Alot of people saying that Wallace will be included in the deal for Lafferty, i heard that Halliday was put forward but Hearts rejected this.

Halliday is not even going to get on the bench when Dorrans and Rossiter return. It was Mark Allen that tried to negotiate this, not SG. Same as The Windass deal, SG wanted to keep Windass, he still left.

Gerrard has come out and said he is happy with Halliday and spoke about him in glowing terms, I read into that that Halliday is going nowhere!

We really do need to sort our defence out, but if the £4m quoted in the press for Skrtel is accurate, I really have to question the wisdom of pursuing this deal and paying out this amount for a guy who is 33. Fair enough if he was on a Bosman; in that case he would be a great signing, but he has a year left on his contract and we are supposedly bidding £4m for him. absolutely bonkers in my opinion.

I have slated Morelos in the past but he was outstanding tonight. Worked his socks off, held up play, won loads of free kicks high up the park, brought others into play, set up the goal.
Can you not see the improvement from last year (Morelos and the team in general? )

Gav, Morelos was one of our best players tonight. You must be one of the supporters who just have it set in your mind that he’s pish no matter how he plays. Give the boy credit where credit is due, he played well for being up front on his own. I’ll be the first to say he was rank rotten against schkupi but tonight he was brilliant.

As i have said a million times, SKRTEL, LUCAS, DEFOE etc are not even targets yet. Gerrsrd hasn't even assesed the squad. We are going with msrk allens targets, Gerrard may have an input after 1st June but we will be in the market until the end of August.

If you listen to him speak in interviews he says football is on his mind all the time. So if you’re thinking he’s not starting work until June 1st you’re mistaken. No major transfers will be made until we know if we make it into the Europa League group stages, then all future income from that tournament will be spent "net" on certain players. So everyone on here shouting for Lucas, Skrtel and Solanke are a long way off. We will be signing players right up until the end of August if we get into the group stages.

I'd expect there to be two budgets available, one if we make it to group stages and one if we don't otherwise there will just be one higher budget gambling on qualification and having to suck up the loss if we end up not qualifying.
It takes time to approach and bring in players, leaving it to the last minute drives up prices and makes it more difficult for us.
