So i was at the game the other night just like most of you were, i went to every home game last season and from what i saw against prognes cardoso is a bargain long time i have seen a player so confident on the ball as good a defender as clint was he was shaky on the ball and not a single cb would bring the ball out into the space and cardoso every time he got the ball he look up the park for a foward pass.

he also carried the ball very well so this guy will be very important, ryan jack will get stick this season but he was also excellent. dalcio started well then fell away most likely nerves but one player out of the new boys in excited for and i think had been over looked in sort of opinions of the game he was so direct never stopped running tav didn't help him out as much as i would have liked but this guy is going to start a lot and be a very key players for us

Also with people hoping pedro will fail from this game, people need to notice the players who let us down on the day wallace holt waghorn were warbs favourites the players who played the best where pedros boys and david bates who pedro gave a chance to

These players and only going to get better guys.

Fully agree. Waghorn works hard but simply doesn't't score anything like enough goals and he misses far to many easy chances. Holt is a good squad player but there are others including Pena and Rossiter that should start ahead of him and Wallace, (and for that matter Tav), have it all to prove this season.

All of this said I have a good feeling about the team for this season, I believe that they will get better and better as the season progresses and all of the players that Pedro has brought in will give 100% in every game!

2.) 03 Jul 2017 15:51:12
Why will Ryan jack get stick?

Really struggling to understand why alves isn't pleasing anyone, the man is a winner international and at club level a central defender playing in italy where the worls best centre halfs play there game but the same people who want to keep clint hill are saying that he is too old.

Wilsonryan96

1.) 15 May 2017 21:23:09
Has won the league 7 times across 3 clubs more than any of our squad put together

2.) 15 May 2017 22:06:15
Yes 7 league titles and 5 other cups in 3 different leagues zenit payed 22million for him. He played every game at the 2010 and 2014 world cups and every game at Euro 2012 along Side Real Madrids Pepe and played in the euro 2016 semi final and is due to be part of Portugals squad for this summers confederations cup. He has just played 36games for Calgari in the Italian top flight. If anybody says he is not good enough knows nothing about football because to say he would be a bad signing it's just utterly ridiculous!

3.) 15 May 2017 22:24:19
Our defence is crying out for a player with the stature of Alves, I really do hope this signing does happen

4.) 15 May 2017 22:46:01
spot on deano bear - one thing you can't level at alves is his experience and credentials which are second to none.

At his age, to have played 30+ games for Cagliari in Serie A shows his fitness levels

Ok i can see some bears not wanting to sign a 35yr old because he is too old with no re-sale value but a 2yr deal wld bring in a wealth of experience and help us re-build

Any issues over player being past it just need to look at our 2 best performers this season hill and miller both over 35 and obv not forgetting Sir Davy

5.) 16 May 2017 09:27:59
El minto

After his shambles with Warburton and his eagerness to try to negotiate an escape route from Rangers with Warburton I think you should drop the sir

Been thinking about Jordan Rossiter recently and I have came to the conclusion that the boy just isn't being risked at this moment, the talent is there but I feel like we are holding him back right now for rehabilitation to try and make sure the injured that have plagued him do infact go away and let this young boy get his career really started, what do you other Guys think

Wilsonryan96

1.) 17 Jan 2017 12:10:36
Part of his rehabilitation should be competetive gameplay. Otherwise how can the staff judge what stage he's at in terms of recovery. The fact he hasn't been involved says to me there's something more serious with his injury. Why there holding that information back from us is another story.

2.) 17 Jan 2017 12:18:50
honestly - I think we took a chance, Rossiter, Crooks and Windass all had injuries when we signed them - 1 has been posted missing 1 now out on loan, the other has only played half a dozen games. that's how we got them 'cheap', this together with guys over 35, is where we shop nowadays in the vain hope that 1 of them comes good.
Expect much of the same if ANYBODY comes in during the next few weeks unfortunately.

3.) 17 Jan 2017 12:25:33
Yeah I get that but that can also cause more injuries

4.) 17 Jan 2017 12:36:40
The boy Rossiter played the whole euro championships with England before he came to us. He captained them a few times. So why all of a sudden his injury shows up more serious than ever? Also a lack of information from the management ain't helping

5.) 17 Jan 2017 12:36:45
My point is you can do all the rehabilitation you want. But in terms of performance the only real way to gauge it is playing competitively. Something must have shown up that is stopping him from kicking a baw

6.) 17 Jan 2017 14:26:04
Got a feeling that if the club and fans have faith and loyalty in Jordan Rossiter he will repay as ten fold.

Odds were if he had a good/ great first season he'd be ofski at the first opportunity.

Think if we stand by the lad at this period in his career, he will stand by the club and bring us a decent amount of money in a few years time.

This season is a bit of a dead rubber anyway. Those who say a SC run is essential. We get Celtic away between now and the final, we're essential done for.

Second was what we wanted. Second is where we are. Aberdeen have a game in hand but have a feeling we'll be a strong second this year, way behind Them but ahead of the likes of Aberdeen and so on.

7.) 17 Jan 2017 14:30:29
Bil72 your incorrect, we didn't get them cheap because they were injured.

8.) 17 Jan 2017 14:41:02
There is obviously a lot more to the injury than was first claimed and I think it would help if the fans were told exactly what the problem is. Reminds me of the Templeton injury where it was said he wouldn't be out that long yet 18 months down the line he still isn't able to train with anyone

9.) 17 Jan 2017 14:43:13
I fully agree with Thorn76. We should be 100% behind Rossiter because the boy is quality and if he can resolve the injury problem that he has we will get ourselves a quality football player and a quality young lad as well.

He has had a number of injuries in his relatively short career including a Malleolar injury in 2015, a muscle fibre problem in late 2015, a Hamstring injury in the first half of 2016 and the latest, defined as a calf injury that has kept him out of the team most recently but no one has ever suggested that his playing career in in jeopardy and we need to remember that he went straight from playing for England right up to the semi finals of the Under 19's European Championship and then straight into playing for us without any close season.

We have no idea of what the training schedules are like at Liverpool or what the changes in dynamic would have been in him moving to us but what I do know is that if it takes this season to get him fit so he can be a mainstay next season I will accept that.

All I would ask is that we bring someone in either on loan or on a short term contract to take that holding midfield role at present because we have absolutely no one to play that role in his absence!

10.) 17 Jan 2017 15:02:58
Thorn what a ludicrous statement to make, "if u get celtic away", since when did you get an away draw in the cup lol.

11.) 17 Jan 2017 15:14:10
More negative speculation and conspiracies. The boy is injured and needs time to fully recuperate rather than risk further injuries.

You cannot recuperate during a high tempo match, only aggravate your injury even more - you can however gain match sharpness but only if you are fit enough in the first place!

12.) 17 Jan 2017 15:19:22
Think the reason we got him TBH was because of the worry about niggling injuries.

In all honesty 8 million or whatever the touted sum was for players going from English to English, is peanuts for any team, especially Tottenham who were after JR.

These are the chances you take at a club like Rangers. If we can get a couple of deals like Rossiter, Dodoo, Windass, Crooks and even lads like Bates and Jordan Thompson every season, then our club will be the better for it.

Added to players who are decent performers like McKay, Wallace, Foderingham, Hodson etc. The club will be solid going forward.

Bring in players with ability and experience like Krajncar and Barton and players we missed out on because of lack of European football like Mariappa and Espinoza, the club will be able to challenge the other side sooner than some fans might think.

13.) 17 Jan 2017 15:26:55
The rehab part is easily the most important and if done right then the player won't have persistent problems.

If you do muscle mass rehab then it works on reducing the recovery times and protects the problem area, i think with many players though you just don't know how bad the injury is and its a risk if you play them too early.

14.) 17 Jan 2017 16:35:29
Rossiter looked a class act when he played, so hopefully his injury problems will be solved as it would be good to see him in the DM role this season.

15.) 17 Jan 2017 18:20:12
Kilmarnock Rayman, the same round your lot got an away tie.

16.) 17 Jan 2017 18:38:14
Think there's a few paranoid conspiracy theorists out there. Is it not more likely that we signed him, he got injured and has picked up another couple of injuries when trying to get fit?

17.) 17 Jan 2017 18:47:33
Bluedie

Was that not a reply after drawing 0-0 at Ibrox?

18.) 17 Jan 2017 23:25:29
But there's the rub, Thorn76, you mentioned ten players and only three are regular starters.

11 Jan 2017 14:51:15
Can people not see the problem right now is the lack of goals and creativity from the midfield, hence why toral and hyndman have been brought in, our midfield don't creat enough chances and give the ball away far too much right now the defence is no where near as bad as people are making it it

Wilsonryan96

1.) 11 Jan 2017 15:52:19
Correct.

2.) 11 Jan 2017 16:03:39
Wilson I see where u are coming from with the goalscoring but we do get chances and we don convert them.
but u think our defence isn't that bad we have danny Wilson who is nowhere near the player he prmised to be when he was younger. Kiernan for me every game if he doesn't cost a goald he almost does and is never a footballer imo.

clint hill good defender and good reader of the game but has a weakness which is his pace and weaknesses have been exploited in the goals we concede.

ive always said it and won't change now when building a team you should start from the back not the front not the middle but the back.

goalkeeper is a good one and we should keep him and gilks if we can as he is a good keeper aswell.
maybe not the quality we have been used to but good none the less.

midfield is rossiter holt halliday windass and now tav aswell as the two new boys which look promising (especially toral) . i'd say that's enough for half a season.

I agree we need to score goals and maybe for the next half of the season that's all we need to get second spot wrapped up.

3.) 11 Jan 2017 16:14:10
Aye mate fair point but the midfield do the defence no favours giving the ball away in silly positions Halliday especially, keep 4 at the back with hodson hill kiernan and Wallace and we will be fine

4.) 11 Jan 2017 17:01:07
Wilson I totally agree if you look at goals conceded there isn't much in it between the top teams in the league but goals scored we are miles behind Celtic just above half their goals Aberdeen and Hearts have scored more our midfield has been poor they give the ball away far to often putting pressure on the defence Tav simply isn't good enough he is not a defender Hodson is a far better option as for going forward our midfield don't get into the box enough it's no use Garner winning the ball in the air if no one is there to use it so for me you can always improve our defence but it's not the priority midfield and up front is where the little money we have should be spent

09 Jan 2017 16:45:46
Seeing a lot of negativity across social media in regards to the loan signing of the boy hyndmann, mostly in regards to why we are loaning players, loaning players is there so we can access players we can't afford I don't see the negativity

Wilsonryan96

1.) 09 Jan 2017 17:38:25
Don't have an opinion on the boys but I can't understand why the defence isn't priority.

2.) 09 Jan 2017 17:54:45
on one site he is a bournemouth outcast, if he went to the other mob he would be a sensational coup, i don't see why you let the idiots get to you

All this nonsense about the players being linked its insane, we brought in players who didn't know the league and struggled so what's the problem with being linked with moult who is one of the top scorera in the league in a poor motherwell side, walker who has ripped us and almost every other team in the league to shreads in a dreadful hearts team ( also one of the top scorers in the country) ryan jack the captain of the team 9 points ahead of us who are constantly praised for the battling midfield.
But then people are also complaining about the possiblity of signing a euro winning but hey we are the rangers support we know better than a football manager eh?

Ill say one thing candeias has showed more desire more work ethic and more talent as a winger in his few games than moh has in the rangers shirt.

I think i saw moh hit the full back with more crosses than got them in the box

Mckay doesn't work hard enough, he might have talent but if he ain't working hard he will not get a game ahead of someone who works harder

Alves won the euros last year and the greek boy rumours are rubbish as says PC.

Saying that bruno alves ain't good enough is ridiculous
