I hope he can play as a striker too because I’m quickly losing confidence in Colak. We can’t be a team totally dependant on Morelos to lead the forward line as we have been for years. We must have another striker in to complete for that position. One that is actually a back to goal, link up play, type of striker - Like Morelos.

Colak has played two games and scored a very good header that should have counted, give the man a break and time to settle, if he does nothing until Christmas then judge him, if think he will score plenty for us, many people on here are judging players after a game or two and I feel that is unreal of them.

Rangers put over 40 crosses into the box against Livingston. Colak was on the end of one and it was called for offside. He doesn’t get on the end of those crosses, he doesn’t drop deep as seen midweek (and there’s a detailed player analysis on this at Rangers Review is anyone cares to read it) . His link up play is non existent.

Colak has been terrible during his initially competitive games for Rangers and it has nothing to do with service. He just can’t seem to get involved. Even former pros like Mark Hateley have called him out.

We need to see more from Colak. A lot more. Right now he’s nowhere near it.

Stats can be totally misleading. 40 crosses yes, but how many were of actual quality? My lassie could cross the ball 40 times . but 39 of them would be rubbish.

I was very sceltic of caolak signing but I actually think he's looked good at times, he's starved of service, he seems to chase an fight, his header at livvy was excellent and took his goal. aell in pre season too think that was offside too, to judge him this early is tad early, I'd like to see him with a partner like a good old fashioned 4-4-2, no idea why we can't play two up to away to teams that sit camped in, completely baffles me.

Rangers put OVER 40 crosses in to the Livingston box. Tavernier and Barisic were personally responsible for 30 of them. They’re pretty good crossers of the ball are they not? A striker who is good in the air might thrive on that type of service.

Here’s another interesting stat - Colak only touched the football 9 times against Livingston. once every 10 minutes on average. This is despite the fact the ball was being constantly fired into the opposition box.

Dress up up how you like, those first two competing matches were completely unacceptable. These qualifiers are the biggest games of the season. £25m on the line. Morelos has been out for some time and rushing him back to save the day isn’t ideal - But that’s what we’ll end up doing. We need someone in who is good enough to do a job when Morelos is out. I’m sure most Rangers fans will agree with that.

Colak missed only one good cross into the box. He had no service from a rubbish midfield performance, Rabbi was non existent too. It was a shower of rubbish that performance all over not just Colak. Gee the guy a break.

verdant has a valid point if his stats are correct, bog mark had a tough time at first, but his will to win and his raw courage was incredible

colak should be shown hatteley videos, and tav need to stop the incessant poor crosses, let a player with a touch like tommy mclean put the ball over, variation is desperatel;y needed in this team, the whole world knows what's coming, having one a month kent back won't change that and rangers need a regular scorer from midfield, let lawrence roam is my opinion.

VerdantAbyss; I take it you didn’t watch the game you only read stats yes the two full back out over crosses if you could call them that but unless Colak was standing on stilts there was no way he was getting on any of them they were landing outside the penalty box on the other side with no one touching the ball not even a Livi defender so if they were good crosses someone would have got on them be it and attacker or a defender but crosses were pure p. so I’d say you can dress it up with stats but unless he can reach the ball there’s nothing he can do.

You would think Hateley of all people would cut Colak some slack early on. He was slated and written off by many people at the start of his Rangers career and he`s now described as a legend . Time will tell, but a little bit of decent service would help the guy.

Touching on my point from yesterday,

“Colak made three passes against Livi, two of which were kick-offs. He actually broke the code for the pass map as he wasn’t involved before the 46th minute. “ - Jordan Campbell posted this on his twitter this morning.

As people pour over the data it’s becoming increasingly obvious that Colak has been anonymous during those last two games. We really need Morelos back, or another striker in.

I hope Colak improves as much as all of you do. However, I’d still say we need another option in now in case Colak fails.

My problem with Colak is that he looks very static and doesn't come back for the ball, doesn't have Morelos ability to hold the ball up and doesn't have the skill set to go at defences. Of course I don't see him as any more than a replacement for Itten but if he is to be our No 1 striker then we will need to change our style to accommodate him. I am still hoping that we can offload Roofe and bring in a top quality back up for Morelos.

Completely disagree with this 'Support every player 100% or your not a real fan' narrative many posters on this site have tbh, if that's the way you want to support the club then fair do's you do you however everyone is entitled to their own opinions and my opinion is that we shouldn't have to accept abject performances from players we know can produce much better than they have done in recent games out of fear of being labelled 'not a true fan'
