Does anyone know why the young Liverpool lad Ej aria is not out in Spain with the squad? Is he injured and while I know Stevie G said he will take time to settle but surely he would have wanted him out there from the beginning.

Just seen Zak Rudden has joined Plymouth on 6 month loan. Hopefully it will have the same result as Doherty did at Shrewsbury-plenty of game time, score more goals and come back a better player (although Greg missed his chance to show it on Sunday) Anyway that leaves us even lighter up front so surely there must be another striker coming in before the window shuts?

Sorry might not just be nonsense about Barker. On a free rather a loan. Would still rather have Jones and hope Murphy gets back to his best. If he does join would also surely put an end to the very slim possibility of getting Kent back.

See we're being linked with taking Brandon Barker on loan from City. Hope this is just media guff. Pretty unimpressive when at Hibs and scored 2 with 2 assists at Preston last season- better sticking with what we've got if there's any truth in it.

I see that Ojo (not even our player) has started the"best team in the league" nonsense before the season has even started. Look I'm all for confidence but why can't players stay quiet unless and until they have good reason to start crowing. No doubt I will get criticised as being negative but I think it leaves us open to ridicule until we prove it on the field.

Agreed Coldo if it wasn't for his goal return I would be calling him the new Dalcio, aright I took that to far, LOL. His performances have been poor but still preseason so we can't really judge at the moment. There's no doubt about his pace and he can put in a tackle but he's wasted a lot of the ball. i'm sure he will come good when he finds his feet and adjusts to the Scottish game and the way we play.
Now that the dust has settled after Progrees, what worried me was it was a mirror image of us against a diddy team from last year, we absolutely battered them however on another day that game could have been 2 each. It just shows with all the talent in the world its hard to score a bag full against a parked bus. I can see our first game against Kille being similar so we must concentrate fully over the 90 or we will get punished. Just wonder if we will look at our tactics against such teams, when we play high and effectively the whole game in the final third we can look vulnerable on the counter which on many occasions ends in a set piece for the opposition.
that's the party piece of most SPL teams against us and was effective last year. More discipline in midfield perhaps, less gung ho, better defending on the counter, what do I know, just hope the management team have a few tricks up their sleeves. what's everybody thoughts, tactics tweek? or just batter teams we have better players this year and should score?

Good to see the message Tav sent to Lee Wallace on his joining QPR-don't think much of Tav as captain but he'shown true captaincy there-giving Lee the kind of tribute he should have received from the club (whatever's gone on)

Ability wise they may be right but what Wilson currently seems to have that Kent does not is showing it consistently and scoring goals too.

I can ask them Supercooper but I had a chat with them not so long ago ago about which loanees were the best and who they thought we would be offered. Best were Wilson, Solanke, Origi by miles followed by Woodburn& Ings. Then came Ejaria followed by Kent &Masterson (young centre back) . They thought only the latter three would be offered to us. As for Kent himself they said he's like many a young winger e. g Barry McKay. Devastating sometimes but totally anonymous often. Only saw him play once for Liverpool in the Cup. Did little of note. Apparently had a good season at Barnsley 2016-17 but recalled early from Bristol City as they weren't playing him. As I said on the rumours site I don't think he should not be loaned as guaranteed starter because he just isn't good enough. Wilson would have entirely different though!

Think I will be distinctly underwhelmed by this if it turns out to be true. OK to add as a a squad player but we already have our own "prospect" on the wing in Middleton. Also if he comes on the basis that he's got to play so many games regardless of form or we will be financially penalised like Bristol City, reputedly, that worries me. Maybe the lad will rip it up in the SPFL but it doesn't sound like a great deal to me. Stevie G is our manager and should be looking after our interests first and foremost.

Haven't posted on here for a few years but always read the pages. I'm posting because I can't for the life of me understand why some on here think Tom Davies would be a great signing. Yes he has EPL experience but that's about it I would say. My son in law is a big Everton fan and he used to groan any time he plays. He offers little and quite rarely gets any time off the bench these days, with justification, in a side staring relegation in the face. Give me Jack ( injury pronethough he is) Lundstram, eventhis seasonor Bailey Rice at 16 who shows more potentialthan a limited EPL benchwarmer.

Unfortunately Simpson is not registered for the Europa League so it's Bassey, McClelland (the B team captain who'd supposed to be a great prospect but never played for the first team and already played 90 minutes on Tuesday night) or some other off the wall option (Lundstram? ) Looks like Bassey is a certain starter to me.

He has never been a regular starter over the past 4 years or so. Has been out on loan at Sheff. Utd. but didn't play often for them either. He's seen more as defensive midfielder and I know my son in law who's an Everton ian always used to groan every time he was picked in what has been a very average Everton side till Ancelotti took over. On the upside he does have very recent EPL experience and 40 odd caps for Bosnia (I think) so the SPFL shouldn't phase him. Everton are letting him go at the end of the season so shouldn't cost too much. Don't believe if he signs he should be a first choice, current midfield is as good or better than him so would be a squad player. Is he what we need-probably not but if he joins then he deserves a chance like all the others who join us.

My thoughts go out to David Hagen's family. MND is a terrible disease which took my brother in law in 2002 after 5 years of brave battle. RIP David Hagen.
