With all the uncertainty at present regarding investment and transfer funding I fear Gerard will reject the job offer. I hope i am completely wrong as I feel he could bring a lot to the club. I have a bad feeling especially as more time passes by. This would leave us in a worse situation as anyone then offered the job would know their not first choice. i just hope we can get this over the line very soon and he can quickly start the massive challenge ahead of him

I am confident the deal is done Stevie and already working on ins and outs. He might be next Pep or as we keep getting told Barnes but I for one think it is a good signing and will drive us towards Celtic as I don’t believe we are as far behind as numerous pundits and media love to tell us

I don't think a professional manager would be too fussed about not being first choice. If he fancies the job he would be more than happy to take it. I would love the big ticket name of Gerrard as it would give us all the boost we need, but if it's not to be him, and there IS money for a new man to rebuild our squad, then it's still all good. Let's put it this way, with respect, if it were Stevie Clark or Alec Mcliesh etc etc we were chasing, it would be a safe bet to assume our player budget "war chest" would be £5 mill or so AFTER selling half the squad! Chasing Gerrard to me, means there is decent cash to spend this Summer

From my understanding the deal is pretty much done. i'm excited about the future. Stevie G is a big name in football and i'm sure he will look at his ties to Liverpool and England to bring in some good talent, a few shock signings in the summer i'm thinking.

The thing I love most is this perception that with Gerrard a great player looking for his first test as a manager (be raging if my team took this chance at this stage) . Comes this immediate acceptance and fantasy of investment. But at the same time you talk about Stevie Clark. A manager that has managed and done okay/ very well on the big stage as well as working magic in this very league (I'm sure Kille had 2 points out possible 18 when he took over) and a manager you would never get if you wanted. But with the mention of a big name (as a player) everything goes out the window and in a matter of days after the most humbling TWO results in OF history. The tims are shiteing themselves. Was same with Barton, Alves, Dorrans, Murphy as players. You'll really never learn
