimes work in Wigan so I know a few) rate him. They are laughing at us.

8.) 16 Jul 2015 13:34:39
Luigi

Let's judge things after a bit of time has passed. I'm fed up with you writing off players, the management and the board before a ball is kicked. Your negativity is mildly irritating.

9.) 16 Jul 2015 13:37:09
I think that's why Aird played RB

10.) 16 Jul 2015 13:54:06
Lugi gee in eh your lack of ambition for our team depressin you haven't had a good thing to say in day and how can you ask wigan fans when he was loaned out and they can't laugh at any 1 we need structure and time to try takeour team forward is now

11.) 16 Jul 2015 13:54:31
Luigi seems to be living in the dick advocat era wher he thinks rangers can compete and spend at a level scottish football is no longer at. MW knows down south.you don't possitive outlook is the players being looked at are relatively young and have room to improve and flourish.

Man united have just singed Italian international who only a few years back was being loaned to the lesser leagues in Italian football

12.) 16 Jul 2015 13:54:37
Just to let you know, when I saw the article earlier about Tavernier, all it said was we had put an offer in for him, NOW the herald are saying it's been rejected

13.) 16 Jul 2015 14:25:58
The negative attitude from luigi is ridiculously over the top. We over invested to get to the point we are now. The tried and so called tested didn't work. Give the team time see where we are come the close of the transfer window. The same guys that were screaming throw the kids in are now screaming, forget the kids throw money at the problems.

14.) 16 Jul 2015 14:52:38
Yeah, I live in Wigan. And almost all have said if they lose these type of players they will not get out of that league. Players can play at a level below there standard, find form and improve and be better players in tougher leagues. It has happened all through football. These players fit the bill. Have faith and get behind the club

15.) 16 Jul 2015 15:29:05
Perhaps MW reckons that this is the level Scottish football is at and has no need to invest so heavily this season. IF we are promoted then that's when the level of player has to improve. Who's to say that these players can't do a job in the SPL with the addition of more quality. Let's hold fire and see how our team, management and season fare to Xmas anyway before we start going bonkers. I for one feel we are in a MUCH better place than we were in the last few years. Oh and I would hate a fun day out with Luigi, might just tip me over the edge!

16.) 16 Jul 2015 17:44:08
I think people are forgeting haris vuckic was farmed out on loan to the championship and branded not good anoth .then came to us and was loved

17.) 16 Jul 2015 20:43:17
Good point BP. I'm still not that convinced by him. There is no denying he has a wonderful left foot and can surely score at this level but is he the type of player MW is going for. He seems to want the team to play with a bit of pace, something this boy lacks.

Alan Stubbs interviewed today and he has said that Rangers are the only club to have submitted bids for Allan. So the 375k bid from Rotherham is complete nonsense. Don't really care if he arrives now or next summer. The league is ours either way WATP

Dave1872

1.) 06 Aug 2015 19:48:00
Dave I think we should have enough to win the league this season. However, I don't think we should be shouting it from the rooftops before a ball has been kicked in anger

2.) 06 Aug 2015 22:54:06
Dave if I was sat behind you, I'd say sit down kid.

23 Jul 2015 00:53:10
Daily Mail have reported it was a " sizeable " bid we had rejected for Allan, yet Daily Record says it was100k?? Dunno who to believe

Dave1872

1.) 23 Jul 2015 08:32:42
He plays For a championship club and he's in the last year of his contract, it's a fair amount.

If hibs are wanting 700 000+ tell them to bolt, Ryan Christie would be just as good!

21 Jul 2015 15:37:38
For all the Bears not going tonight. The game is being shown live on Rangers TV for a one off 5.99. Looking forward to it myself. I know it's a friendly but I'm anxious to see the new look squad / system at work

Dave1872

1.) 21 Jul 2015 16:47:33
How do u pick up rangers TV?

{Ed039's Note - Via Rangerstv.tv and then pay for the game)

2.) 21 Jul 2015 17:56:42
Cheers ed I'll maybe have a look

{Ed039's Note - I have paid already, I live too far away to make it from work so this is quite useful for me)

3.) 21 Jul 2015 18:47:38
It says you need to be outside the UK to watch it? Or can I register and pay the £5.99 then that it?

{Ed039's Note - I see it says that now, but it didnt earlier, plus if the match wasnt available in the UK they wouldnt have the £5.99 there, only the dollar sign)

4.) 21 Jul 2015 19:22:58
So will we get to see it if we pay the money and live here?

{Ed039's Note - No its live, I have started watching the pre match coverage already)

19 Jul 2015 11:57:17
News story saying Craig Mickail Smith is wanted by Southend. This guy is a free agent right now. Fair enough he is 31 but maybe worth a punt depending on wages!

16 Jul 2015 11:26:29
I am relatively new to the site and from reading various posts a lot of people are going on about DK not puttin in the cash he promised etc. It's my opinion that he is going to invest, but there is no point sinking 8.5 to 10 million into a team to then need to invest more money again once we are promoted. I think they are playing it smart! Get us to the Premiership with as little money spent as possible and then invest millions to Keep us there and make us competitive! Then we can push on the actually challenge. So I think the buying policy right now is what we need and the the new youth policy will yield results!!

Dave1872

1.) 16 Jul 2015 11:44:45
I agree with that dave1872 I don't see why we need to throw money at everything to try and win a league we should be comfortable in winning/getting promoted from. the guys we are bringing in I don't know a lot about but I believe Warburton and weir know wxactly what type of players they need and are going the right way about it. i'm confident this is us turning the corner to getting back to where we should be

Think the only bit of truth in that OP is that Oduwa and Ball are both out of contract awith Spurs at the end of this season . Could be if they enjoy there time up here Warbs could try an make the switch Permanent.

IF we get Allan. An I really hope we do. I can see it being 400k upfront with a 10% sell on clause. That way his would get more from a future sale. I can't see Stubbs wanting to sell him to us unless it's something along those lines.

Waghorn an Tavernier are both permanent signings from Wigan. They weren't loaned to us!

if that is the case then it would be some very shrewd and clever business by MW. The player / players show what they can offer during the loan spell and then the gaffer decides if he wants them on a permanent or not. Can't see why Spurs wouldn't want to keep and develop Oduwa though! . Would be surprised if they just let him leave

Blessing in disguise in my opinion! . Had we signed him then. He prob woulda been sold in January by the old board. Just like McLeod

Tavernier is a bit of a dead ball specialist. Most of his goals last season were free kicks. That's why he has a decent goal scoring record for a defender. His delivery into the box is very good aswell. Hopefully a good addition
