Mike Ashley has posted notice of his intention to take out security over Rangers' Ibrox Stadium.
Documents seen by STV show that Sports Direct have filed their intent to add their name to the title deeds of the ground. Ashley has 35 days to complete the application but the lodging of documents indicates the owner of Newcastle United could be set to provide a secured loan to Rangers to provide badly-needed cash.
How the hell can this get approved!!
1.) From my understanding of this, the notices of security, lodged with the Register of Scotland on 15 January, mean that only Sports Direct can be granted security on Ibrox and MP for a 35-day period. By doing this Ashley has made it impossible, for the next 35 days, to accept the security condition of the Three Bears' offer thus meaning the Three Bears £6.5m loan secured on MP cannot be accepted.
Only positive I can see is that surely David Somers position is under even more scrutiny now as I believe he said in statements that Ibrox would never be used as security against a loan.
Is this game, set and match Ashley or can anyone see a way out of this.
2.) I just don't understand why 3 Bears & King don't call a EGM, would this not stop any further discussions until this EGM or can the current board accept it even knowing they will be off the board after the EGM.

If Douglas Park has issued a statement saying the Ashley deal was not in the best interests off both the club & shareholders can they not make a formal complaint to someone get king & the fans with shares to complain also?
{Ed039's Note - They can complain to AIM but these things take a considerable amount of time to complete investigations into)

These are scary times, it seems to be coming to climax at boardroom level, but the way the fans have united against the board since McCrook went has been amazing l always thought we would re unite without him to divide us but not so quickly, its like the old Rangers family and very encouraging for the future.

Glad you said that amigo I totally agree he prevented our fans from 100% unity for the last year after it became clear he was getting even worse as a manager and supported every and any criminal that was proped up in front of him

Surely something like securing a loan against MP & Ibrox must get shareholders approval 1st?
I say if it does go ahead we should try & lease Hampden instead off Ibrox ( I believe he can't touch Ibrox as its a listed building) therefore cutting Ashley out completely & even if we have to train on a park until we get something else sorted give Ashley nowt!!

I'm convinced Ashley is doing this purely out of spite because the SFA blocked him from buying more shares,not only that but the manner in which King/Park aquired holdings that he had earmarked for himself,clearly has put his nose out of joint.He is doing it "because he can" he has his retail deals ffs,how much is enough?
2.) GKK - Aye your totally right mate his nose has been put completely out of place and he don't like it therefore trying to milk us for everything!
Its time to make a Stand Fans!!
3.) If Ashley is doing this out of spite then he still needs our board to allow him to. It is the board that is allowing him to position himself in this way. The Easdales and Somers have turned down all external investors money which would go to the club in favour of Ashley's LOANS. They must be getting something for this.
4.) Blue steve I was listening to rock sport tonight, the easdales dont take a wage, they don't claim expenses, there loans have been paid back in full, they still own there shares, so why do they as rangers supporters side with Ashley, they must have been offered some thing in return IMO, somers has been proven to lie to the fans so why is he still employed at our club.

If the Ashley deal goes through which no doubt it will with his puppets that are on the board, does anyone know if we can start the club up again & lease Hampden instead of Ibrox, issue new retail contracts etc - Not Sports Direct and give Ashley nowt!
1.) Lots of red tape and would need to gain a licence. Would be easier to buy out a club - say at mirren " sorry buddies"
Perhaps that's what we should do with the trusts money!
Take the 13 players out of contract - or those we want! And start afresh
Let's leave ashley to his empty stadium and training academy that doesn't work!
I am convinced the SFA won't stand for the blatant two fingers approach by ashley. Will they threaten to remove rangers license due to business unable to operate without loans and operating at a loss.

Surely even if King falls the fit & proper test he must have another name up his sleeve to nominate, its time to back him at the EGM & get the so called board out!
JG - Get your head out off the sand m8 if Ashley gets the club there will be no club but a nice new Sports Direct Mega Store will appear.
We need to get them all out & I personally would start again if it meant the club had nothing to do with Ashley!

Aye a total boycott but with a mass protest outside Ibrox before the game on Friday and as some others have mentioned then go & watch the game in the pub!
Surely enough is enough?
@JG - Yeah but what percentage of votes were cast from Rangers men or fans! Nowhere near the amount of shares we have now.
