Looks like Michael O'Neill going to be Norwich City Manager with compensation likely to be around £500k according to BBC! We paid £600k for Pedro?

Yately

1.) 02 May 2017 18:05:49
Was it as much as that? I don't think MON was ever an option.

2.) 02 May 2017 18:47:48
And what? I'm from Northern Ireland so I think a lot of Michael O'Neil but what makes you think he would be any good in league football. His only managerial experience in club football was in the league of Ireland. Lawrie sanchez had a brilliant record with us but flopped big time when he got his chance with fulham

3.) 02 May 2017 18:54:46
Yately heard it was £300k
Also opinions on Will Vaulkes. For me I would rather we put the money into a bigger transfer fee for a better player.
If true and Caixinha has a list of 12 players and Vaulkes is one I would rather bring in one less at the expense of Vaulkes and put the £400k towards a better player OR use the money on wages fot an free transfer. Vaulkes is not the standard we want he's ok but C'mon. Thoughts Bears?

4.) 02 May 2017 18:55:42
O'neill good manager always loved to have seen laurie sanchez few years back get the chance to manage the gers.

5.) 02 May 2017 20:10:42
Dont believe everything that's in the papers. there linking us with everyone so when they eventually get 1 right they can tell us rhey told us so. it was the same when we were looking for a manager, there was a new name everyday and they still didn't get it right

6.) 03 May 2017 20:43:34
people saying we shouldn't be looking back but going for players that can play at this level can't be a bad thing if u think getting whittiker, naisy kyle bartley would not improve our team then there is something really wrong with your brain.

i know we haven't been linked with bartley but i'd be trying my best to get him in my team i think he is a great cb he is big solid smart and way faster than anything in our defense

Alex Neil, Norwich city manager is now favourite for the Rangers job!

Yately

1.) 28 Feb 2017 17:37:11
Interesting. given he is a coatbridge man who certainly favours the green half of Glasgow. We certainly ain't rushing an appointment which is a good thing as we MUST get the right man in. Its obviously not mccleish (thankfully) or Davies as they wuda been in by now. I just pray we r holding off for FDB. Doubt it tho.

2.) 28 Feb 2017 18:31:30
Would like it to be FDB but I think it depends on what role the director of football will have who ever the head coach is I hope Miller is rewarded with an extended contact as a player coach

3.) 28 Feb 2017 20:11:11
Would love it to be de boer but can't see it will probably lend up with somebody we've never heard off

4.) 28 Feb 2017 20:12:59
Did it again you know who I mean

5.) 28 Feb 2017 20:15:07
Once again we have a nother person in frame we are getting posted with all the mangers know I wonder who is next I Dout it will be Alex Neil but my gut felling is we want have anybody till the summer dk want spend money on mangers that are in a job we don't have money for any good players I don't know what you all think hope we get it sorted soon all this talk about investment I love to know we're that is comming from to because something would have been said by now by someone

6.) 28 Feb 2017 20:32:11
i for one will not be renewing my season ticket nxt year if alex neil becomes our manager

7.) 28 Feb 2017 20:53:06
It won't be Alex Neil but why would you not renew if he got the job?

8.) 28 Feb 2017 20:58:59
I heard today that the real reason de boer won't take a job mid season is to do with his pay off from inter in that if he takes a job before the summer he forefits a large portion of it. No idea if that's true.

9.) 28 Feb 2017 21:23:19
Because he is a celtic Fan. I wonder if these fans who react like this went mental when Neil McCann (celtic fan) scored the 2 goals when we won the league at the piggery. My guess would be yes. Its fans with views like the one above that hold our club back and keep it in the dark ages.

10.) 28 Feb 2017 21:39:44
how do my views hold the club back in my honest opionion our club has lost its identity lately and the problems from top to bottom show that I've bn home and away all season so my hard earned cash hasn't held the club back and also for the record i don't rate alex neil as a manager either

11.) 28 Feb 2017 21:48:26
Alex Neil sorry I don't buy that - his allegiances are well known and add that to the way he spoke about our great club with utter disdain following the Dorrans rumours last summer, it's very clear what he thinks of us.

You don't need to be a bluenose to be our manager, but I draw the line at the likes of Alex Neil

12.) 28 Feb 2017 22:19:42
I totally agree with you bigcol1872! But do you think alex neil is good enough to become the manager of glasgow rangers? I'm obviously talking about his ability and not his religion or the team he supported while growing up, that should have nothing to do with it!

Although neil wouldn't be my own choice i still think he's a decent manager/ coach! My own choice that i'd love to be our next manager/ head coach is garry monk, although i don't think he'll leave leeds utd! Monk is a terrific coach!

13.) 28 Feb 2017 22:07:59
Colshy your comment, like a hell of a lot of other fans views on Neil, would suggest that it's not his managerial ability that's in question but rather his allegiance to certain rival club. If I've jumped to this conclusion then I apologise. What difference does it make what team the new manager supported as a boy? For some reason we are the only club in Europe who still harbours this disdain for prospective employees that have supported celtic. well maybe not all of us. Whether he is good enough that's another argument. My view he is.

14.) 28 Feb 2017 22:37:55
Before Warburton took over I thought we missed the boat not getting him in then. I still think he is a very good coach but he seems to have stalled a wee bit just now. I think everyone's choice would be FDB but let's get realistic, that's not happening. So we are left with names like McInnes, Mcleish, Wright and Davies. My choice would be Monk, but could we afford him? If we don't get a decent manager then the club are almost accepting being in celtic shadow for years to come.

15.) 01 Mar 2017 04:03:10
In all realism we are years behind Celtic as much as it pains me to say it. We simply don't have the money to compete with them. Rangers in my opinion will not hire a manager until the end of the season to save money. We need a Rangers man in there someone who knows the club inside out. I'd like to see Barry Ferguson in there in some capacity with the intent of the reigns getting handed over after spending time with an experienced manager.

16.) 01 Mar 2017 17:00:28
why would he leave Norwich
took them to the prem, relegated, kept him, like him.
why would he leave to manage the rangers?

17.) 01 Mar 2017 19:14:37
Doesn't look like he's in the final running anyway.

16 Nov 2016 16:48:48
As far as I am concerned I would welcome Redbull all day long into our club. A company who treat sport with respect and hopefully do the same to the Teddies!
Obviously we wouldn't put up with a name change but calling Ibrox the Redbull Ibrox Arena is fine way me👍😳
We need investment guys and getting a worldwide business involved is what we need!

Yately

1.) 16 Nov 2016 18:23:05
I was in Vienna last year and spoke to two guys from Salzburg who said they hated everything that red bull had done to their club, to the point that they distanced themselves from their own club. Beware such corporate vultures.

2.) 16 Nov 2016 21:41:49
Respect the sport? You having a laugh? Red Bull are destroying football in Austria and have totally ripped the soul out of Salzburg. NY Red Bulls and RB Leipzig are universally despised.

3.) 17 Nov 2016 01:35:24
Mate, we could not knock back 20 million to be called the reinvented fairies of ibrox. I would welcome the name change rather than being a mid-table side for the foreseeable. In fact I would do almost anything to avoid the lingering ten in a row. Red Bull Rangers is not the worst we have been called in the past!

If they are looking at us then its for our huge fanbase, so we need to be behind them. They need to invest heavily in our stadium so I assume they would call it the Red Bull Arena. Imagine they turn their attention to Celtic and they get all this money and are called Redbull Celtic?

Would you rather we kept our name and they dominated us for the future? Get real we can't knock back money for anything.

4.) 17 Nov 2016 04:53:13
Don't worry, there'll never be a red bull Celtic.

5.) 17 Nov 2016 11:20:27
SPOC why are they despised what have they done to these clubs and leagues to be despised?
Leipzig are far better off with them and are playing better football because of the investment red bull put in .
I understand why the rest of Germany doesn't like them. they have made Leipzig a better team.

why would we care if anyone else liked us or not we never have been liked and never will be and that's fine by me I like rangers and so do a lot of our fans .

there are some people that don't sound as if they like us because all they do I b*tch about one thing or another.

I don't think this will happen but I hope it does .

reguarding name change we have just not long changed it to the rangers so what would be wrong with red bull rangers, end of the day we will be richer than that lot and attract better players.

6.) 17 Nov 2016 11:32:05
stadium name change not a problem team name change no thank you the teams that red bull have invested in have nowhere near the history of our club we are glasgow rangers end of plaster red bull signs all over the stadium the strip by all means but the name stays.

7.) 18 Nov 2016 11:06:12
well said james stirling.

8.) 18 Nov 2016 11:15:48
colshy we are already no longer "Glasgow rangers"
we are "the rangers" as of a few years ago so no history behind that name other than one i'd rather forget.

as long as we are rangers I don't care if we are red bull rangers, the rangers or Glasgow rangers.

if a simple thing like that would stop u wanting their investment that we badly need then I have to say I disagree.

9.) 18 nov 2016 21:17:58
disagree with you james stirling. we are and always will be glasgow rangers my friend! we should always want to hold on to our history and where we've came from, as far as i'm concerned these things are very sacred! we should never sell our soul to tom, dick or harry. we'll get there regarding investment, its just going to take time!

10.) 19 Nov 2016 02:44:10
They may be despised but are top of the Germanzzz.

I had not heard of any of their players, how much have they spent? Maybe we should be looking at their scout.

I for one would rather have a world class scout than a Joey barton ( In hindsight)

11.) 19 Nov 2016 20:42:58
The club was never known as Glasgow Rangers in its entire history.

12.) 21 Nov 2016 10:57:50
doesn't matter we are rangers super rangers. all that matters is we stay rangers .
change the name of the stadium arsenal have got over it.

I also think we have a top scout and that's why we have all the good players we do and got them for free.
give him money and he will work wonders.

its not selling our soul we will have the history still and remember the glory days no one can take that away from us.
no name change could take that away from us.
I could however bring back the glory days which i'd be more than happy about.

all this and it ain't gonny happen anyways lmao.

I have always been a King supporter but after the recent goings on at the club we have sank to a new low?
No disrespect to Murty, who I think is a great coach. but he is nowhere near what the club needs and the way the board have carried on is disgraceful! Obviously we don't have a penny! 🇬🇧.

No heart or fight and we are going to be stuck way about four foreign dumplings on long contracts! Pedro must be removed ASAP? It is just going to get worse under him 😡😡😡.

Yately

1.) 22 Oct 2017 20:52:26
Had the chance to sign home grown players an did not down to the managerand he has failed

03 Oct 2017 21:07:13
Trueger talks absolute mince! Worst team in Rangers history are you having a laugh! That team were a privlage to watch and you are a complete embarrassment to yourself!
Do you think that team would have laid of celtic like our current team done last week?

Yately

1.) 04 Oct 2017 08:53:43
Yately spot on mate. The big difference was that rangers team were winners, fighters and absolute pros. Not to mention captain rangers barry ferguson.

2.) 04 Oct 2017 09:07:15
Spot on lads

3.) 04 Oct 2017 09:48:19
I know Yately i'm still in a state of shock at that 1 as well mate

4.) 04 Oct 2017 11:43:38
I think he made a good point about backing the team and the heightened pressure and expectation when playing for rangers. And that in the team we have now with not so many big, strong characters that a lot of the new lads are struggling.

But as for the rest of it. utter drivel.

Have some great memories of that team. I was thinking about the time cousin hadn't played for months then Walter stuck him upfront against Celtic and he ran them ragged.

5.) 04 Oct 2017 14:18:38
Dunc - I agree that the fans moans and groans after one misplaced pass can crush someone and their future performances. It's one thing that I hate is after ten mins - a misplaced long ball etc and someone is right under the cosh already. People will say - oh you have to have the mentality to cope with it - however - we are SUPPORTERS, there to SUPPORT during the 90mins. Come a Monday I will be on here ripping people a new rear end, but during the game I try my best to encourage players.

The list of players that have crumbled the last few years is nuts as on paper at least, they are decent SPFL Prem players.

Law
Shiels
Mckay
Zelalem
Zaliukas
Sandaza
Templeton
Black
O'Halloran
Foster
Kiernan
Wilson
Waghorn

All of the above I think are decent enough players, some very good players, but the pressures of playing in front of a crowd that can become very hostile very quickly totally drains players of their confidence and ability.

6.) 04 Oct 2017 15:23:39
Blueblazer, nope mate, they are all shite. The reason they crumble is because they are not good enough it really is as simple as that. Nothing to do with the fans.

7.) 04 Oct 2017 16:05:53
They are far from rubbish.

All of the players there are gifted enough to be playing in the SPFL Prem, no doubt about it. Are they capable of playing for Celtic? No. are any of our players realistically? No.

I am not saying that these players are top level players, but they are all capable of playing in a better standard of Rangers team and performing at a better level than they did for us. Would they be de Boer, Ferguson etc no.
Would they be capable of playing at a level of Stephen Hughes, and filling a squad out, with a bit of quality? yes.

If you are trying to tell me that the "fans" aren't an issue with players playing at Ibrox then, in, my opinion, you are deluded.
Ibrox (except the UB) is like a library except the odd grumble of discontent when a pass goes backward or wayward.

8.) 04 Oct 2017 17:09:41
Blueblazer

I agree with coldo. Rubbish players and at best squad players. They've all had their chance but because of a lack of ability they couldn't make it.

Because someone shouts at you doesn't mean you go and hide. You show some character and go again. Fans up and down the country are the same. The players aren't under 10s.

9.) 04 Oct 2017 19:45:32
Then got sent off before going to Hull the next day😂

10.) 04 Oct 2017 20:57:07
Just watched it in youtube, I forgot he was sent off haha. Still played amazing though and it was a cracking game. Pedro Mendes with an absolute screamer. And celtics Dutch forward also sent off. (not even going to attempt to spell his name)

11.) 05 Oct 2017 06:44:47
Venegoor of Castlemilk lol. MCmanus and Caldwell didn't stop greeting that day til big Cousin got sent off. the best part of it was seeing big daft Boruc making another howler and Miller taking abt a week to put it in the net 😂.

23 Sep 2017 18:38:40
Someone suggested Walter to comeback for a swansong? At first I thought don't be ridiculous, but after a defeat and performance like that I am starting to think Walter? Pedros team lack any quality, fight and he is not the right man for the job? Today was a day to stop them playing football and hit them on the break and our Manager has no clue to do this! Good guy Pedro but out of his league? 😡😡.

Yately

1.) 23 Sep 2017 18:54:42
Agree Walter needs to get back pronto or for me
Rangers need to burst the bank for the man who should
Have got the job in the first place frank de boer

2.) 23 Sep 2017 19:08:54
Cool the jets lad 3/ 4 injuries that could have made a difference! We will grow as season progresses

3.) 23 Sep 2017 19:09:47
Frank de boer is not the answer either. Been sacked from last 2 jobs for poor results not the answer IMO

4.) 23 Sep 2017 20:13:22
Jzer

If you think that mob currentky masquerading in Rangers jerseys will ever do anything then u are totally delusional

5.) 24 Sep 2017 00:19:38
We are years away from challenging Celtic. Sir Alex couldn't do anything with that group of players compared to Celtic. Unless there is major investment and I mean £30 million then we just have to grin and bare it. The board have done well so far and will continue to improve but it will take time. We won't win a title again for a long time so we have to get used to this standard. We will get better but not quickly enough for some people. I can put up with the fact that we are mince but the lack of aggression is scary and the lack of pace in the team is the same.

6.) 24 Sep 2017 02:54:02
Walter is to old now lol we can't just keep shoutin walter when it goes tits up.

7.) 24 Sep 2017 20:02:28
We will grow as season progresses.
Ffs mate we have 4 points out of 4 home games, drew away to partick, extra time win in the cup, we're on the decline from Pedro took over.

23 Sep 2017 17:14:31
It's a sad day when you are happy with a 2-0 defeat. Honestly most Gers fans including myself would have taken that result before the game? Can't say I am looking forward to going to the piggery!

I do agree some of the gaffers comments at interviews are embarrassing to the club and sometimes his 4 minute answers to a simple question can be extremely boring to listen to? He has to learn he can't keep this up at interviews and I am genuinely behind him and hope it works our for him! Although I have my doubts 🇬🇧
