Heard from a reliable source McInnes was asked a few weeks back from Rangers to quit is Aberdeen role but mcinnes refused. Then they said they would pay the compensation but not take the Aberdeen back room staff, again mcinnes refused. Bottom line all this is going on and taking time to come to an agreement. I think he might still be the next boss.

who is the reliable source? lmaoma wee mate jimmy fae the pub normally is right about stuff so ill tout him as a reliable source.

both aberdeen and rangers have said there has been no contact so your mate is well off the mark

2.) 24 Nov 2017 12:28:35
Hi Peds11.

Normally I wouldn't spout this stuff but I have a number of friends from my old Glennifer Thistle days who know Derek well. contact has been made for sure but Rangers playing hard ball.

3.) 24 Nov 2017 12:51:06
If that was the case Aberdeen would take us to the cleaners for speaking to him without permission

4.) 24 Nov 2017 13:31:41
Maybe so but it goes on all the time.

5.) 24 Nov 2017 14:22:21
You’re wasting your time Spurs these guys don’t know what a rumour site is. They will call you a liar no matter what. You say your source hey cry bull you don’t give it it’s because your making it up

6.) 24 Nov 2017 14:49:42
All I can say if you take a look back in history I mentioned Billy Gilmour going to Chelsea well before it happened. And yes it is a rumour site and yes Mcinnes might not come but if your hear from someone who knows him then surely it's worth posting!

7.) 24 Nov 2017 16:35:19
Mcinnes was asked to resign from the sheep weeks ago but he wants to do things the proper way, of-coarse, he has a personal friendship with the chairman which he will (has? ) found hard to break. Not a rumour just info.

8.) 24 Nov 2017 17:35:54
Don’t understand this asked to resign he is under a contract he has just signed you can’t just resign and wal away if you could all players who were looking to move clubs would just resign and leave if you are under contract you are stuck unless you can agree a release fee

9.) 25 Nov 2017 00:06:44
I believe the rumours we are waiting until after AGM to choose a manager but after 2 defeats in a row I think the directors will throw the cat among the pigeons and go for McInnes this week which will definitely unsettle the sheep before the double header

10.) 25 Nov 2017 11:05:21
if they do that they will look like a right shower of halfwits, can't people see they don't want mcinnes in the job, nothing to do with compensation they hoped murty would steady the ship till the agm then find out how much money is going to be available for the next coach to come in they must have put out feelers to who they want otherwise they would be as well pissing off out of the door before the agm

11.) 25 Nov 2017 21:20:25
Murty has come in as asked to as employee as rangers pay his wages so think the stick he gets is terrible as we all know he is not the man for job but the flack should all go to board not murty one bit.

Seemingly Billy Gilmour offered £10k a week from Chelsea once he turns 16. Fee around £500000. Hope it's not true as we really need our best youngsters to come through.

Spurs 1974

1.) 16 Jan 2017 13:01:10
Hope this is yet another nonsense rumour and if there is any truth in it the boy let's hope the boy and his family foresee that having a real chance to break into the Ranger's team next season is far preferable to being shipped out on loan for season after season by Chelsea or playing in their Under 19s.

Saying that it would be difficult turning down that kind of money at such a young age.

2.) 16 Jan 2017 14:11:35
If he goes to Chelsea he could languish in the reserves for years or even disappear off the radar altogether. At least at Rangers he might have a chance of first team football and a bigger pay day in a couple of years so long as he can force his way into the team.

3.) 16 Jan 2017 16:30:08
Course he's going to go for that money. Hopefully add a sell on fee. But how do you even find out this information? Nonsense

4.) 16 Jan 2017 16:44:31
The last I heard was we offered him a 4 year contract but his dad has said he wouldn't commit to any more than two years at a time

5.) 16 Jan 2017 18:16:18
Eezyeez. He'd be going on a free with compensation being paid to Rangers so no sell on fee could be added.

6.) 16 Jan 2017 18:35:01
Like the disagreements lol that's fact warburton and weir visited the family home a couple of months back

7.) 16 Jan 2017 19:38:33
The boy Gilmour is just that, a boy. We are getting our knickers in a twist, he is a prospect although and a good one at that. John Fleck was going to be the next best thing but his career did not hit the heights expected. If we can tie him down to a four year contract great if not let him move on after all the club is bigger than Gilmour. If MW genuinely liked to give youth a chance then Burt would have made more substitute appearances giving the likes of Gilmour encouragement to stay longer.

8.) 16 Jan 2017 22:35:04
Reading all the posts on this WHEN do any of our kids get a change at Rangers at best 3 sit on the bench then the usual suspects get there 60 min sub appearance money!

9.) 17 Jan 2017 07:52:04
Well said Bongo, if we don't have a defensive midfield player or holding midfield player in the youth team that warrants a shift when the one thing we don't have right now is a fit player for that role, then we rally are in a worse state than I thought!

10.) 17 Jan 2017 08:41:05
The use of the word "Seemingly" implies to me that this this "rumour" is made up. Seemingly!

11.) 16 Jan 2017 23:10:15
It's not a rumour, Chelsea really want Gilmore, I just hope he stays with us. even for a couple of yrs, because if he really is good, he will get his move anyway

12.) 17 Jan 2017 13:26:28
All I'll say regarding this is Feruz. Take note any young promising players.

13.) 17 Jan 2017 17:00:48
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and IF Gilmour goes on to be the player coaches think he will be then Rangers must take a gamble. If Cheeses are offering 10k a week then if we offer Gilmour 6-7 even 8k a week on a 2yr contract then it makes sense IF teams like Chelsea are still interested we could sell him on for a decent profit, anything over 1m after 1yr would see a good return, BUT the money some top teams are paying for talented young players is mental so 1m is a very low number if the boy is good AND I think he would stay if we could offer him a deal close to Chelsea's BUT it is a gamble and one I think we should take the money we would get now compared to what we would get after he signs is night and day. Thoughts Bears?

14.) 17 Jan 2017 21:53:20
Tom USA

If we have no DM to bring into the first team from the youth squad the only other option might be another player on loan from the EPL.

15.) 18 Jan 2017 08:44:30
Good point Copland 1, or if there is money available, (unlikely I know), maybe we could buy one that is out of contract in the summer!

Any thoughts on who we could get on loan?

mcinnes will be installed by Friday. This has all been set up weeks ago.

1.) 06 Dec 2017 12:20:43
So you're admitting he knew he was leaving before the double header? Not very ethical is it?

20 Nov 2017 10:38:10
Tony Pulis sacked today. Would he be interested moving north. Always rated him. Surely still a big name in the game and no compensation. Any thoughts Bears?

For me has to be de bour or pulis

15 May 2017 21:03:54
These "reported" targets are not filling me with any confidence. Greek nobodies playing for Hearts? 32 year old Portuguese defender playing at a low level Italian club? Celtic must be shaking in their boots. Here are players we should be going for.

Kenny Mclean - great talent
Stevie Naismith - still a great player
Graham Dorrans
James Morrison
Vladimir Weiss

These players would make a difference. c'mon Dave get the money out!

Spurs 1974

1.) 15 May 2017 21:16:43
Alves won the euros last year and the greek boy rumours are rubbish as says PC.

Saying that bruno alves ain't good enough is ridiculous

2.) 15 May 2017 21:42:52
Lower level Italian club? he is playing in the Italian top flight and they are currently 12th he has played almost every game for them this season against the likes of AC Milan, inter, juventus, lazio, Roma, fiorentina, Napoli and less than a year ago he was playing in a Euro semi final how could anybody say they would not take him? hill and wier played well for us and we're older than him and Bruno alves is a whole level above them two. I really Can't believe people who don't want him It's utterly mind boggling. Who would you prefer at centre half then spurs 1984?

3.) 15 May 2017 22:30:41
Lol think a few Celtic fans are on here flinging in a fishing line 🎣

4.) 16 May 2017 11:12:36
Spurs 1974,if you're telling me that bruno alves wouldn't be a tremendous signing for us then i'm afraid, as far as i'm concerned you've obviously not seen bruno alves playing! This centre half is exactly what we're crying out for! This guy is a rock, a total winner in every sense! By the way he's not 32 he's 35 years old! He plays in the Italian league where you need to be a good centre half and of course he is!

5.) 17 May 2017 15:26:31
He's not 32 he is 35 but he'd do a job for us for next season no doubt

22 Apr 2017 07:44:14
Big Ugo rip. Your goal up here will never be forgotten.

Spurs 1974

1.) 22 Apr 2017 12:25:04
Agreed, I was stunned to hear he had died, just goes to show, even if you're super fit, when your time is up, it's up, rest in peace big man.

28 Feb 2017 09:43:07
Celtic made a statement of intent getting in Rodgers. Rangers need to do the same or else we will be further behind. Please no more Ferguson, McLeish, Davies talk. Big names will attract better players.

Spurs 1974

1.) 28 Feb 2017 11:14:27
Were playing on a different ball park for the next few years - you are kidding yourself if you really think or expect that we will be attracting a top 4 EPL manager anytime soon.

Time for "fans" to get real - Celtic are an irrelevance to us for a couple of years. we need stability, strong foundations and solid progres.

If we get it right we should be challenging seriously in 2 to 3 years but any big investment is unlikely to happen until the MA situation is sorted out.

2.) 28 Feb 2017 11:21:20
BR65,

Your spot on, this should have been in place 5 years ago

3.) 28 Feb 2017 16:50:28
Were does everyone get this '4 years behind celtic' talk from? if we don't win the league in the next 4 years, we'll be waiting 44 years, as if you don't win the league there's no revenue.

This is exactly the type of player we should be going for. Might be too late but we should be pushing the boat out for this lad!

4m a lot of dough but I would love him at Ibrox. Exactly what we need in our defence. Also possible captain material as not enough leaders in our team.

Thinking out loud but do you not think Ross McCormack is worth a shout up front?

Parky,

I think we need more height and strength across the whole team. Too many small guys in the midfield. As I said I hope I am wrong and wish Arfield the best.

I will start getting exited once we bring in defenders.

All the best to Arfield, I hope I am wrong but he is not what we need.

yes agreed money talks but a club the size of Rangers can still attract a higher calibre of manager surely? On Holloway I think he is a brilliant manager who would light up our game in Scotland. He is one of the most passionate guys in football!
