Hi chaps. With the mad season almost upon us, there was always one signing that has always kept me wondering. That of Colin Hendry. I've always thought that it was foisted on Advocaat from above. My reason being, I don't think he got a fair crack at it. Having no inside information can any of you enlighten me?

Don't hold any facts either Parlance but was this not around the time where you were limited to how many foreigners you were allowed in Europe etc. Could be we bought as best of Scotland at time?

Blue I always thought maybe Murray wanted a more Scottish presence in the side. Don't know as I said pure guess work on my part mate.

We had wanted Colin he for years and it never really happened due to the level he was performing and winnin premiership at time.
He was one of the best centre halfs in England at the time.
Feel when we got him he was way past his best amd at £5m I believe is that correct? We payed over the odds and he suffered from injuries. but he had some great performances especially in Europe I remember on game he came sprinting back from distance sliding in and smashing his knee off the post with some force.
Top player, if only we got him 3 years earlier.

Word on the street at the time was that Dick didn't want big Hendry. Don't know if any truth in it. The big guy did well though imo.

rangers traditionally had a few scotland skippers, think this was a factor, along with murray’s incredible ego.

Could have been amo. Can't remember tbh. Just seem to remember that maybe Advocaat didn't want the big guy and that Murray pulled rank. Could be right Tom.
