Saw a post on x (twitter) earlier saying next week there will be an announcement regarding Adidas, with the number 55 beside it, now I know, I know, it's twitter, most likely nonsense but I'll keep my eye on it just in case. When does our deal with castore come to an end? End of this season or end of next? And who would you like to be our future kit manufacturers?

Ger88

1.) 29 Mar 2024 14:27:09
End of 24/ 25 season Ger.

2.) 29 Mar 2024 14:35:08
Cheers John, when would we be legally able to negotiate with other manufacturers or is there no set date? Or would we have to give castore notice that we won't be renewing? Sorry to trouble you with this just find the business side of things interesting.

3.) 29 Mar 2024 14:52:16
Hopefully not. Adidas stuff is absolutely shocking these days. I'd stick with castore if kappa wasn't an option.

4.) 29 Mar 2024 14:53:37
Imo Ger we don’t require to give Castore any notice as we signed a fixed term contract.

I would imagine rangers are sounding the market at present and feel this would include Castore

Remember it will depend if certain clauses are included in contract re notice etc

Remember recent it was posted that castore are to become European distribution online for Puma, some feel that may possibly be an indication where we end up next, I’m not so sure.

5.) 29 Mar 2024 15:05:16
Have to admit the Castore stuff is brilliant. Look at the tramps kit this season. It's honking and the quality is gash!
I'd stick with the boys from Merseyside.

6.) 29 Mar 2024 15:19:03
Kappa ? good one tjn.

7.) 29 Mar 2024 15:29:39
First year I have ever bought the home away and third kit. Castore have improved massively over the time they have been our kit supplier and I think we should stick it out and stay with them for the coming years.

8.) 29 Mar 2024 15:30:35
Aye I'm fine and happy with castore should we continue with them, as you said though John there will be moving parts and clauses etc, and undoubtedly the down side money value with potential suitors will have a big say I'd imagine.

9.) 29 Mar 2024 15:56:09
Home and 3rd kit, no complaints in any way, gd quality. ?.

10.) 29 Mar 2024 16:33:28
Hope we leave castore never been a big fan of their stuff.

11.) 29 Mar 2024 16:45:39
I’ve found their stuff alright but it’s all about the best deal for Rangers especially when you see what that mob are getting in merchandise.

12.) 29 Mar 2024 17:16:36
Kappa are quite easily the best manufacturer going just now.

Adidas are a shambles. Their Euros kits have gone down like a lead balloon, as have their 23/ 24 kits.

13.) 29 Mar 2024 17:34:16
Agree flb its all about the money for the most part. We made Castore no doubt about it so if they have a business head they will pay what we are worth.
Just don't want the Adidas rubbish!

14.) 29 Mar 2024 17:41:26
Would prefer nike but I did like a lot of the adidas kits back in the 90s.

15.) 29 Mar 2024 18:20:14
Just last week on here someone mentioned Ashley had his grubby paws all over Castore too.

16.) 29 Mar 2024 18:45:25
Very happy with castore now, quality is definitely far better, happy with every jersey this season.

17.) 29 Mar 2024 20:23:07
I agree with you My star ?I think the castore kits are quality and hand on heart, i think rangers and castore will extend their partnership, beyond the original contract of 5 years ?I think castore will do everything to keep us as our kit makers and tbh i just want the best deal on offer for our club, plain and simple ?.

18.) 29 Mar 2024 20:42:29
Tjn who is sponsored by kappa i genuinely can't think of one? Fulham maybe.

19.) 29 Mar 2024 22:08:46
John227,was it not umbro that castore bought into a sort of partnership with mate ? as opposed to puma ?.

20.) 29 Mar 2024 22:15:08
I don't think it really matters who our kit manufacturer is.
Tops will always fly of the shelves.
Best deal possible for the club is all that matters.

21.) 29 Mar 2024 22:48:47
Dado a lot of Italian clubs. Fiorintina, genoa, brescia, bari.

The venezia kits the last few years have been classics.

Villa, monaco and napoli have all had stunners with them too.

I've heard adidas have been granted licences from previous sponsors for a classic kit range, I'd take them if they were reissued.

22.) 29 Mar 2024 22:53:47
Kappa sponsor quite a wide range of foreign teams, f1 aswell, Hull City and some minor English teams, but they sponsor the mighty Pollok and East Kilbride, had to have a nosey to find out?.

23.) 29 Mar 2024 23:13:39
Walter not sure.

24.) 30 Mar 2024 06:17:01
Its not as easy as just switching kit manufaturer, castore do a lot more than just make our kits, pretty sure they pretty much run the retail side of the club, website, shops etc. They have been good for us and we have been great for them.

25.) 30 Mar 2024 07:36:43
Yes SWS it was umbro that castore have teamed up with. My very first Rangers strip was made by umbro and i also had the matching track suit. Both were probably better suited for playing football in the Arctic as the material was that heavy and i'll never forget the trackie bottoms that had big bell bottom flares. A wee bit different to the skin tight feather weight gear that now gets used.

26.) 30 Mar 2024 19:30:06
Ger88

Take addidas all day, their kit always more attainable. In every sports shop poss.

27.) 30 Mar 2024 19:39:17
RTG

Just bought addidas Arsenal 3rd strip. Top notch.

28.) 30 Mar 2024 19:43:58
Copland,

No they don't. We have merchandising/ marketing manager does all this. Castore simply make strips, end of their profit making probability.

29.) 30 Mar 2024 22:50:08
When you think of kappa you think tracksuits, bangles, girls hair braided and bottles of hooch.

30.) 31 Mar 2024 07:42:39
U really are weird Dado??.

11 Jan 2024 09:18:24
Morning folks, spoke to a pal and former player last night for the first time in a while, and of course the topic of transfers came up, he's not directly in the know and will likely be drip fed bits and bobs from other former employees and he doesn't share much with me regarding this, although he was the one that told me about Steve Davis house hunting a week before the story of him coming back broke, so pinch of salt that was a while ago.
Steven Alzate very much being considered, depends on David Weir offering him a new contract or not, that would determine pre contract or loan.
Galatasaray have made contact with Yilmaz, and Barasic is being looked at on a pre contract from Dinamo Zagreb, so left back will be a priority, nothing shocking there, but the name I was told was Gijs Smal, haven't been on in a while so apologies if this name has already been brought up. Says he hasn't heard anything about Owen Beck.
The Batshuayi news came out of the blue, but says not to dismiss it entirely yet, but a striker is on the January shopping list.
Nothing mentioned about Shankland, or the winger from Vitese but again he won't hear or know everything or maybe knows nothing but was an interesting wee chat anyway and thought I'd pass it on.
Also happy new year folks hope you all had a good one and here's to your health.

Ger88

1.) 11 Jan 2024 09:30:21
Cheers ger88 , informative post, follow follow.

2.) 11 Jan 2024 10:12:21
Good info Ger88. Thank you.

3.) 11 Jan 2024 12:21:31
Cheers guys, hope you're both well.

4.) 11 Jan 2024 12:22:28
Nearly had a heart atrack for a min i thot u saod we were offering davis a new deal ??.

5.) 11 Jan 2024 12:23:04
Be honest mate you’ve no spoke to no one, every bit of info you’ve stated has also been stated on FF and everywhere else, literally.

6.) 11 Jan 2024 12:48:52
Id like the Belgian boy that used to play for Chelsea, as I don’t think Shankland is realistic in this window. So we’d have to take some kind of risk anyway, so a guy that has scored in a lot of top level leagues and has a 1 outta 2 ratio with his country isn’t the worst idea! Plus he has a point to prove to get into the Belgian side. But I know we’ve been stung before.

I just think Dessers is pure rotten! We’re no winning any league with him upfront! Stating the obvious I know. This is just my personal opinion- if we have to take a gamble, take a gamble on a someone proven. Yes I get his wages are big, but it’s only 6 months, and could help in Europe.

If what the reports are saying is true and we were offered him, and turned it down! I would hope Rangers re consider. Especially if it’s only loans we’re looking at! Then I’d like Shankland in the summer. When the price might be lower. And if it’s no the Belgian boy I would like to see someone like that. Only if Defoe was 8 years younger, I was a huge fan of Jermain Defoe.

7.) 11 Jan 2024 14:34:41
Famous good way to start off posting, slag off another person who is only, passing on a rumour to rumour page.

8.) 11 Jan 2024 14:55:19
thefamous, I have never been on FF or use Facebook. Paul sorry mate ?.

9.) 11 Jan 2024 15:04:54
And fyi, my friend is a commercial executive for an spfl league club, and formerly held a similar position with a premiership club, which is where he met the former McLeish era rangers player and became friends with, and through the odd game of fives that's how i met him, speculate and doubt all you want, but i won't be name dropping and unlike you thefamous will happily enjoy engaging and offering something to the site, unlike you. ??.

10.) 11 Jan 2024 17:45:43
Good to see my comment hasn’t bothered you pal lol no slagging anyone, just saying every bit of info you’re passing off as ITK is and has literally been in circulation for weeks/ days ??.

11.) 11 Jan 2024 18:05:37
Why is it when some people come onto a Rumour page and state what they have heard and from where. They are shot down and challanged where they heard the rumours from.

We all want the best for our club and this is a Rumours Page. So don't go shooting down people when they post.

I myself have heard that Clement will make use of more of our youth players, to develop them further. Also coming in this transfer window will be a striker and not someone who has played for Chelsea. Also left back and centre half and if Raskin is sold this window a defensive midfielder will be brought in. Hopefully someone who can control a ball and pass well.

12.) 11 Jan 2024 18:58:28
Galatasary most definitely want Yilmaz as I have mentioned previously and as I understand it, Fernabahce should not be dismissed, (although whether this is just mischief making on their part I'm not sure) .
It was suggested to me that this is where the Batshuyi rumour emanated from, (that a loan deal for Batshuyi would be part of the deal) . Presumably the deal would be structured in such away where Rangers could avoid any sell on clause or additional payment to Besiktas. (I am not affair with the terms of Yilmaz original transfer so cannot comment further on this) .

13.) 11 Jan 2024 20:31:10
Hasn't rattled me at all mate, as I've said if you can read properly I haven't been on here in a while, so apologies if any has been previously mentioned, and there doesn't seem to be anything shocking or out of the box with what I passed on, and that's just it, a couple wee bits of info to pass on, you know, to a rumours site, whether true or not is anyone's guess, but that's how this site works mate, so tru to get on board and work that out.

31 Mar 2023 16:26:31
Thomson ikasha signs until 2025.

Ger88

21 Mar 2023 00:08:52
Portobello u15 striekr Filip Skorb due to join us on trial shortly, already had "successful" trial with Leeds, investing big on the long term future good to see.

Ger88

1.) 21 Mar 2023 09:49:42
How good is this if English clubs can come in a pay a development fee only? Or am I missing something?

2.) 21 Mar 2023 11:44:31
It is players we need for first team for new season, never mind the long term.

3.) 21 Mar 2023 12:16:00
Does anyone know what is happening with Thompson Ishaka? John27?

4.) 21 Mar 2023 12:49:06
I’ve heard deal done from 1/ 7. May be playing as trialist in Ireland this weekend Rabbi.

5.) 21 Mar 2023 13:05:45
Staunch we always need to have an eye on the future, or are you one of these short sighted people that would prefer we go back to financial mismanagement?

6.) 21 Mar 2023 15:53:12
La Cala, how do u not complain when rangers snap up 15 plus players for development fee.

7.) 21 Mar 2023 16:17:30
That's great news John, he undoubtedly had the talent from the snippets I've seen, hopefully he's got the mentality too. Could be big profit for the future.

8.) 21 Mar 2023 19:05:43
Youth players for first team?

What is that?

?

As if! Youth team are Small developing fee business that's all.

9.) 21 Mar 2023 21:02:45
If we didn't buy youth we wouldn't have Lovelace or Rice just a couple and many more, don't understand fans that don't see the point of bringing talented boys in, we've definitely stepped up in bringing quality youngster in, Ishaka looks a talent.

10.) 22 Mar 2023 00:55:54
Lennon Miller that’s at Motherwell is another we are trying to attract. Kids a player and big interest from down south.

11.) 22 Mar 2023 11:56:55
Lennon miller rejected rangers and signed a three year professional deal at Motherwell. An excellent player with a bright future.

12.) 22 Mar 2023 12:23:11
He did John and it will get Motherwell a decent fee, I still think he will go this summer.

13.) 22 Mar 2023 13:16:50
Mb Scotty, he should try hang on another season and get minutes at spfl level.

14.) 22 Mar 2023 15:19:59
Wouldn't be overly surprised if Ishaka and Lovelace were regular starters for the first team in the future, both have great potential.

15.) 22 Mar 2023 20:01:37
Re. Lennon miller. he's had game time to showcase what he might have.
We never give the lads a chance all well bringing them in but we would get a higher fee if they actually got minutes.

16.) 24 Mar 2023 04:00:57
Beale there is a point the hope of another bassey it's just frustrating as we never give any youth a fair shot at the first team.

5 Min here and there and sitting on first team bench every week is idiotic. You should always look to give youth a chance when a couple up at home.

17.) 24 Mar 2023 04:02:33
Mark44 I hope your right but I seriously doubt it.

Think Beale has already shown he will not give our own youth a chance he bombed out devine pretty sharply even though boy done nowt wrong.

13 Mar 2023 22:17:22
We are believed to be interested in Panathanaikos skipper, central midfielder and Greece international Dimitris Kourbelis who is out of contract in summer.

Ger88

1.) 13 Mar 2023 23:59:08
Would be a positive signing if true!

2.) 14 Mar 2023 00:10:46
Leader, isn’t scared of a tackle and can shoot from distance. Would be a good signing.

3.) 14 Mar 2023 09:01:23
This is a market we should be looking at.

4.) 14 Mar 2023 10:25:20
No Thanks we need to be investing in the future at 29 no sell on value I'd rather stick with Jack whilst he's getting on he would be a cheaper option and can still do the job.

5.) 14 Mar 2023 11:18:29
Totally with you Fraser, why show interest in a 30 time called international player who could be about to captain his club side to a league title, whilst jack and arfield are out of contract soon and there's no guarantee either will sign, that's potentially two players down, but let's not look.

6.) 14 Mar 2023 11:35:22
Not to mention the possibility of Kamara being sold, there's more than one cm position we need depth and quality cover for and with Jacks injury record there's no guarantee he'll play every game, so aye let's not look at a proven international player available on a free and let's maintain the core of the squad that has regressed further behind Celtic. Sorry Fraser mate not a personal attack but I genuinely don't understand your thinking here. why can't we keep jack and get this boy hypothetically?

7.) 14 Mar 2023 13:21:05
Id be looking at the braga skipper.

8.) 14 Mar 2023 15:40:16
Could be a temporary replacement for sands until a long term target becomes available.

9.) 14 Mar 2023 15:42:47
Christensen good player but no chance premier league bound I think.

10.) 14 Mar 2023 15:44:44
Fraser if you want to win things you need the right blend you also don't know which players are planning on an exit.

I am also big on giving youth and young players a chance but they also need experience around them.

11.) 14 Mar 2023 22:15:36
Celtic not long signed a guy over 30 and he is ripping the league up but no we can’t sign a player that’s 29 what do people smoke in here on a daily basis as I would like some.

12.) 15 Mar 2023 04:03:16
Storm if you find out pass some to me please aswell mate, I can't sleep at night reading some of these replies lol.

13.) 15 Mar 2023 07:04:50
We have tried the investing in the future stuff but at the end of the day we also need to win the league, get the guys in to do it.

I know Davis has said before he would eventually like to get into management, but depending on how he feels once he's 100% rehabilitated and whether or not he wants to carry on playing, wouldn't it be wise to keep him as part of the coaching staff? Knows the club and Scottish game, has respect of his peers, ticks the boxes with regards to appointing someone in the know of the club and the Scottish game as a whole.

Ger88

1.) 17 Oct 2023 14:27:18
I would like to see the club go down the route of Bayern Munich where ex players run the football side of the club.
All the football roles filled with ex players and it helps keep the institution feel of the club no matter who the manager or players are.

Also like the way Barcelona operate in that ex players take up roles on the youth side of club and can progress through to manager.

Ajax are similar to both those clubs.

I like that set up and would like rangers to try and put a similar set up in place going forward.

2.) 17 Oct 2023 14:37:42
Ger88, just because Davis knows the club doesn't mean he'll suit management.

3.) 17 Oct 2023 14:52:52
I'm only interested in what they can bring to the club.
They must bring a value in a professional capacity.
I'm not interested in 'cheerleading' roles just for the sake of it.
We have 50,000 fans every second week who can tell the players what it means to represent our great club. And what we expect in terms of standards.

4.) 17 Oct 2023 15:24:15
100% agree MrPH

Any player or individual moving into a role must add value

Exactly what clement and Bisgrove said.

5.) 17 Oct 2023 15:47:49
I agree with that Stevie. It doesn’t have to be that all the roles are filled by ex players and there definitely should not be a “jobs for the boys” situation. However, there should be scope for the right former player who possesses key attributes and coaching skills to be slotted into the right key role within the club. The aim should be to help develop the attitudes of younger players and to prepare them to have a level of resilience when they enter the first team and play in front of what is - quite rightly - a very demanding group of supporters.

6.) 17 oct 2023 16:06:30
im pretty sure they won't hand outjobs for no good reason, can't remember when we have actually, if a former player happens to fit any role that's a good thing.

7.) 17 Oct 2023 16:12:03
I agree 1872. Its not jobs for the boys if it's done correctly. So let's do it correctly.

8.) 17 Oct 2023 17:01:43
Awe without a doubt the ex players would have to have what it takes to do the job.
In n on uncertain terms would it be ‘jobs for the boys’ as they say.
But ex payers/ new coaches need a start somewhere and I would certainly, over the next few years, try and implement a similar structure as to the clubs I’ve mentioned.
Just what I think I’d good, doesn’t mean it will happen.

9.) 17 Oct 2023 20:16:17
Mark44, I said he ticks the boxes for a coaching role, I never said anything about management other than Davis himself has said he would eventually like to go into management. Have a re read mate.

15 Oct 2023 09:47:36
Talksport saying it's Clement, with Muscat being told he's no longer being considered ??.

Ger88

1.) 15 Oct 2023 10:25:24
I see skybet have closed the rangers next manager market now.

2.) 15 Oct 2023 10:30:19
Clement is a very good appointment by the board, next a good DOF to work with him in strengthening the squad in January but for now the main focus is to steady the ship and give this team some identity and clear ideas on how to play. ??.

3.) 15 Oct 2023 10:37:07
Much your mate get back on his 6/ 1 muscat shout Sws?

24 May 2023 18:21:34
Dowell announced tonight, that's it official on the club's social media.

Ger88

1.) 24 May 2023 18:40:33
Good luck to the boy I haven’t seen him play so can’t comment on what he can and can’t do, hope he hits the ground runnning.

2.) 24 May 2023 19:16:46
Not seen him play either but I'm sure someone mentioned on here that dowell was keeping cantwell out the team.

3.) 24 May 2023 19:28:04
If he does as good as cantwell, nice one.

24 Apr 2023 13:40:10
Afternoon folks, disappointing isn't the word for yesterday. But to cheer me up just at there and watch a YouTube video of all Marco Negri's 36 goals for us, what a player he was, if only he stayed fit (or not been pumping team mates Mrs) he would've had 50 that season. I'm fact I think I'm even more depressed now ?. Realistically, iknow it's hard to make a fair comparison, but let's say he was here now scoring 30 plus goals a season and was fit with time on his contract, how much would we be looking at for him? Crazy money anyway I'd reckon. Anyway hope you are all having as good a Monday as possible.

Ger88

1.) 24 Apr 2023 14:59:57
Ger88, I love seeing those big names from the past such as Marco Negri, how I'd love to see players of that quality from our past in our present team.

2.) 24 Apr 2023 15:07:34
Honestly can't stand negri. Could get out if the club quick enough. Now mentions rangers at every chance to stay relevent. Playing in all legends games.

3.) 24 Apr 2023 15:22:52
Didn’t play in the last legends game.

4.) 24 Apr 2023 15:48:03
Negri is leach, wanted nothing to do with rangers and now he’s retired makes money off the club.

5.) 24 Apr 2023 16:05:09
In the gaffer's own words when describing Negri, "he was a strange boy"! Started on fire, never celebrated, and looked like a wee boy who had lost a tenner and found 5p, and after 6 months, he spit the dummy, and downed tools. Now, all of a sudden, it's a total Rangers love in with him and he's always bigging us up?! Hmmmmmm?!

6.) 24 Apr 2023 16:49:13
Never liked Negri! Like you say guys, he’s now a Rangers man…. Not for me and didn’t want to play for us.

7.) 25 Apr 2023 12:04:17
Whether you liked him or not we could be doing with a striker of his ilk thesedays.

8.) 28 Apr 2023 08:44:07
Agree Gerr.

22 Mar 2023 00:01:59
Juan Alegria was out to dinner in the west end with Morelos the other night, so the young man is here but does anyone know if he's fit or still needs extra training after returning home for a spell John27 any info mate?

Ger88

1.) 22 Mar 2023 07:24:01
I wrote he was back, had been in Columbia for two months, training every day now with rangers.

2.) 22 Mar 2023 07:53:28
The boy has been told he has no future with Rangers and will never be in first team. Rangers looking to offload him.

3.) 22 Mar 2023 08:03:35
Another one that looks good against plumbers (lowland league) then can't make the raise. We must come away from the lowland league as the standard is garbage, yes they play against men but the development of the players is suffering for it.

4.) 22 Mar 2023 08:44:37
Sweep yet he played in league one with Falkirk, u really do not understand how a player develops.

5.) 22 Mar 2023 09:03:27
Aye and never made the cut John.

6.) 22 Mar 2023 09:10:27
And we will never hear of him again, once he goes.

7.) 22 Mar 2023 09:25:38
Sweep excellent player for Falkirk.

8.) 22 Mar 2023 10:31:44
Falkirk fans loved him sweep.

9.) 22 Mar 2023 10:34:09
What do u mean he never made cut. What cut.

Alegria was highly rated when we signed him and like a few others has not developed into a first team player, just like Weston and McCann . There was usually a long chase to convince them to come and then a huge fanfare that we have managed to get them to sign and then nothing. They do well in the Lowland League, go out on loan in some cases and can`t even get game time at Thistle or Falkirk or whatever. The question is, is it poor recruitment or is there something wrong with our development coaching? You could add guys like McPake, Williamson, Mayo and Kennedy as others who have been highly rated and then turn out to be lower league level.

According to some on here he was going be in the Rangers 1st team 18 months after he signed. I'd say that's not making the cut.

Aye I'm fine and happy with castore should we continue with them, as you said though John there will be moving parts and clauses etc, and undoubtedly the down side money value with potential suitors will have a big say I'd imagine.

Cheers John, when would we be legally able to negotiate with other manufacturers or is there no set date? Or would we have to give castore notice that we won't be renewing? Sorry to trouble you with this just find the business side of things interesting.

Good to know tjn, when I heard the name I just went onto transfermarkt to find out some info, can't see anything official saying he's signed with Benfica yet though, just YouTube videos from back in Jan, will keep a wee eye on it.

Don't know much of anything about the boy tbh, if he has signed for someone else already I do apologise, but if Benfica are looking at him then he has to have something about him, and I do hope Lundstrum stays a while longer.

Name that was floated to me last night is Leandro Barriero, 24, defensive mid, over 50 caps for Luxembourg, out of contract in the summer, currently playing in Bundesliga with Mainz, this could be just noise due to a stalemate with Lundstrum and folk are putting two and two together in terms of position and getting five, was told some top Portuguese clubs are interested as well, might be a name to keep an eye out for though.

Listen, when your first instinct is to panic and try and play the ball out under pressure instead of easily back to your keeper then you deserve all the criticism
Tav has pulled us out plenty of holes in the past but that was simply farcical.

Had a few cracking torn up knees from the red ash park just along from golfhill in Airdrie, those were the days.

Roofe won't be offered a new deal, given us some good memories but it's a joke how often he's injured, club needs to move on and same goes for Ryan Jack.
