Apparently Steve mclaren is Mark Allen's first choice candidate he's putting forward to the board. No compensation is required to release him from his coaching consultant role at tel aviv. I pray to God this is BS because he is a horrendous choice.

If Steve mclaren is mark allens first choice then we're forever doomed.

2.) 05 Nov 2017 20:50:55
If he's recommended McClaren then we should be looking for a new DOF and manager

Media reporting this morning that the board want mcinness and if that fails Stuart mccall will be offered the job. No being funny but he wasn't good enough to get the job first time around. I pray to God mcinness gets it as mccall doesn't fill me with excitement at all.

1.) 01 Nov 2017 07:34:35
Mcinnes fills you with excitment. We will win nothing with him in charge. We will be a 2nd rate team just like Aberdeen.

2.) 01 Nov 2017 09:17:37
He fills me with more excitement than any other manager who has been realistically mentioned. Knows rangers, knows the league and the opposition in that league, astute in the transfer market and eking to change up his tactics if and when needed so aye am all for him getting the job

3.) 01 Nov 2017 12:57:49
rfc chriss mcinnes is a good manager and lots of players get better and better under him and he knows the league and the club and knows football and hat it takes to be a ranger.

who would you go for and wy?

pardew for me knows the english game which isn't the same as ours davies is an alchy and who else is realistically gonny come to us when we have fans that write u off before you even get the job .

honestly wish fans like you would just do one and stop moaning at absalutely everything.

i didn't want pedro but got behind him and no matter who it is i will do the same this time its called supporting your club

Ed can we have a poll, mcinness moyes or pardew. Seem to be the three names being touted for us most. Personally I'm mcinness all day long. I do understand people's thinking with pardew and moyes and both have been about the premier league etc but for me those two are not the right fit for us.

Rangers Manager Poll

30 Oct 2017 18:33:18
Can't understand the clamour for pardew. The guy is a bellend. In your the bargain he is Mike Ashley's yes man. He's not exactly been successful either has he?

1.) 30 Oct 2017 21:10:16
Royster i totally agree i really don't want him as manager, it would end up a very very expensive gamble, he'll get it if ashleys involved somehow thougj

The position we find ourselves in was inevitable the minute Douglas Park and his son decided to persue the experiment rather than the tried and tested route. Pedro didn't have the credentials for a job as big as ours, quite simply he never earned the right to manage a club of our stature. Sitting fifth in the Qatari league merits the Ross County job or a club of that calibre yet the parks convinced the rest of the board he was the man who could take us to the next level . I sincerely hope they have nothing to do with this appointment as this one must be spot on. I'm a realistic kind of guy and understand we are not awash with cash, so Derek mcinness for me is the sensible choice. Hell improve us no end and he's smart in the transfer market, just Look at his signings. He brings guys in who can play in our league, plus they won't cost the earth, that at the moment is our priority, so blockbuster manager he is not but right now he is exactly what we need.

1.) 27 Oct 2017 17:17:21
How concrete is the rumour it was Park’s idea of employing Pedro?

2.) 27 Oct 2017 17:57:50
I was told by an ex player at a legends game months ago that it was parks son who really pushed for Pedro. Don't see any reason not to believe him

3.) 27 Oct 2017 18:06:19
BathgateBear it's not a rumour mate. The Park's orchestrated this through themselves and people close to Pedro. The info is 100% guaranteed and is common knowledge among people in and around Ibrox. The info was passed on to me in a conversation with someone very close to ex Rangers and Celtic players. I don't know any of the players personally mate and I was not privy to the initial conversation. My wife's uncle is involved with the ex players through the local team here in East Kilbride and it was him who told me. The ex player in question who passed this on also stays through here and there is no way he would make this up.
This was nothing less than total folly from two so called Rangers men which has resulted in absolute failure!

4.) 27 Oct 2017 18:57:26
100 per cent true. I have dealt with people around Graham park and Pedro Mendes is a very good friend of his. he pushed this through. he tried before the bread man was given the job bit failed but got his man this time. I'm to believe the parks put up the money for Pedro's compensation to Qatar club to prove there confidence in this.

5.) 27 Oct 2017 20:06:02
Roster, 'he brings guys in who can play in our league, plus they won't cost the earth'
Think if he gets the job he's in for a big shock - the Rangers come calling, add another zero!

Always was and always will be.

6.) 27 Oct 2017 20:11:28
I heard that it was Park Jnr rather than his old man that thought this was a good idea.

7.) 27 Oct 2017 20:29:22
It was his son naz but Douglas Park did fund the compensation package aswell so in turn pushed it through. A joke really because we were told he was the stand out candidate during a thorough and extensive selection process. Total bull

8.) 27 Oct 2017 20:37:46
You're right Naz. Park Jr was the main protagonist in this whole sorry mess with the full backing of his father. Both Park's had to give assurances on compensation, transfer budgets and payoffs if it didn't work out. From what I hear it was Park Snr who put the money up.

9.) 27 Oct 2017 23:08:22
Bottom line is the parks F'd the last appointment up big time. The board must surely look at getting in someone who is as close to a sure thing as possible. For me that guy is mcinness. The club, the league, the opposition, the type of player suited to our league are all things he knows inside out. Obviously the rangers Job is bigger than anything he's had before so that is the risk with mcinness but I think he's up to the challenge (that is if he'd take the job?! )

10.) 28 Oct 2017 07:54:10
Well can't trust there judgement then. that's the problem with too many investors they all want there say. What happened to the good old days of sir david murray. I miss those days, I watch the nine in a row games all the time from start to finish it fills me with joy. Ahh memories.

Ed help a bear out here! Reading a few reports on Facebook about an ally out protest outside the main stand this Saturday. have u heard anything at all?!

royster

{Ed039's Note - Heard someone trying to organise a protest but that seems to be a weekly thing, problem is there are too many fans groups and factions that these things are difficult to pull off)

1.) Thanks ed. I have sourced the original posts back to rangers media were 600 odd members voted on a get ally tae f@@k protest and a whopping 71% said yes let's protest. i'm sure some fans will disagree that ally should be treated like that but I for 1 will be joining the protest. The fans deserve better than what he has given us over the past 3 and a half seasons and his refusal to walk away and save the club the money it will cost to sack him is disgusting. His time is over and he should be left in no doubt how the vast majority of us feel

22 Nov 2014 22:59:00
At what point do we start protesting against Mccoist? Seriously how bad does it need to get? 12 points 15 points? let's act now before it's too late.

Hope he's right as I've just read an article in the last 10 minutes saying Mark Allen is going to push the board to appoint Steve mclaren. God help us if that's true

The board have interviewed no one yet so they aren't going to be appointing anyone at the start of next week. Don't get why some people on here claim to have sources, if you did you wouldn't be scrolling through rumours pages for info.

The media are a fickle bunch. Sucking up to celtic for the past couple of seasons because everything is rosy. We are still the biggest news in Scotland, sitting ducks for the media but the tims are lapping their nonsense up. While I have no time for the media we need to be careful with this whole ban them all mentality, it makes us look a bit weak and pathetic and as a club we need to show we are strong and can take criticism on the chin. It's the nature of the beast when a giant of any sport is having a rough time of things the public and media jump on the band wagon to keep them down, we will be back and once we are we can have our pop back at everyone who kicked us when we were down. Media included.

Who said anything about not wanting him because he's Catholic? Surely no one actually cares what religion the players and manager are anymore?

The board would have known he was on a limited amount of time to turn results around. If that's the situation then surely you say let's get a plan in place if needed. That's the sensible approach. The new manager should have been in place after the thistle game so he had time to get I think get settled and put his ideas across to the players
