Gio turned the fortunes of Morelos and Lundstram around, let's see what Gio can do with Katic and Hagi. Mind big Katic bulleting a winning header past them, never looked out of place. Best CB we had at that time.

He’s still young amd raw. Think of young craig Moore. Was a bomb scare and we dreaded seeing his name on the te sheet, given he played every and rm at times but katic is a similar player to oz.
I think he could come back and surprise a lot of people I’ll be glad to see him back great young centre half.

I always think we're better when we play a 'ball playing' centre half and a 'ball winning' centre half and I'd like to see Katic given a chunk of pre-season to prove himself - even if it's to play a supporting role behind Helander.

I always liked him but I think it’s the same issue as I called out with Kipré I just don’t think his distribution is on par with Gio’s expectations. The big man would run through a brick wall for you but our game is more than that now.

For a long time Katic had scored more goals against Celtic than MORELOS. Given that Gerrard hardly played him, i think it's unfair to say he isn't good enough when he's made less mistakes than Goldson (whenever he did get in the team) and scored more goals against our biggest rivals (for a long period of time) than our no1 Striker.

But he's not good enough ofcourse.

Katic is a CB who is good when the ball is in the air, he’s poor with it on the deck. I can’t see him playing in a Gio style set up.

I would be surprised if he strengthens our first team, see a few comments that he’s young and should be given a chance but he’s 25 now and had plenty of chances.

That said would like him to do well as he seems to love the club, but that shouldn’t be a reason to keep.

That’s true John we can’t but centre halfs don’t really make an impact at big clubs at 25, my thinking was he’s good enough as nackbukk lol and see if he can mature into a first choice over the next few seasons.
He’s defos a good enough back up only thing is would he block kings path to 1st team.
Injury dependant, centre halfs can play further on than say a centre mid or a winger for example
But point taken john.

People being negative on katic he is a right central defender. We played him out of position to accommodate goldson. People seem to forget katic was the man that helped turn the tide v Celtic at parkhead with winning goal. Is souttar better than katic. no. is Simpson better than katic no. is king maybe we don't know enough about him really. I'd much rather have a katic than helander who can't be rellied apon to be fit. Our defense has been woeful from last quarter of season we won the league anyone that can't see that must be mental. When we are conceding cross balls every other week you got to look at central defenders. I for one am glad quitter goldson is off.

Depends on how Katic has got on in his loan spell, may well be an improved player now, which I hope he is. I always liked hime but recognised that he had weaknesses that he had to sort.

Cmon guys. Souter is better than goldson who's much better than katic.
We're going for cl, we've a bit of cash, we should be going for players better than what we have, not bringing back players who might make your 4th best cb. He had his time.
