Just speaking to a close friend a number off fringe players have been told they won't be part of first team squad next season, no real surprises
Others to be advised after season over.
Firth
Mayo
Middleton
Kelly
Maxwell
Simpson
Katic
Kennedy
Hastie
Won't generate much in fees or save much in salary however, it's the beginning of a clear out.

Yes no surprises there!

2.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 18:41:57
I don't think stephen Kelly has had a fair crack at it tbh and he's a player for me 🤔.

3.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 19:03:27
Coop, maybe Kelly isn’t as good as you think he is?

4.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 19:09:50
Massive fall out because he refused to go to hearts in January.

5.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 19:14:12
I can only go on what i see yately01 🤔I think the lad is a player mate and that's my opinion 🤔.

6.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 19:20:30
He looked bot bad in pre season but maybe the coaching staff deem him not up to standards 🤔.

7.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 19:41:54
Got to agree Kelly is a very good player.

8.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 20:18:21
This summer window is going to be massive for us, players John mentioned need to go, not sure what's happening morelos or aribo hopefully new contracts for both, I think kents going to leave in the summer, also davis and mcgregor will probably go, type of new players to be signed in the summer will depend on what transfer budget we have.

9.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 20:32:45
Mark more leaving for certain from first team squad.

10.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 21:00:10
Thats why winning the league this year is so important we need the £40m to rebuild the team. Unfortunately it’s looking as if we will finish second due to players wishing they were elsewhere. Just look at the Dortmund performance, players were up for it because it was a chance to put themselves in the shop window. Back to the league and players can’t raise their game.

11.) 06 Mar 2022
06 Mar 2022 21:28:45
Itten hopefully will go also, imo he's a worse player now than when he left us last summer, major overhaul needed in summer, we don't look anything like the team that won the league last season, can't understand this season performances at all right from the first game we haven't looked the same.

12.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 07:06:44
Itten will be going. U don’t tell a first team squad player like him and Balogun barisic in March they r not required
They simply won’t push themselves in case of injury.

13.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 09:13:42
Think balogun will stay John. Borna and itten will go though i agree.

14.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 10:09:47
Paul little point keeping Balogun when he struggles to play two in a row.

15.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 10:18:58
I can see goldson borna aribo kamara kent itten lunstrum balogun all go in summer plus ( greegs davis retire ) along with the names john said it back to
2013 squad material bit part players from dundee st mirren or so for coppers if we don't win league can't see park n co give gio a blank cheque book.

16.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 10:20:56
John25, we've held onto Jack for long enough. Just saying!

17.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 11:01:47
Both Kelly and Maxwell have not been served well by the club imo.

18.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 11:08:11
Would have liked Kelly and maxwell to be given a chance or a wee bit longer to prove themselves.

19.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 11:55:49
Bar what is your point, is it just more sniping, ewe just a convalescent home for players who hardly ever play.

20.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 12:26:48
I think his point is John that as much as we love Jack it's a bit pot calling kettle black saying Balogun is surplus to requirements if he can't play 2 or 3 games in a row.

21.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 12:46:10
Where do I say keep Jack, I’ve listed fringe players who apparently have no future.
Due to sickness injury etc I’d move McGregor Balogun Jack helander Davis Ramsey roofe if we can’t get 66% off games from them.
It’s easier when contract is up ie Balogun Davis McGregor Ramsey
More difficult with other three. We do need to look at their history b4 we sign them
But part the issue is we can’t move everyone, consider players people may want to buy, we suddenly need about 15 in.

22.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 13:08:59
Jack will be at rangers until he retires. Certainly play more than the 10 games that was suggested.

23.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 13:48:12
Paul since his return from injury how many 90 mint has he played as was Suggested by my self.

24.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 14:45:58
Again John, no one's saying keep/ get rid of Jack etc, and you're right it is obviously easier to move players on who's contracts are expiring, think Bar was meaning in the grander scheme of things players who can't complete 2 or 3 games in a row, no need to get defensive in your old age mate lol.

25.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 15:24:14
Lundstram will stay unless we get a bid at decent money. Will be a big player for us next season I believe.

26.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 15:40:21
Jack staying at Ibrox.

27.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 15:50:20
The only one from John's initial list that I am sorry to see there is Kelly, I seem to be only hearing positive things about him. In terms of other 'squad players' going, Itten would be at the top of my list and again I would agree with all of those listed by John based on the 66% that he mentions.
My major concern is that this is a lot of players to replace, especially guys like McGregor, Davis, and the Centre Backs if we are looking to replace them with better players or certainly players that are least of the same quality. We also definitely need a better back up for Morelos than Itten or the constantly injured Roofe and while I would like to think that some of our youngsters, (McCann for example), will get more game time, we will need to make some clever signings if we are not to end up with a weaker squad, (and as you know, I believe that our squad in currently weak as a result of poor signings over the past two seasons.
There are a lot of quality players available on Bosman but they will want a significant signing on fee and good wages, otherwise we will have to spend money on transfer fees.

28.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 16:55:35
Good post Berkshire
Ger I clearly state guys who can’t play majority of games need to be moved.
Sadly that includes Jack and others. Not necessarily all in next window.
We r standing still at present and that is not good.
We made a massive mistake in summer window by not improving the menu.
Here we go I agree re Lundstrum also believe Alfredo is to get an extended deal and goldston may be staying.

29.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 18:46:38
And I agree John mate, it's unfortunate for these boys who give their all, but we need a bit of a revamp this summer and on top of the list of players you mentioned, I think there may well be one or two big sales as well.

30.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 18:59:13
Aye John, how would you feel or what reaction would you have being told that before the end of season.

A no hoper will give no chances mate.

31.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 19:14:21
Exactly bluebilly,

32.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 20:21:42
I also think ryan jack will most definitely stay at rangers for the rest of his career and he's the no.1 midfielder for me, simple as that 👍Our midfield is miles better with jacko in it and therefore we're a much better team with jacko in it 👌.

33.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 20:49:24
Agreed sirwalter, despite his injury problems I'd love to see him stay, he's one of the first names on the team sheet for me, team plays better with him playing, also those around him play better, lundstrum looks a much better player playing alongside jack.

34.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 21:01:06
Our midfield is miles better therefor we're a better team. No s**t sherlock any other pearls of wisdom? 😂.

35.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 21:12:27
Ger88,i've been saying this regarding jacko for at least 2 years now Dr. Watson 🤔.

36.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 21:22:41
It's the double point to the same conclusion sweetness. And I know how highly you rate Jacko I'm sure we all do. Now are there any other mysteries to solve scoobs? 🐕.

37.) 07 Mar 2022
07 Mar 2022 21:57:35
I don't know shaggy how about you ask daphne 😂😂.

38.) 08 Mar 2022
08 Mar 2022 01:22:39
That daphne is a wee vixen 😂.

39.) 08 Mar 2022
08 Mar 2022 05:15:28
I agree Herewego55,i think lundstram will go on to be a big player for us next season, as you can see he's now settling into a club our size and scottish football in general 👍.

40.) 08 Mar 2022
08 Mar 2022 06:28:13
I am really confused re Jack. No way I say he is leaving.
Loads say he witnessed at rangers till end off career. When will his career end when his contract expires best year or longer.
Most understand he ain’t playing 40 plus games a season so do we give him a new deal or pay someone who can hardly play.

41.) 08 Mar 2022
08 Mar 2022 09:21:52
I agree John we all know when Jack is fit he’s in the team no question on that but do we then need another mid Fiji’s to to play when Jack is not available? I also agree on us standing still snd have posted many times on here about that, we needed to freshen up the squad to push for that title but through bad signings who are no more that squad players or are not fit we have the same squad who have lost that sparkle.

42.) 08 Mar 2022
08 Mar 2022 15:43:25
Second place can get into champions league as well just need to win our qualifiers and no Bottle it like we did against malmo.

43.) 08 Mar 2022
08 Mar 2022 16:22:14
Tango you’re talking as if Celtic have already won the title.

44.) 12 Mar 2022
12 Mar 2022 16:12:19
There has been a lot of debate regarding Jack and Balogun and whether Balogun should be given a new contract given their respective injury history however having watched both players in the UEFA Cup game against red Star I would suggest that both merit remaining at Ibrox, Balogun for a further season and Jack at least until the end of his current contract. neither player is earning a large wage in comparative terms and I would suggest that even if they only play 50% of the games that they are worth their place in the squad. (This is different than the situation with Roofe given his weekly wage where if we could recover our transfer fee for him I would say that he should be sold) . Lundstram plays much better with jack alongside him and Balogun is arguably our best centre back. This summer we will need to add at least four or five first team starters to the Team and it seems crazy to let Balogun go when we are already most likely to lose Goldson. I would also suggest that there are a number of top quality players at the end of their contracts in midfield, (both defensive and in attack), that would be worth targeting and we should be looking for a couple of experienced players to replace Davis and potentially Arfield.

45.) 13 Mar 2022
13 Mar 2022 07:24:44
I’d say a lot of yous guys are too critical of our players. Lundstrum has stepped up to the mark he was at in the prem, Ryan Jack looks like the player we always thought he was and let's not forget Kemar Roofe scored the goals that won us the league last season (top goal scorer) and still has a healthy scoring record this season even with his recurring injuries. I agree though that there is a lot outwith our starting XI that will never be good enough with Itten and Scott Wright etc not to mention the guys out on loan.

46.) 13 Mar 2022
13 Mar 2022 13:34:40
Agreed ac21.
