wow, McCoist does it again, does he really think that he is getting stick and booed because of the hearts result? he is a useless tactician, he just stands with his arms folded and his hand on his chin and stairs into space, sadly I think money talks with him, he knows we cannot afford to sack him and we all know he will NEVER walk away, when does his contract officially end ED? I don't get what a rolling contract actually means lol, either way I want him gone asap. with Derek McInnes replacing him and maybe have someone like Arthur Numan as his number 2, anyone agree or what?

Wee Cubby

{Ed039's Note - There is no official end to his contract, he has a 1 year rolling contract which means he would either have to be given 1 years notice of termination or paid a years salary to get rid immediately, unless a mutual consent deal could be thrashed out)

1.) 14 Aug 2014 22:19:48
Right c'mon here! Give the guy a break, I do agree with most posts, but at the end of the day, if we had win on Tuesday and Sunday, we wouldn't b on here shouting for his head, we where the better team on Sunday, it just wasn't to b, I'd a took winning on Tuesday and getting bet on Sunday any day of the week; the leagues a marathon not a sprint, these things happen, there's 4 cups up for grabs, so let's get behind the team as we have always done, and hopefully they'll put on a good show tomorrow night!!

2.) Just gets better doesn't it, I hope to god he leaves, he just isn't a manager.

3.) Yeah we were the better team, who won the game though? there is no plan b

4.) 15 Aug 2014 06:35:08
I think Ally should have been offered a monthly rolling contract, what do you think Bears?

5.) Daily rolling contract?

6.) Wee Cubby, money has always been No 1 with Ally, he signed for Sunderland for bigger wages (tho at 18/19 I can't blame him for that) & the time he was desperate to get on for the last 2 mins v Anorthosis because he would have got £12K when we Qualified for the CL (heady Days, sighhh)so there is no way he will leave without a pay-off. Mr Macdonald I thought you were beginning to see the light re our "manager" but does blaming Charles Green for Sunday not have you really questioning his ability? KelpieBearOz, In my opinion Ally's managerial ability has been in doubt since 2008/09 when he was in charge of cup ties and we struggled to beat anyone back then with far better players, so in an ideal world he would not have been offered the managers job in the first place.

7.) Hourly rolling contract

8.) He has not improved one bit in 3 years, he was useless then, now he's useless and rich, but he will be shown up as the rank amateur he is this season against pro's, but whether that will be enough to finally get rid of him remains to be seen, maybe mid table mediocrity will change a few peoples minds.

9.) I'd like nothing more than to have faith in the manager and tackle the anti Ally brigade but fact is they have a point.

Barry McKay looked the part in pre season but nowhere to be seen now, Aird dropped, Gasparotto good enough for Canada but not us, Andy Mitchell three games a year ago and I think two man of the match out of them and then dropped and left to leave

Ally will stick with the captain at 36, Black and Law in the engine room of midfield and we're left slow and little flair or width to provide for Miller and Boyd. As much as I admire DJ's comments in the Evening Times I think some of the criticism of the manager is justified by the fans.

10.) @1

Do you honestly believe we will win either the league or scottish cup? Have you seen an improvement in the team since we went to the 3rd division? Do you think Black, Foster and Hutton are good enough? Ally makes it easy for fans to criticise and still he just doesn't learn. The team is crying out for a creative midfielder but apparently Ally is happy with Law and Black

11.) Someone mentioned 4 cups ally disnae do cups it was charles greens fault hearts beat us if we get beat tonight it will probably be david camerons fault

Can anyone explain to me the 3-5-2 formation? Why didn't we play it in any pre season games? Why wait til our first important game to go with an untried formation? I thought the point of pre season was to practice any new ideas and to get fit? Seems strange to me.

Wee Cubby

1.) It was played several times

2.) Why is Mcgregor not in the starting line up today I think the world of big Jig but surely zalukis and Mcgregor is the way forward I hope bell never gets injured mcculloch may find himself doing nets.

3.) 10 Aug 2014 15:29:13
the only tactics is back to front, bypassing the midfield. kick and rush. totaly inept. I am getting cataracts watching this crap

4.) It wasn't played several times in pre season we played 4-5-1 don't know who u were watching @1

McCulloch will be in the team no matter what, when he shouldn't be, he isn't even a defender, Kyle Hutton is mince aswell, said it before Ally McCoist is not a manager, he is trying to copy what Walter Smith done and is making a pigs ear of it

What am I missing here? What is everyone's problem with Charles Green? If it wasn't for him we wouldn't have a football club to support, would we? He got the cash and got it done, where was the uof then? I really can't understand the fuss, anybody care to elaborate?

Wee Cubby

1.) You're spot on Wee Cubby. Where is Dave King or Brian Kennedy or Graeme Souness et al with their cheque books? Personally, I can't understand what Green is supposed to have done wrong.

2.) Green for go I say - If he puts up the cash, he should then put it where his mouth is. He's a great talker, but I think he could deliver? Who knows.

3.) Everyone's so paranoid about the past that they struggle to trust anyone now, personally I like Charles Green, whether he us in it to make money ir not, he is still trying to bring investment into our club?

4.) Not sure of his motives but if he is going to do something about our management team, like relieve them of their duties, them I'd be happy to see him coming in as the present spineless lot do not have the balls to.

5.) Why did Charles green leave cubby? Why did he say recently that it wouldn't be right for him to personally return to the rangers board?

6.) 10 Aug 2014 17:42:32
I honestly can't believe what in reading in this thread!

I am really beggining to get really frustrated with Ally McCoist, I really can't understand the logic in signing 30+ aged players, why are we not signing young talent from the spfl, would not cost much and wages would be nothing compared to Boyd Miller etc etc the thinking behind it is daft imo, he hasn't got an eye for a player and never will. where as Derek McInnes, Jackie McNamara seem to get what's needed

Whtas everyones take on the signing [policy? including u ed?

Wee Cubby

{Ed039's Note - young players arent available on a Bosman, thats the main reason)

1.) Even a fee for a young player would do, the wages compared to the likes of miller, boyd, black, foster, cribari, daly with a nominal transfer fee paid it would even itself out over the course of the year would it not?

{Ed039's Note - not if you want a decent player no it wouldnt)

2.) 30 Jul 2014 00:42:24
Wee Cubby Queens Park wanted a £15,000 development fee for Andrew Robertson. (approx 3 weeks wages for Stevie Smith) Thomson decided they would get 10% of the sell on fee so Queens Park have just earned £285,000- United still make £2.6million. Not sure Ally will get £2.6 million for Stevie Smith.

Development fees aren't the problem its the ridiculous wages that are the problem.
Remember big Kevin Kyle "the players couldn't believe the wages they were getting" and "I would have played for a quarter of the money I received"
You can only buy a league title if you don't run out of money. This year will be a real tight squeeze to see out the season.
I would wager we will not see out the season but unlike Black I don't bet against my team.

3.) Steven Thomson had that chance to give queens park £15,000 but decided to add another £270,000 on top?

4.) 30 Jul 2014 14:07:46
OR Robertson hasn't cost United a penny. He (Thomson) now has £2.6million extra in the bank- the new club paid for the £285,000.They could have had all £2.85 million in the bank but maybe they were as skint as Rangers and couldn't afford the £15k last year. Maybe they thought this could work out better for the small amateur club who knows- philanthropy is not completely dead and is easier when you have just made a £2.6million profit on a 12 month investment. Either way it is a tad better business than Steven Smith to most reasonable men.

5.) Lexalu if u actually read what Nbear wrote it says "Robertson cost 15k" and with a 10% of any future transfer fee which being 2.7m 10% us 270k? U get ut now lol

6.) Ed I have to disagree. let's take foster as an example. I am not privy to his wages but I'm guessing he is on at least 2-3000 a week. I watched the same if not as good as him in the third div 2 years ago. is this a "we are still a big club"thing that we couldn't get a player from that division. i'm afraid the blame lies entirely with mccoist. he signed all these diddies and quite frankly he has made us unwatchable. if every supporter is honest we are going along through defiance than being entertained. we had a chance 2years ago to go and get all the best young players from the spl and mould them into a team that would be mature enough in 4 or 5 years time to be worthy of the our great institution. problem is the management team are not good enough to nurture or mould young talent. that's why we signed 30+ hasbeens, to deflect mccoist deficiances. quicker dumb, dumber and even more dumber are relieved of their duties and replaced with someone with a broader foresight the better for rangers.

Ed039s Note - I am not sticking up for the players or giving my backing to signing the veterans, you asked why we were signing them over the young Prem talent and I gave you the answer)

7.) If you are talking about Thomson and philanthropy in the same sentence, then yes it is completely dead.

8.) Wee cub were does it say "Robertson cost 15k"?

9.) 15k developmental fee, are you actually serious? His developmental fee was 15k his the he had a clause that queens park got 10% of any future transfer fee, which in turn means queens park get 270k so what part don't u get

10.) 30 Jul 2014 20:37:01
Stephen Thomson probably reckoned that offering a 10% sell on clause was good business because he paid nothing up front, so if Robertson didn't work out then there was no loss. Pretty decent business to be honest

11.) Ok I read it wrong, wee cub. And yes I am actually serious what part don't you get?

12.) Whatever qp get will come off whatever tax liability there is with deal

22 Jul 2014 18:28:16
Surely the fact we can't sign Don Cowie, we should easily be able to tie up a deal to sign Scott Allan, Ally McCoist says he has no problem with giving youth a chance yet has let go Scott Gallaher and re-signed the shaambles that is Simonson, I will tell u I want ally out asap he is not a manager and never will be he has not signed 1 single player I rate apart from Templeton and Nicky Clark? What is everyone's take?

Wee Cubby

1.) Don't you rate Cammy Bell?

2.) 2) you having a laugh Templeton and Clarke they haven't been up to much apart from being injured, I think we should all just wait and see the difference the signings this year make I think WS will all be presently surprised and what about Boyd Miller and big Zal? do you not rate them?

3.) I mean in terms of outfield players

Too old

Boyd
Miller
Zaliukus
Simonson
McCulloch
Daly

Overrated and wasted money

Black
Law
Faure
Foster
Moshni
Smith
Emilson
Peralta

when we have young players mixed with maybe experience in each part of the field

GK Bell

RB Mitchell
CB McGregor (experience)
CB Gasparotto
LB Wallace (experience)

RM McKay
CM Law (experience)
CM MacLeod
LM Templeton

ST Boyd (experience)
ST Clarke

4.) Mad? I said I rated them when we signed them, injured or not they are the only decent signings that I rate

Why do u say that every player we sign will double in wages when we get back to the premiership when it is simply untrue?

A little premature don't u think? 1st game 2seasins ago we drew with Peterhead and won the league, hearts and hubs will lose a lot more points against the other teams thane will, we will win the league, have some faith.
