Anyone else think there is more to it with joe dodoo! Not in squad again today but not heard of an injury so must assume there is an attitude problem.

Nic_861

1.) 12 Feb 2017 21:10:32
dont know but its a strange one to me

2.) 12 Feb 2017 21:36:07
Could it be that he is rubbish

3.) 12 Feb 2017 22:12:54
He is rubbish that's why

4.) 13 Feb 2017 06:37:03
Nothing strange about it, he's brutal.

5.) 13 Feb 2017 10:55:24
Hes hardly had 2 games together! Anyone who can judge a player after a few sub appearances should have thier CV in at ibrox! there's plenty of rubbish on show just now so he should fit in well

6.) 13 Feb 2017 23:50:06
Dodoo hasn't proved if he's good or average yet give him a chance. If he had the opportunity that Garner has had at Rangers then I'd bet his goal ratio would be much higher than Garner.

7.) 13 Feb 2017 21:14:28
In squad last week and should be in the team. Him and Garner should be the permanent pairing up front. Lost his place in today's squad to MOH returning from suspension. No conspiracy just poor judgement.

8.) 13 Feb 2017 23:08:03
Did he not come on and turn a game around with 2 great goals v Partick. or was that just a dream

04 Jan 2017 07:25:24
John toral from arsenal is apparently top target now? Other than to keep relations going with arsenal why bother? we will get second comfortably enough so why bring in a youngster on loan when we have guys of our own we could be developing.

Nic_861

1.) 04 Jan 2017 09:30:39
Unfortunately it doesn't look likely. We have had discussions but we are reluctant to pay the 50% of wage we would need to pay (he is currently on 30k - 15k has been deemed too much) .
Some may remember I wrote last week about a prem team player on loan in Spain but talks had broken down.
This was your man.

2.) 04 Jan 2017 10:47:16
he is not on 30k a week he is from what I am led to belive is the same as Gedion Zelalem which was 10-15k a week so we could manage it as bartons wages have gone.

3.) 04 Jan 2017 11:06:17
As long as he is a player that improves the current side then I am all for it! Find it strange that Hardie was allowed out on loan considering our severe lack of centre forwards, would like to see a defensive midfielder in to take hallidays place, I think that would really shore up our defence and another striker who is a proven goal scorer.

4.) 04 Jan 2017 11:07:59
Jon toral is a very good attacking midfielder and better than any player in that position currently at ibrox! So that's why bother, nic-861!

5.) 04 Jan 2017 11:13:32
Would like to see Burt and the boy Thompson promoted to first team squad in second half of season.

6.) 04 Jan 2017 11:44:29
Ibrox Loyal, I got this info 2nd hand but came from MW himself.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying we can't afford him but I assume we are trying to keep Barton money for other people.
MW was just saying 15k is too much for us to fork out on him particularly.

7.) 04 Jan 2017 12:34:01
6mth loan for a guy who no doubt warbs will no doubt say nds time to get used to the pace of scottish football by the time that happens his loan deal will be done don't see the logic in this one.

8.) 04 Jan 2017 17:08:16
So were going to spend a few grand a week on wages we don't have supercooper just to give someone elses youngsters game time when young burt or crooks could come in? If we had anychance of this guy long term I would be all for it but we don't so I say again why?

9.) 04 Jan 2017 17:08:16
So were going to spend a few grand a week on wages we don't have supercooper just to give someone elses youngsters game time when young burt or crooks could come in? If we had anychance of this guy long term I would be all for it but we don't so I say again why?

10.) 04 Jan 2017 17:49:39
The difference is Nic that this guy by the sounds of it could come in and make a positive impact straight away, Crooks hasn't kicked his own @rse since he joined us and clearly the management don't think Burt can IMPROVE the first team quite yet.

11.) 04 Jan 2017 18:19:23
Joey Bartons contract is being Honoured in full! His agent saw to it!

12.) 04 Jan 2017 19:19:31
I get the fact he might be a decent player rutherglenbear but any penny that leaves our coffers must be investment in OUR squad we don't have time or money to spend on guys coming in who won't be there next summer! And as far as crooks goes he isn't playing as he needs games to get match sharp so again get him involved and hopefully if he is a player then he's fully tuned up for next season ie ready to make a fist of it domestically and europa lge.

13.) 04 Jan 2017 21:06:29
Don't believe for a minute Barton's contract being paid in full as he has signed by Burnley you can't get paid to wages.

14.) 04 Jan 2017 21:19:05
Of course you can happens all the time.

15.) 04 Jan 2017 22:46:26
Rangers would have ended up in employment court, charged with constructive dismissal, which it was! Bartons agent told them their case was water tight, it was! Bartons next Ibrox wage payout is due at the end of January.

16.) 04 Jan 2017 21:44:11
Another lost soul from Warburton past. Getting sick of us going after players that have flopped elsewhere- and this guy has been a flop at Granada (hardly Barcelona or even espanyol) .

If this is his idea on how to improve our side, and surely even deluded fans must admit it desperately needs improvement, then get Warburton out and a manager with a clue in.

How can we possibly close the gap on Celtic with signings like this- we can't.

We need to show imagination and ambition- there are good players out there available for little money, but if you are obsessed with players from your past you won't find them.

17.) 05 Jan 2017 09:52:53
Luigi, this is the best we can hope for while King is in charge. The questions are already being asked whether the three Bears and the Two Far East Investors are now getting tired of funding the Club while King does nothing but mouth it off. We need to see serious investment in quality players if we are to be anything other than a team fighting annually for the minor places!

18.) 06 Jan 2017 14:01:21
Nic_861,its very worthwhile bringing in a player in the ilk of jon toral mate! Remember its originally for a 6 month loan deal but he's out of contract at the arsenal in the summer! Who's to say we might have a chance of getting jon toral permanently! That would enhance our starting 11 and bring value to our club! This guy is only still 21 years old has had a fantastic grounding! If we do sign him permanently, he will make us good money in the transfer market a few years down the line! So it potentially could be value to rangers!

23 Dec 2016 08:00:53
Linked with sam nicholson from the hearts this morning! Have to say I did like what I've seen from him but had a bad injury so i'd be cautious of this! What u think lads?

Nic_861

1.) 23 Dec 2016 08:47:01
I agree Nic, caution is the keyword. With the injuries that have plagued the like of Windass, Rossiter and Crooks surely we should be signing fit players!?

2.) 23 Dec 2016 08:57:15
It would be a pre-contract agreement. we wouldn't get him until next year, Nicholson is a great wee player. I'd take him in a heart beat.

3.) 23 Dec 2016 09:22:23
Yes sign Nicholson on a pre contract. Good prospect and a goal scoring attacking midfielder, would fit into our system very well.

4.) 23 Dec 2016 09:53:06
Get Jota in on loan for the rest of the season and then sign him up in the summer. Get Nicholson in on a pre contract. sign a good Centreback and we should be a very solid team.

5.) 23 Dec 2016 10:17:46
Agree but need a few quality additions to take us from a team better than hearts and Aberdeen to the next level to actually challange that lot.

6.) 23 Dec 2016 10:19:02
for me I think that garner is gonny score goals as to will waggy now he is back with hunger.

I do think that we still should be looking at proven goalscorers from maybe Europe sumwhere.

7.) 23 Dec 2016 10:36:28
Always liked what I've seen from Nicholson. Good Scottish prospect that if we sign and develop will be worth a few quid in the future.

8.) 23 Dec 2016 12:57:40
Big fan of Nicholson, Think we should make this happen, if hearts were willing to accept a couple of hundred thousand i'd get it done in jan, if not a pre contract agreement could be good with development fee.

9.) 23 Dec 2016 17:12:48
pre contract only for me i wouldn't be too interested in filling any team in the leagues bank account none of them nd us apparently but after st johnstone on the 28th we'll have bn every teams biggest crowd of the season go figure eh.

10.) 23 Dec 2016 17:34:08
The priority should be 2 centre backs because we're always going to be vulnerable and under pressure with whoever plays out of the 4 of them.

11.) 24 Dec 2016 05:53:50
Would pass on Nicholson. look what happened to Templeton.

12.) 24 Dec 2016 06:20:50
Caw1. Not sure what connection is, apart from Hearts?

13.) 24 Dec 2016 10:02:18
David Templeton has struggled that much with injuries it's went to his head, same as guys like David bentley etc.

14.) 24 Dec 2016 11:07:26
Nicholson apart from this season only missed 6 or 7 games in the past 2 seasons (Championship and Premier league) that's pretty good?

15.) 24 Dec 2016 17:26:37
Decent player - but we need real quality to catch Celtic.

Unless we start showing imagination and ambition the gap between us and them will only grow.

16.) 25 Dec 2016 07:14:59
I think Warburton has shown both imagination (Nico) and ambition (Joey) . He's scraping around for deals and some will be better than others. I'd like to see some of his signings move on for a mark up and reinvested in the team. And some of the others recover from injury and show us why he bought them.

13 May 2017 20:45:01
Well I've listened to some nonsense today! Another day we would have won by 3/ 4! Give pedro a chance he is working with what he has at present! For me we are 3/ 4 players away from a solid side! Garner was good today looked like he wanted a nippy wee poacher around him! We are short of a leader at center half and and midfield boss get those singings right and were not far away.

Nic_861

1.) 13 May 2017 21:42:51
Would agree although I reckon that we are a minimum of four and probably five players short if we want to challenge for the top slot and definitely secure second. We need at least one, but more likely two centre backs and they need to be top drawer. We need two central midfield players, one of them a holding mid., and an assassin!

We also need a good strong centre forward and if we can't a quality winger then McKay can be deployed inside.

I guess, if he doesn't go to Notts Forrest then Tavernier could play right wing but then we would need to sign a quality right back, (because Hodson is not good enough) .

2.) 13 May 2017 21:51:05
I agree with most of your comments but I'm unsure on Pedro, Murty totally changed the same team to get results but Pedro has taken us a step back with his formations and subs, miller should be up front every week not picking up every other tits pieces, McKay has ability but doesn't have defenders worried,
If we had appointed a local manager that had some knowledge and better tactics we would have been happier bears

3.) 13 May 2017 23:56:25
Try at least 8 players for a solid side

4.) 13 May 2017 23:59:56
Guys wilson is a player we need one solid ball winner at center half that's our basis we must build from there

5.) 14 May 2017 00:15:16
A local manager? Who, like Macleish, that was a disaster when he lost the quality players, or McInnes, who has had five years to take on Celtic and has failed. Celtic has set the Bar at the level for all other Clubs with the appointment of Rogers, so that is the level that we should be aiming for if we are serious about competing with them.

Do I see Pedro at that level, probably not!, but I doubt we would have been able to secure the services of one of the top ten managers in the EPL, or a top manager from Europe so from the contenders that applied it looks like the Board, for their own reasons went for Pedro.

The guy does appear to be a winner, he does appear to be totally committed to the cause and I just hope that he has the contacts to be able to bring in five or six quality players with minimum financial outlay because I doubt there will be much money for him to seriously compete i the transfer market.

Whether he is successful or not only time will tell but we need to gauge his success based on the resources he has at his disposal and right now the vast majority of what he has in the first team are not fit for purpose!

At the end of the day, it is down to him to find the players that are committed but there is no guarantee that he will secure the quality needed without serious investment.

21 Apr 2017 18:49:44
Great to see jordan rossiter back doing some training. hope he comes back strong! If the docs have nailed this problem he's been having and he's back to his best we have a tremendous midfielder to build around for next season.

Nic_861

1.) 21 Apr 2017 19:27:41
Agree with you, Nic, in fact don't know why someone disagreed. We know Niko is done for the season but now Jordan is outside training might we see him playing before the end of the season. We will almost certainly lose Hynd man and Toral soon so to have him and Niko properly fit will be like having 2 new players. Make no mistake if he can stay fit Jordan will be some player for us.

2.) 22 Apr 2017 00:04:06
If he can stay fit? When has he ever been fit? Waste of space and pointless signing in the first place. As for Krancjar, he is done.

3.) 22 Apr 2017 00:22:05
Okjaz Rossiter had a problem that specialists were looking to address and if they have we have the best midfielder in spl! Niko showed before his injury he is a class act, he was no where near fully fit! Personally can't see them playing this season but with a full pre season under there belt they will be key two men for us

4.) 22 Apr 2017 00:35:18
Krancjar will not be able to cope with first team football at his age and with his history of injuries. To say otherwise is wishful thinking at best. As for Rossiter, you are taking Hail Mary pass on that one!

5.) 22 Apr 2017 02:19:12
of course every bear wants to c Rossiter beach out on the pitch

6.) 22 Apr 2017 03:12:41
Okjaz, the guy is 32 so I don't see what you are going on about.

7.) 22 Apr 2017 08:36:39
Nic_861

Think you would need to see him playing for 6 months at least before you can declare he would be the best midfielder in the league

8.) 22 Apr 2017 10:08:22
Here's hoping Bears if Nico comes back 100% Caixinha could use him for 45-60 a game Miller the same but the guy has looked after himself and may be able to last 90 but prob not play every game same with Nico but he is only 32 and we have him signed up and he has ability both will be fantastic not only on the pit h but for younger players they are brilliant!

9.) 22 Apr 2017 10:09:30
And doesn't have a track record of injuries either.

10.) 22 Apr 2017 12:23:17
Okja, how is signing rossiter, who is the England under 19 captain a waste of space? the boy has injuries that hopefully can get fixed, he will turn out to be a great signing, mark my words.

11.) 22 Apr 2017 12:27:44
Bengy25,
I've seen enough of him in England to know he is the best midfielder in the League!

12.) 22 Apr 2017 12:29:28
Rossiter would be a stand out in our team and this league if / when he is fully fit, no doubt.

13.) 22 Apr 2017 13:57:35
Nic_861

Yeah but this isn't then it's now and until he starts to play and gets a run in the team then you can't say he is the best midfielder in the country. I hope you are right however let's just see how he goes in pre season and start of the season

14.) 22 Apr 2017 17:59:43
Yeah mate what I said was 'if' his problem has been fixed we have the best midfielder in league! Stand by that comment as I have watched lots of him before we signed him! let's draw a line under this one and get smashed into this mob tomorrow!

15.) 22 Apr 2017 21:25:55
Nic861 the boy played one league cup tie for Liverpool , where did you see him play in England? What a lot of nonsense saying the boy is the best midfielder in the spl, the boy is made of glass and is not even the best midfielder in his hotel.

16.) 23 Apr 2017 08:35:16
Fabadab! Where the hell did u get your information on rossiter? I think u will find he did not only play in 1 league cup game

04 Mar 2017 17:20:52
When is keirnans appeal heard? Is he available for celtic game or is it heard this week? i'd have liked to have seen wilson play today as I think he looks so unfit and we may need to use him against celtic! Just hope senderos doesn't come in.

Nic_861

1.) 04 Mar 2017 18:17:17
Perhaps he'll give bates a try?

2.) 04 Mar 2017 18:57:08
Doubt it! I like wilson but he's injury prone and he's type if he misses a few game he loses fitness fast

02 Mar 2017 20:45:35
Looking like the Portuguese guy could be next manager but looking at his current set up in Qatar he doesn't seem to have his own right hand man (currently a Tunisian who has only worked at that club)! Any thoughts on assistant coach who would come and help him out? Someone who knows the club or has he maybe a fellow Portuguese he will bring in! Even with DOF I think we also have to strengthen coaching staff! Any thoughts?

Nic_861

1.) 02 Mar 2017 21:53:25
What about Pedro with Barry F as assistant?

2.) 02 Mar 2017 22:06:12
I would want rowett he done good job with Birmingham and woz unlucky he got sacked? I think he could have lot of contacts down there to get us God players who could do us up here? He signed Greg Stewart who I know personally and he would walk from Birmingham to sign with us and he would be great signing?

3.) 02 Mar 2017 23:10:52
Why would Rowett come to Rangers as a number 2 with a DOF above the manager. Rowett is a good manager and is probably the best choice as manager not a number 2.

4.) 02 Mar 2017 23:23:14
We need to look further afield than down south in the lower echelons of English football. As has been shown.

5.) 02 Mar 2017 23:25:35
Its a stone waller that Kenny Miller will be asked to partner this new coach. Knows the club, the history of the club and the mentality. We need an inside man who can bring that to table whilst we venture onto a new horizon of managerial. exploration.

Ross Wilson
Pedro
Kenny

6.) 02 Mar 2017 23:55:58
Espekay i think Barry Rowett is next manager subject to agreements between club and agent.

7.) 03 mar 2017 00:35:31
If, as is looking likely, that Pedro Caixinha does become our new head coach, then we must get right behind the guy! Although he wasn't my first choice and probably wasn't any other rangers supporters first choice, it won't stop me giving my total backing to the portuguese gentleman, as the new Glasgow Rangers, head coach!

If it does come to pass, i welcome pedro Caixinha, to glasgow rangers football club! as he'll quickly find out, he's in a privileged position of becoming the 16th man to be manager / head coach, of the greatest institution in the world, "The Famous Glasgow Rangers"! welcome to the rangers family Pedro Caixinha!

8.) 03 Mar 2017 14:25:07
A thing i noticed is in tje last two games rangers defenders turned their backs as the opposition scored. Can you imagine Gough, Butcher or Amarouso doing that

9.) 03 Mar 2017 12:05:32
Kennys still got a few yr as our main striker never mind assistant manager

10.) 03 Mar 2017 12:07:03
A wee point to johnnymac! Still waiting on this announcement you said was happening on wednesday my friend! Just to remind you this is now Friday! I did say i wouldn't hold my breath on what you said! Thank god i didn't!

11.) 03 Mar 2017 14:38:21
Pedro mendes in as coach and get an experienced assistant.

21 Feb 2017 13:45:02
What are your opinions on Frank de Boer? Undoubted talent as a player a legend in dutch football and manged a good ajax side! (Not going to judge him at inter they were in turmoil) What i'd like to know is do you guys think he would adapt to managing on a small budget!? Or change his total football philosophy when needed to win games!? Imo you need top drawer players to play this kind of football!? Every coach has a way of playing but we need someone who knows how to mix it up and win ugly when needed, not sure de boer is that type of guy!

Nic_861

1.) 21 Feb 2017 18:20:36
He was working on a budget in holland ( not as small as he would have with us ) but he developed and played youngsters.

2.) 22 Feb 2017 14:17:35
I would like Henning Berg.

3.) 22 Feb 2017 14:37:57
Surely it would make more sense to judge him on his time at Inter than his time at Ajax given that it would be closer to what he would have to deal with at Ibrox. He won't be inheriting a good side.

4.) 22 Feb 2017 14:50:25
I don't think he is either to be fair. Billy Davies for me

5.) 22 Feb 2017 16:23:38
listen any manager coming in can't be blamed for anything if the don't have a good kitty to try and close the gap.

Wallace will be club captain and rightly so! doesn't mean he plays every week have to fight for his place! Same goes for miller (albeit he's had a great season ) if he is still in starting 11 then we haven't strengthened enough!

Strange one for me! Not his biggest fan (dissapointed he let his performance drop so far) morale has been shot too bits but I would have given him a two year deal I believe with abit of confidence and better players his performance would improve and then we could look for a bigger fee for him! If we are moving him on we must have a good replacement lined up!
