Good morning fellow Bears.

I see in the papers today that Nottingham Forrest are sniffing around Big Joe Aribo.

The article highlights that Forrest have already spent big on a Nigerian international, one that isn’t as well regarded as Aribo, and that their billionaire owner is happy to spend more.

I hope he has deep pockets. I don’t know the ins and outs of transfer business, but I think £15m would be a fair prize for one of our top players.

Would love a wee cheeky 15-20% sell on too if it can be worked in to any deal that might be made.

Have you got an inside track on this one @John?

One year left on contract bid of about 10 million will get him.

I agree with stormtrooper that around the £10million mark will get joe aribo and i always thought he would be definitely the first big hitter to be sold.

If Nottingham Forest signed him for £17.5 mil then We should be asking for no less than around the same fee

Aribo is the Nigerian first pick attacking midfielder, although this guy is a unit he doesn’t have the same impact on that team

Seen a popular Rangers podcast show on YouTube during the week mention a few of around £8-10 mil would be what we should be looking for

Absolute joke, that fee would then determine the fees we would be willing to accept from all players with 1 yr left on their contracts

Aribo won’t leave unless

1 - He has a smaller release fee attached to his contract which determines his transfer value
2 - we receive a suitable offer which falls in line with a guy who just scored in a major European final, first pick Nigerian international and heals just played 70 games in a season

The 70 games alone would be enough value add selling we would require in order to demand a higher fee

I have faith that the board will get the right price for Joe.

I honestly don’t see how playing 70 games in one season adds value to be honest. He went thru a season not being injured.

£15 plus add ons.

6.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 11:03:35
Celtoc got 13 for ajer last year of deal and got more for eduoard also last year of deal. No less than 13 for aribo.

25 Jun 2022 11:15:42
Storm, given the list of Emergency Ward 10 players we have, 70 was quite impressive ?.

8.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 11:18:48
Aribo supposedly has a £10m release clause activated in the final year of his contract (according to previous posts on here from people who have a track record of knowing their stuff) . So all stuff about £15m is very wishful thinking.

9.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 11:20:05
Paul but these figures included future add ons.

10.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 11:21:47
Storm It highlights the guy is not injured, always available, says a lot about his character and he's first name on every managers team sheet atm that's adding value for me mate.

11.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 11:26:47
It was impressive mate and not saying it isn’t but doesn’t add value for me.

The other Nigerian boy who isn't as highly regarded had more than one year on contract and scored over 20 goals in German league which is a lot better than Scottish league also he is a striker and aribo isn’t. You can’t compare them. Also who is it the that decides who is highly regarded more than the other?

Paul doesn’t matter what Celtic got for their players.

They are also rumors aribo has a release clause in contract don’t know if it’s true or not.

Three houses are up for sale on the same street

The first of those houses sells way below market value and the original asking price

How does that sale price affect the other sale price of the two other houses

Simple business one O one, use the stats and relative market value to get the right price for our players

Use Austria/ Belgium as relative markets where players sell consistently over £20 mil.

£10 million if one team is interested aye but if 3/ 4 prem teams are sniffing about it’s a easy £15 million as there will be a bidding war.

Storm IT TOTALLY MATTERS what Celtic got. It sets a standard and a baseline for our price. It’s basic retail mate. Like selling a house. At some point the value increases as demand increases. Then at some point a house will sell for more than any other previously! That street has now increased its value! Anyone selling their house now has a new bench mark and asking price!

That’s how it works. So previous record shows that Kjaer and Eduarde in final seasons had a value greater than half on here understand. On top of that Edourde not even an international player. Aribo is No.10 for Eagles that itself has value.

If you are selling you highlight the values. Your attitude is that of a buyer not a seller. Quite honestly why so many Gers want us to line other teams pockets is staggering.

It’s up to Rangers to set their stall out and stand strong.

I said at the end of the season Wilson has a big window to get things right. Selling key players for a value in OUR favour is part of that. Get it wrong and he has question marks against him.

He was outstanding in his management of SG leaving and was meticulous so I think he will come good.

Aribo is £15m and potentially more with the right clauses built in!

Sell less it’s a failure. You should never settle for less.

If Wilson undersells players this window for me he will have failed and devalued the club.

It’s also worth highlighting that contracts should not have been agreed with key players ending in the same year. I mentioned this at the time and was told to calm down! Well we now have that problem where too many at once have more power and influence over the team.

Gdog it doesn’t matter what Celtic got one bit.

16.) 25 Jun 2022

Sydney house selling in the same street is completely irrelevant to selling football players.

17.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 13:35:38
GDog. As much as i agree its a baseline and scottish clubs should be asking for more for their players, but
Aribo is meant to have a clause in his contract when he enters the final year similar to Haaland which means he can be purchased for a cheaper price.

Im with storm, as i replied to you yesterday on another post its down to the interested club how much they are willing to pay and how much they see their value increasing down to performance.

Its alright for rangers to demand a big fee but doesn't mean a club is going to meet this and can end up losing aribo or morelos for nothing on a bosman.

We need to do what's best for the club and follow the trading model. Buy small sell for a big profit.

18.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 14:16:59
Storm aye it does! ?.

19.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 14:17:54
RFC great points! Another reason why his value stays strong.

20.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 14:23:47
Irvblue yes there is a ‘he’s only worth what people are willing pay’

That’s what you say when you are the buyer! Selling is one of the oldest games on earth. There are those that are good at it and those that are bad.

From experience I can tell you some on here would get their ass wiped day in day out and I would happily buy off you regularly knowing I've saved a mint!

21.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 14:28:34
Stormtrooper we will disagree to agree as we both want what’s best for our team.

22.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 14:47:40
I replied back irvger as you are 100%.

Gdog in your opinion yes in mine it doesn’t so we will leave there as I don’t one to get into a childish argument with someone like you.

Ps Gdog if he does have a clause in contract like it’s rumored then it definitely 100% doesn’t matter but have a good weekend.

Correct Sydney we won’t always agree, but what the same thing.

23.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 16:31:03
Prices paid affect ALL market values.

24.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 16:43:53
GDog, they didn’t get £13m for Ajer. It was around £6-7m plus add ins totalling max £13m. They report it as the max price £13m to appease they’re fans. Same for French eddy, Dembele and the rest.

25.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 17:06:33
Correct borna. Only need to read their accounts.

26.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 19:11:09
Joe Aribo has a 10 million release clause that becomes live on July the 1st.

27.) 25 Jun 2022
25 Jun 2022 20:45:58
Correct borna it was the same for frimpong they said they got 12 million for him and they didn’t but some of our Gullible fans believe it.

28.) 26 Jun 2022
26 Jun 2022 12:29:15
I don’t think Celtic would be allowed to report in their accounts money they didn’t get for players and would have to put actual figures in. John 25 you seem to be very knowledgeable in this area can they actual record money not received and if so how is this possible?

Thanks.
