Why not look to strike a deal with Liverpool to buy Kent for, say £5m, paid over two seasons with Liverpool getting 50% of any future sale proceeds over an above the £5m. That would be a good deal for both clubs given that Klopp does not appear to want him.

So far we have spent very little on players this transfer window and while better than what we had last season the majority of the players signed on free transfers are nothing more than squad players. If we are to win the league and make serious progress in Europe we still require a couple more quality players and that will cost money. Whether we should sign Kent at £7m is open to debate but that is the level of player we should be looking at. We should also be looking to sign a quality striker to play alongside Morelos, not to replace him. It will be a long season and if we progress to the Group Stages in Europe then we are still short of a quality squad.

Barasic had absolutely no support in front of him, same for Tav on the right side. On a narrow pitch we simply did not exploit the wings but then Ojo is just learning what Scottish Football is all about and we didn't have a winger on the other side. Our midfield was one dimensional with far too many square passes and back passes. Gerrard is right when he says we need to replace Candelas and it needs to be with a better player. There is still time in the transfer window for us to bring in a couple of quality players.

Out of contract at the end of June as far as I know. That is when most English Club contracts end, same as Aribo.

We won't be able to sign him officially until his contract with Charlton ends on June 30th. Expect him to be on his way to Portugal on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Rossiter is only 21. He needs to show that he can stay fit and excel while he is on loan. All the loanees will go since I doubt Liverpool will do a deal for Kent and I genuinely wonder whether we need Davis given all our alternative options in midfield. Herrera seems to be doing well on the current loan deal so he will hopefully go and I don't see Holt or Alnwick coming back. Also suspect that Halliday won't get a new contract. Same with Wallace and Macaulay.

Holt won't return, he is sadly not good enough. Halliday's contract is up so it will be interesting if he is given another year. Rossiter will need to prove his worth while out on loan and then in preseason and will need to stay fit. Dorrans needs to stay fit and prove that he has the quality that we have yet to see, (similar to Rossiter) . Sadly I fear that we won't get Kent unless it is another season's loan and I am not convinced that we will sign Davis on a permanent contract.

Personally I reckon that the second team would struggle to finish top three! We need to field our top eleven every game and we need a strong bench every game!

Davis still has a lot of skill and could do a job for us however I would much rather we went for bigger stronger players that have the skill but also are more in the Souness, Roberts mould!

The most embarrassing this surely is the news that boo every Rangers player that kicks a ball for Scotland. Changed days! It used to be that those with the right upbringing were proud to see Rangers players in the Scotland team. Sad indictment on Scottish Society today. As far a International Football is concerned I have little interest, of course I am not Scottish so I don't need to rejoice in their occasional Victory!
