Heard we are being linked with Ellis Simms, think he would be a good option definitely impressed when playing for Hearts so worth a punt. Thoughts ??

I thought he was OK at hearts, posed an ariel threat against us and was strong, worked hard too, could do a wee job in the spl, don't think he is the man to take us forward tho.

He’d be a good player to have in the squad no doubt. Impressed with him at Hearts and thought he was a stand out whenever I watched them. Might command too high a fee for a squad player though.

Lad works hard and looked decent enough for hearts last season. He is young enough to develop but I can't see Everton selling him and hate seeing us bring on players for other clubs. It would be a loan deal and from what I hear he is highly regarded by a few coaches at Everton so wouldn't be cheap if option to buy was included. My question is would he get into our first 11? And would he be best option at Everton asking price. For me the answer would be no to both. I want to see us shoe some ambition. If we wanted a player of simms level could get the wee forward from Ross County for free.

I spoke with a contact at Everton, he says that at present they have no plans to sell Simms so on that basis it would be a loan move and that for me is a no no!
