Tomthumb can you explain what players are want away from rangers and when did they say this . if you're talking about Alfredo tell me when he said I want to leave it's all paper talk and media stuff. . at some point he will leave and good luck to him when he does. but right now he, s rangers and I'll support him always until he himself says so . he, s a class player on his does a lot more for the team than just score goals.

Dava morelos said 2 weeks ago that he hopes he's can leave rangers soon. Direct quote from him. But also said he is happy at the club if nobody meets clubs valuation.

Dava p it’s not a secret that Alf wants away, Goldson hasn’t signed a deal put to him months ago and Kent either,
There may be more, let’s just hope they see the season out but it’s doubtful.

Let's face it guys, the players are in their jobs as a career, and just like the rest of us they want to earn the best financial rewards possible.

Dedicated Rangers or not, money talks in all walks of life.

Cheers guys.

If any player thinks they're good enough to move on to a bigger league, then good for them. Moving to a better league is one thing, but finding a bigger club than Rangers is another. How many of our players are good enough to play for a top 5 side in all the top leagues? As long as any player who fancies a move do their job, don't down tools, and keep performing, then that's good enough for me.

Spot on BMGH01.
I've no problem with players wanting to "better" themselves whether it is financially or professionally.
It works both ways in that you can earn decent fees for them and attract players who aren't quite ready for the move to the "big" leagues but can get the chance to showcase their talents at Rangers.
Unfortunately that's just our standing in football nowadays.
The issue is when players down tools and hinder the team.
There's a fine balance to holding onto players too long and letting them go whether the fee is right or not.

BMG, I agree fully that players should not down tools and that they should keep performing. Indeed I would suggest that for them to get the move that they might desire they should strive to up their game. Unfortunately, while rangers play in such a farcically poor League as the SPFL they will always have problems holding on to our better players, and not just because of the Financial rewards.

As a result of this we will always need to be identifying the best young players, either home grown, or brought in from other Clubs, in the knowledge that they will move on at some point. For me, two things are fundamental, we need to be successful in the SPFL and we need to reach the latter stages of whichever European Tournament we are playing in since we will almost certainly need to invest on at least one or two players each season to maintain or improve our standard.

Exactly MPH! I always think back to the 5m we lost out on Laudrup when Ajax wanted him, but Murray convinced him to stay another year. If we're being honest, Laudrup never really bothered his arse that season, and in the end, he left for nothing and signed for Chelsea. A poor decision made from the heart not the head!

Folks if I was Goldson I would be bursting my gut to show what I could do against Lyon etc. Free transfer big pay off day.

BMG and MPH. I agree. With champs league spot up for grabs then maybe it makes sense. However I remember Laudrup that season and a few others. McCoist was scoring but blowing out his arse. 😁 In fact Sir Walter admitted he should have let others go to freshen up that 9 in a row squad. Good business is knowing when to get in and when to get out. We need to keep bring in players that want to show what they can do. Then move to a top 8 to bottom premier club.

Not often we agree but that’s exactly what I’m saying, with different replies obvs

Players tend to look after themselves, discovering niggles they didn’t have before, suddenly lose form as leaving time grows nearer
Nobody will deny anyone improving their lot

But., Have Rangers allowed too many to be in a want away position at the same time?
