I can see a law being passed stopping mass groups of fans running on the park. I understood this as part of celebrating winning something momentous however, with the Billy sharp and Ollie McBurnie incidents over the last few days I feel something will have to change. Swindon players are also suggesting physical violence aim towards them as well.

Lastly, what on Earth are the Everton fans doing? You’d think they’ve just won the championship league never mind finishing 17th in the EPL? It reminds me of the Dundee manager jumping about celebrating finishing 6th in the SPL.

{Ed001's Note - I thought there already was a law against it?}

I hope these can be enforced then Ed, can’t have players being assaulted. You must have been in stitches watching Everton celebrating failure. Honestly, 17th they should be embarrassed not running about like champions .

{Ed001's Note - that's as good as a trophy to them! It is about as close as they have got to winning anything since the 90s, bless them.

You are right though, they should be enforcing them, the lad who attacked Billy Sharp actually had the charge for encroaching on the field of play dropped! I know he got jailed, but it is not like he could deny it when he admitted being there to headbutt Sharp. The justice system in the UK needs an overhaul.}

Similar to our fans running on the pitch at partick thistle to secure european football in 3rd place i think. If we won on wed i have no dount there woukd have been people run on the pitch.

{Ed001's Note - it would be ok if they just celebrated, but far too often people end up getting hurt it needs to be stopped for the safety of the players and officials. All we need is an incident like at the tennis when that female player (was it Monica Seles?) was stabbed by a crazed lunatic. It could easily happen.}

I agree Paul we would have mate, no doubt. I could at least understand that as we would have won something. Fans running on the park for making a final or staying in the league is questionable (staying in the league is celebrating failure) . I love the response Ed ‘bliss them’ it out a smile on my face.

{Ed001's Note - glad to hear it mate, I have to admit seeing the scenes put a huge smile on my face. It was hilarious to see them celebrate not getting relegated and how Lampard is a great for avoiding the mess he put them in anyway!}

Doesn't help when the pundits and media praise them and say wonderful scenes. And chairman like hibs guy after their fans attacked rangers players and caused battle at hampden laughing and saying they just over exuberant. Hard to charge and ban thousands but if club actually got massive fine he'd certainly beef up security. There wasn't a single person on the pitch for europa probably because Spanish enforce much stronger security. Don't think it's just a issue.

Haven't Rangers been fined this season by UEFA for kids running onto the park at the end of matches?

High fences all around the stands.

INTR high fences were introduced previously, but had to be taken down due to safety concerns i. e. a fire.

Have you tried watching through them fences when sitting at the front? I had the pleasure in Belgium. Its terrible viewing.

Fences are no good either after the Hillsborough tragedy. Also, no matter how many police or stewards you have at the match, there will never be enough to quell a mob. My god, imagine an OF game at either ground if there was an invasion. Players lives would be at risk. Doesn't bear thinking about tbh.
