Mark Warburton has stated in the ET that key players could be sold in the January window if an offer comes in that represents good value for the player. He says if a player is being offered quadruple their salary to go down south he won't stand in their way. I hope this doesn't happen with waggy, tav or mickey but if it does I have complete faith that their replacements will be as good if not better as he will have more money to spend on them. In MW and DR we trust.

It's just the way it is going to be for the foreseeable, bringing players in for free or low cost, hopefully players improve and sell on for significant profit. None of the players joining us are coming here to play in the Champs League soon. Whether we like it or not we are we are seen as a 'stepping stone'- which, apart from when English clubs were banned from Europe, we always have been. It is just a pity MW was not available 3 years ago, although with the shenanigans going on then, he would probably have been hamstrung anyway.

Warburtoon only saying that cause got a good few players out of contract at end if season. law bell sheils etc. if we can get 100k for each then take it.

Hey there guys, my first choice for manager is Nigel Pearson as I think he would do a great job for us. However I doubt he would work under a DOF. Instead, what about Barry Ferguson with Alan Curbishley as DOF. He has been saying recently that he would love a job in an advisory capacity recently on five live instead of a managers job. Kind of mentoring a young manager. He has a wealth of knowledge and wee baz has a 40% win rate with Clyde since 2014. What's your thoughts on these two?

johnsd1

1.) 15 Feb 2017 03:02:18
Clyde is a nonentity and a win rate of 40% is pretty pathetic! Read what the Rangers CEO said, Rangers want the new manager to have the 'WOW' factor, it needs to be someone with gravitas, someone that can attract quality young players, a winner, and someone that knows what Rangers is all about! Barry probably only fits in to the latter of these.

He might have the potential to be part of the coaching team and would be a good acquisition at that level. He is also young enough to grow in the job!

As for Nigel Pearson and or Alan Curbishley I don't think that they would even be considered!

2.) 15 Feb 2017 07:19:52
40% win rate. That's not much worse than MW's win ratio when he was here! Not to mention he had much more cash to waste. I don't think ferguson is ready for a job that size but, he doesn't deserve some of the stick that people give him. He was one of our most successful captains of all time, only reason he left was PLG.
On another point, I saw the MD's interview where he said he wants a manager with the wow factor. In terms of available manager's at the minute it's hard to look past FDB, and anyone who criticises his time at Inter Milan need to look at what Inter were like during the Mancini reign. They were awful.

3.) 15 Feb 2017 11:16:21
Leave it out with the Barry stuff lads! He was a good player but not the brightest and is doing a questionable job at Clyde. Other than being an ex player what makes you think for a second he wouldn't be an epic failure?

4.) 15 Feb 2017 13:47:15
Have to say i was glad to hear the WOW factor mentioned.

It means numpties like Davies and Calderwood along with many others are not going to be considered

5.) 15 Feb 2017 13:58:41
TOMUSA, what do you think of garry monk as our new head coach, under a DOF? I know that having a chance of getting monk, would be dependent on leeds utd gaining promotion or not! I rate monk very highly. He's the ideal age as he's still only 37 years old but most importantly he's a very good coach! Thoughts?

Hey bears, I don't know if I'm gutted or relieved MW is gone now. I think he would have built something really good for us but it was taking too long. Anyway, onwards and upwards. Anyone think Nigel Pearson would do a good job for us? I think he would. Good luck to MW, DW AND FM.

Sorry guys I hit send too early. I was saying we should donate our merchandise money into a fund to give to rangers to improve the squad. Thus giving mark warburton money without giving any to ashley. What do you think beard?

I've posted on here before, if we have a worldwide fan base of say 200,000, if each fan gave £5 a week for the club, that would raise 52 million per season. Help buy better players and clear the debt.

2.) 21 Jan 2017 08:30:30
Brilliant idea if it worked. Don't think it is leagal though unless the the 200,000 people were shareholders and sat on the board. Board members Vito on contributions from other shareholders because the bigger their contribution the lower their stock becomes.

If one man invested £52m in a club he would almost certainly become a director in most instances and have a major influence on every other decision that happened from player signings to naming rights and sponsorships. DK tried to have the ownership diluted again by making shares available to buy so he could raise money but the idea lost vote failed by 1%. So need to wait until next years AGM unless suitable trustworthy investors are found.

3.) 21 Jan 2017 22:57:01
We all know why the Vote failed so we have another 12 months before anything can change however if we were to receive more income from merchandise sales that would be a significant benefit until the share structure can be altered.

As I have said before, it is my understanding that Sports Direct has no control over non UK Merchandise Sales and with the Worldwide Web why don't we sell our merchandise with our new strip manufacturers and sponsors through a 'web friendly Retailer' based outside of the UK, with the majority of the funds generated going to the club!

Anyone think we should offer Chris Burke another deal. He did well for us before and he has just been released by Nottingham Forest so no transfer fees involved. I think he would offer a bit of competition to mckay.

1.) 27 May 2016 14:57:48
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha are you for real? we're trying to build a decent team, in suppose he could clean the players boots :-D.

2.) 27 May 2016 19:33:24
I would give Burke a deal, sadly not Chris Burke. Young Oliver Burke of Nottingham Forrest. Will be Scotland's answer to Gareth Bale, mark my words. Expecting him to have a big season next year.

3.) 27 May 2016 20:00:18
Fraser aird in disguise.

Don't think he's the sort of hungry player we want.

Just had a look on transfermarkt. It looks like he has spent the last couple of years on loan and would is looking for a home. Valued about £550. I wouldn't mind him coming and watching MW and DW work their magic with him.

Bigalthunder, if the rumours about pulis are true then maybe he doesn't want to take over less than two weeks before we face celtic. After all if he took the job now and we get hammered at the end of the month what chance would he be given then. At least if he takes over in January he can assess the squad now and look at who he possibly wants or doesn't want and who he needs to bring in. After the hearts result maybe there is a slim chance of the league this season. You never know. Who would have predicted hearts beating them 4-0?

Your lucky mate, WH would only give me 100-1 on 10-0. Lol. I think the bears have heavily backed the gers for a huge win. Live are in for a gubbing in Govan. Lol.

Lol, sorry guys I got them the wrong way round. Trying to remember too much info. Pity about toral signing on loan for Birmingham. He looks a good player. Hopefully MW will put us out our misery today or tomorrow and tell us who the last two coming in are. I would be happy enough with what we have but if he brings in even more talented youngsters I certainly won't be complaining. Onwards and upwards.

I did the same dodger. Betfred gave me 16-1 on both the Scottish cup and the league cup. I put a few quid on both. Lol.
