Steven Taylor has signed for Portland Timbers, I'd forgotten we even spoke to him!

gblue85

1.) 01 Aug 2016 18:56:38
Don't know if we offered him a deal but if we did and he didn't accept then no great loss. If that's the extent of his ambition in football best off not signing for us.

2.) 01 Aug 2016 19:02:17
We were obviously too much for him for the money. Another dud dodge. Go MW.

3.) 02 Aug 2016 13:19:32
we need a defender in this week at somepoint if not I will be disappointed in warbs as it is critical we have a settled defence for the new season!

Social media rumours have Mariappa on trial at Preston.

gblue85

1.) 25 Jul 2016 12:51:05
3 flights daily from Bristol to Preston and serviced by Menzies Aviation.

2.) 25 Jul 2016 13:33:38
Word on the street has it that Menzies Aviation Authority (MAA) sanctioned a private Concorde from Bristol to Preston.

3.) 25 Jul 2016 13:41:14
Where did his journey originate from? Without this info we are powerless to verify the credibility of the trip!

4.) 25 Jul 2016 14:46:41
PNE over glasgow rangers? Surely not, if so the guy needs help.

5.) 25 Jul 2016 14:47:27
Must have been john menzies who sanctioned it.

6.) 25 Jul 2016 17:44:00
Yep, John Menzies made the decision to sanction it and swiftly appointed WH Smith as the Flight Captain.

7.) 25 Jul 2016 21:42:28
Shopsmart are refuting any John menzies claims about WH Smith's and RS Mcoll's flight credentials. NISA are also claiming Mariappa was not on thier space shuttle flight to Spar.
Man I'm bored with this thread.

05 Jul 2016 15:10:58
Doing the rounds onTwitter that the striker is a cash deal and he is frustrated with lack of plating time last season. EPL player who has played at both Spurs and QPR. Crouch?

gblue85

1.) 05 Jul 2016 15:35:14
Taarabt?

2.) 05 Jul 2016 15:54:35
He fat, rubbish and his attitude is even worse!

3.) 05 Jul 2016 16:03:05
Tarbert is a wide man.

4.) 05 Jul 2016 16:03:50
And rvp would demand a ridiculously huge wage.

28 Jun 2016 17:47:44
Oguchi Onweyu (spelling) training with Rangers in the US.

gblue85

1.) 28 Jun 2016 18:02:53
Former usa and milan cb. Looked a player back in the day but a few bad injuries hampered him recently.

2.) 28 Jun 2016 18:12:16
Onyewu is about 34, I don't think we need another 30+ CB. Clint Hill filled that requirement.

3.) 28 Jun 2016 18:26:19
The guy has not played for 14 months don't think this is what we need.

4.) 28 Jun 2016 19:06:24
He looks more like a UFC fighter than a fitba player.

5.) 28 Jun 2016 19:26:56
At least we'd have a player over 6 foot!

6.) 28 Jun 2016 19:31:15
He's had 1club standard liege where he actually played a lot of games the rest of the clubs he's played hardly any weird 1 this.

7.) 28 Jun 2016 20:41:11
He was decent before he moved to Milan - he has been injured or rotten ever since.

I'm sorry but I see a manager who talks well but is very short on imagination. Every player we go for is someone either he or partland have had prior dealings with. There are other players out there.

Have to say I'm impressed with Celtic showing a bit of imagination and ambition with dembelle. Something we are desperately lacking. Instead we seem to be scouring the lost souls of lower league English football.

8.) 28 Jun 2016 20:05:58
if we had it our way we wouldn't have signed a 37 year old legend David Weir. If the guy proves his fitness he can e a big player for us.

9.) 28 Jun 2016 20:56:48
Oneywu may not be the answer but there's nothing wrong with having a look at him.

As for MW having a lack of imagination, well, if assembling the squad we have today on a tight budget is showing a lack of imagination then I'll take that any day.

FYI MW or FM have had no obvious prior dealings with Waghorn, Holt, Halliday, Tav, Crooks, Windass etc etc.

You're right though, Dembelle could prove to be a good signing, plenty of potential, but I'm certainly not worried.

I'm not a fan of linking us to ex players, but to contradict myself, I see Leeds are lining up a loan move for Kyle Bartley, he would definitely strengthen the defense.

10.) 28 Jun 2016 21:52:00
Do you sit on here fishing all day LUIGI?

11.) 29 Jun 2016 01:24:56
Luigi - 500k for Moussa Dembele is showing staggering imagination, I'm sure I read on the dark web that Seville, Molde and Malmo were after him - in fact parallel universe vision!

Fulham were outstanding in last years championship finishing 20th and with one of the best up and coming coaches in Peter Grant.

12.) 29 Jun 2016 05:50:46
Harry Forrester was a lost soul in the lower leagues.

13.) 29 Jun 2016 06:05:32
They will be paying him a fortune and a promise of a big money move whenever he has had enough of Glasgow weather, his agents will have seen the benefits of Desmonds money for now, 4 years guaranteed, cash going up every so often, then sold for plenty.

Did not see that midfield 3 coming! Looks like The Hat is proper going for it!

gblue85

1.) 10 Sep 2016 11:15:25
Windass will need to get thru a power of work as barton and niko have no pace.

2.) 10 Sep 2016 11:19:29
Yeah very bold team selection. Feel a bit sorry for Forreseter dropping to the bench though.

3.) 10 Sep 2016 11:44:31
Feel confident with this line up, and their top striker out . bonus . Let's go for it and show them!
For rester can make an impact from the bench as well! 💙❤✌.

23 Aug 2016 18:01:32
Crooks starts for u20s.

gblue85

1.) 23 Aug 2016 20:35:08
Who actually disagreed this.

2.) 23 Aug 2016 21:25:44
I know I put up a post last week and even said where my source was still got more disagrees than agrees.

3.) 23 Aug 2016 22:00:51
Crooks played for an hour tonight, had a good work out and got a yellow card.

4.) 23 Aug 2016 22:01:47
Dunno but i disagreed yours.

5.) 24 Aug 2016 13:33:05
Probably people FED UP with the crooks obsession.

Just a guess.

6.) 23 Aug 2016 21:41:19
Think he played around 60 mins at cb with loan boy from raith. intresting.

7.) 23 Aug 2016 00:04:12
Good on the boy but it's time to play with the big boys hope he's ready because we need him.

12 Jul 2016 18:39:55
Anybody who wants a look at Dodoo look up his debut for Leicester vs Bury in the league cup on YouTube. Well taken hat trick.

Ex Spurs and didn't play a lot last season is the social media chat for a striker. I'm. Chucking Frazer Campbell into the mixer.

gblue85

1.) 05 Jul 2016 18:26:49
I'll chuck Emmanuel Adebayor in.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 18:51:27
wouldn't mind campbell.

3.) 05 Jul 2016 21:58:28
Crouch played for the two of them. So defo hoping it's not him.

With Bartons contract starting tomorrow and him stating that he will be training in Monday does anybody have any idea if he is joining the squad in the States? I know people with criminal records can be denied entry to the US for certain offences, assault being one of then but they do allow it depending on the elapsed time since the offence.

gblue85

1.) 30 Jun 2016 18:58:50
Starts training with the 20's tomorrow and meets up with the squad next week.

2.) 30 Jun 2016 19:03:45
he cannot go to the states would not get a visa due to past performances.

3.) 30 Jun 2016 20:09:12
He has previously been knocked back from going to the States with Newcastle due to his conviction.

Before a player signs they go through a medical, regardless of how long he has been on trial it is a legal requirement for liability insurance.

The 1 mill action is separate to the 4 mill. It relates to use of club trademarks without our consent, namely the crest on the new shirt. After the current board got back control of all intellectual property (trademarked images and names) any use has to be ratified by its owner, in the case of the new kit it wasn't.

We were never back in for him. He played his best football for us as a midfielder, a position now filled and never got in in front of Wilson or Kiernan unless they were suspended or injured. Good memories of the semi final but he was a loan. I've still got good memories of Kyle Bartley.

The lad has been signed for the development squad. It says so in the club statement. A lot of young players were released at the end of the season, the squad that is in South Africa has an average of 17 and it's an u21 comp. Makes sense to bring him at no cost and if he plays well in the development squad he may have a chance at a permanent deal. Look at it as a 6 month trial for a youth player.

I would expect when fit the front 3 will be Waggy Garner McKay. Harry playing as one of the 3 midfielders.

Despite the 44 games he was hit by injury last season. Pretty stop start. The 2 previous seasons he was on fire. Would give us something different, plays more between the lines of the box rather than an in to out like Waggy and Dodoo.

King has spent money, just not in transfer fees, he has spent it on the far more important matter and that is fighting back against Ashley. Until Mike Ashley is out of our club we will never be self sufficient, if we cannot generate income then we cannot spend. We are not an EPL club, we don't have a Russian or a Sheik, we don't have a multi million pound tv deal. Our main sources of income over the years are season tickets, merch and European football, two of these have not been available for years and will not be available for at least this season. No real money will be spent until Mike Ashley has been removed from our club. And why hasn't Mr King commented on this. he legally can't.
