Just got this txt from an old friend:
"I was down the football ground today and the story is that if we get promotion we're coming after your captain to lead Bournemouth. Last night confirmed to Scott Parker that Tavernier would be an ideal signing, great age, great player and we'll get him for about £7m. "

Now all this is totally a rumour but that's the story, guys.

6 goals 2 assists 11 games in europa league 1nd his stats in the league say it all think it would cost just over 12 million for any team to get tav.

Plausible however I think we could get a bit more based on his goals and assists.

Would 7m be enough? I know he is 30 but I would be looking for slightly more than the 7.

My record (for an ex-journalist) isn't great for rumours, and I do agree he is worth more than this. It actually came from someone who knows the Redknapp family well, which is the only bit of this wee story I know to be factual.

Can’t see us parting with Tav for £7m. I know he’s 30 and that’s decent money for someone of his age but how much would you need to buy someone to reproduce what he does in this day and age? I’d be holding out until it entered the ‘stupid money’ stage where we don’t have an option to refuse. Not sure he would want to go either?

£10m minimum or get lost!

They maybe want him but can't see it. Not nearly enough for rangers and he's not going to want a relegation battle. Don't think he's pushing to leave either.

Lol NOBODY has bid anything for Tavernier in all his time at Rangers but someone did buy another RB who wrongly sat on the bench for 2 years for £12m.

Now if Tavernier is so good then why did nobody bid £12 for him? .

He is shocking defensively and that is quite a major part of being a RB believe it or not.

Nobody is going to pay 8,10 or anything like £12 for him to ship you goals every week in the EPL! He gets the p. taken out of him by Ross County!

Craigmp same is said about most modern full backs now even trent at Liverpool. Its the role he plays being asked to attack more than defend. How much was wan bisaka, Shaw etc even kyle walker gets questioned defensively. Its the gamble u get with attacking full backs and Tav more than makes up for errors with goals an assists incredible.

Craigmp are you sweep in disguise.

Craigmp, that's quite easy to work out pal as everton paid as much for young nathan patterson because of his age and undoubted potential 🤔
Tavernier is better than nathan patterson at the moment plain and simple for me pal! I'm not saying that young patterson can't go on to be better than tav, but i could never understand why some wanted us just to drop tav and try and sell him just because patterson was a good young, upcoming talent 🤔 It's about biding your time and without a doubt tav deserved to stay as our no.1 right back with stats that he's got🤔 absolute no brainer 👌.

Tav is not shocking defensively.

We will miss Tav massively when he goes. The number of goals and assists he gives us will be very difficult to replace.

He does make the odd mistake at the back but the number of goals he contributes to more than makes up for that.

Think we would take 7 million with his age, Although I'd rather keep him until we settle our back four. I'd keep borna bassey balogun Tav recall katic get rid of Simpson helander and get a top quality replacement for goldson.

Bournemouth have about as big a fan base as Auchinleck Talbot. Unless they offered ridiculous wages i think our Captain would tell them where to go.

AC21, I believe Bournemouth already pay at least two players more than £50k a week, that's more than double what we pay Tavernier. For the last three years or whatever of his paying career, that sort of money would be a huge enticement. He's not an international, he's now 30, he's a good pro who would look to take care of himself and his family as best he can. The crowds mean nothing.

Exactly tavsonloyal, it’s money in bank that counts
Look what Defoe was on.

Craig I feel tavernier has improved defensively and as much as I like Patterson 2 different managers have preferred tavernier so he must be doing something right.

16 Apr 2022 18:00:27
It's as clear as day to me bgate w that at this moment in time tavernier is better than patterson 🤔.

20.) 16 Apr 2022
16 Apr 2022 18:42:57
For his age 7 million would be a great deal for us we ain’t getting much more 12 million is just ludicrous.

21.) 16 Apr 2022
16 Apr 2022 20:35:06
We won't be getting anything for tav stormtrooper because i can't see tav leaving rangers anytime soon and i for one am glad mate 👍.

22.) 17 Apr 2022
17 Apr 2022 08:29:24
I wouldn't sell tav and Tav isn't going to want to leave.

23.) 17 Apr 2022
17 Apr 2022 11:54:16
We surely don't sell Patterson if any doubts over Tav long term but 7m wouldn't be enough and he's 1 we need to keep with such a big rebuild about to start.

Tav for me is irreplaceable! He was our best attacking option going forward on Thursday night as well as having a generally decent game at the back. £7m doesn’t cut it for me, and before I get shot down for having blue tinted glasses on, I value Tav more than Kent, just look at the stats. Tav joint top goal scorer in EL this season, and he is a defender.
