I read rangers review suggest we sell bassey to free up money to strengthen forward areas it appears the athletic had something when they wrote only 1 player signed anymore we need to sell. If true what's happened to the money generated ftom EL Nathan Patterson sale and SG compo.

I've stopped posting on here about my thoughts on our finances because I was being told I was negative but what I will say is I think a lot of fans are going be very disappointed the amount Gio gets for his rebuild. IMO it will depend on selling to rebuild and like it or not if we get ac20 million + bid for Bassey he's getting sold.

And the 40 million europa run. will be interesting to see when they release accounts.

10mil-15mil budget I reckon excluding additional funds if players are sold.

Negative or not sweep mate, your thoughts are your thoughts and you are entitled to post them as much as anyone else on here.

By the way my thoughts are some investors will want payback on their loans so some cash will go to them.

Also should there be a wee bit spare cash I hope we have the decency to pay some small local businesses what the lost out on due to our bankruptcy.

These are my opinions tho.

BlueBilly the investors loans on the whole were turned into shares! Please do tell us all what investors are owed money? Before our European run the 23 million hole in our accounts were going to be filled just by having gate and hospitality Money back! Then you now add our earnings from getting to the final! Sweep tell us all what we owe considering we can all go look at the accounts?

Cheers Barrow mate.

My understanding was we had investors who gave interest free loans, but do agree that some also took shares as their investment.

Until the financial statement is released by the club, neither Sweep myself or any other poster on here will be able to state the clubs present financial situation.

Had a look at the finance page on here, nothing much to report as yet tho.

Lets get out and enjoy this brilliant sunshine while it last guys.

Cheers all.

See ya later.

Barrowlad were in my post did I say Rangers owe anything. Your that quick at jumping on anything I say that you don't even read what I say. If we want 20 million to spend players will need to be sold, if not than the fans are going be disappointed in Gios spending budget.

8.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 11:44:26
Unless rangers are lying all investors loans were converted to shares.

9.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 11:58:41
I don't think Rangers made a profit in the 10 years since we got put into the 4th division. Do you seriously think because the club will probably show a profit that its investors is just going throw it all away in one transfer window?

10.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 12:40:42
Sweep As you mentioned many times on here your exact thoughts on rangers finances is that you believe we're on financial difficulties! Or am I wrong?

11.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 12:44:50
And sweep throw it all away? Who said anything about reinvesting all of it in the transfer market? I suspect around 20 million will be made available depending on loans and bowman's available.

05 jun 2022 12:54:49
i personally don’t have any problem whatsoever with players being sold to generate funds for growth

i’m absolutely over the moon with the plan, and i’m absolutely confident we will see a couple of exciting players coming in.

That should say bosmans lol.

Barrowlad if Rangers never went on a Europa league run I think we would've been in a desperate stage in regards to our finances. Thankfully we did but selling players will decide our transfer budget imo.

05 Jun 2022 13:06:02
I agree Tom I think Aribo will be sold? Also Bassey if someone does offer around the 20 million mark! Although I hope Bassey stays myself!

I totally agree TT12 ?.

17.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 13:09:18
That has to be our business plan selling our top players for big profit when the time is correct ?Player trading is a big part of our business model going forward and i would like to think most if not everyone will know this?.

18.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 13:56:27
The club over the last 2 seasons needs revenue of approximately £70 million each season to break even.
The importance of a good European run can’t be underestimated as Sweep says.
But the business model going forward is to sell on young talent as TT has int8mated.
Patterson was the first.
Bassey may be the next.
We therefore won’t blow every penny we make from transfer and Europe.
1/ because we might not go on another good European run
2/ we might not sell a talent every season.

Hi John25.

I would never suggest Rangers are lying, but I am still unsure if all the loans were converted to shares as I have never seen a statement from them confirming this. Hope your right tho mate.

Does that include previous loans to 2021 tho.

Rangers have posted a loss of over £24 million in their latest annual accounts, with their revenue slumping by 19 per cent amid the impact of the C.V. C.V.. The Scottish champions were sustained by £21 million of loans from shareholders and investors through the period to June 30, 2021.

Cheers just the same.

20.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 13:58:33
Again sweep, the league allowing fans back in last season covered our losses! What part of that are you struggling with? It's in the accounts! Yes having a European run to the europa league final has helped our finances! And will allow us to spend more on players! So go on sweep how much will our financially crippled club give to Gio this transfer window?

21.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 14:02:09
John25, I can honestly say that not all investors had their input converted to shares. My previous boss sold his business which made him a very wealthy man. He's had a box at Ibrox for as long as I can remember, I've actually been there as a guest a couple of times. My point is his loan was just that- a loan. Now I'm not sure if he's been reimbursement as he's now retired.

22.) 05 Jun 2022
05 Jun 2022 14:21:02
As you have said to me Barrowlad have you seen the accounts to prove such statements. No chance imo does fans being back inside a stadium cover a 23 million pound Blackhole in the accounts. That's what I'm struggling to understand as I don't think it's the truth.

23.) 05 Jun 2022

I’d be very disappointed if there is not a budget of £25m - £30m available for Gio. That’s doesn’t mean we need to spend it all, there will be quality frees out there and player sales will make up part of that, I’d like to think that would increase it if it’s needed. I see Aribo and Kamara going this summer along with fringe players e. g Simpson, Hastie etc if there is a £25m+ Offer for Bassey we would have to take it unfortunately but we’d need a quality replacement. I have been of the view that we need 5-6 first team players, things need freshened up. Goldson re-signing means that’s one less we need although I think that’s an opportunity missed to upgrade in that position. Morelos and Kent are priority contract extensions I’d like to see sorted early in the summer. We should be looking at attacking alternatives to Wright, Sakala and Roofe. I only say Roofe because of his injuries. This imo means these players can also leave and that could generate more funds. All of this supported by some quality youth who need minutes next season. It’s really tough but if we get the balance right, this could be a squad that dominates domestically for a few years, the foundation is there but we need to improve in some areas and not stand still overall. Gio has a plan A, B and C and needs the quality personnel to adapt to whatever situation we face. I suspect if we make CL then there could be a further addition or two. Having said all of this, we need to ensure our finances are in good shape, the stadium needs investment for example, we need to keep the youth academy growing as conveyor belt that will save us millions in the future. I for one am optimistic and next season could be a belter if we get all of this right. Time will tell.

Cooper legend you will be very dissapointed there's not a hope in hell were spending that. barrow lad we were 17 million down match day rev from CV other 6 million was dave king being paid back.

Paul86,sweep here from our AGM!

The year to 30 June 2021 was undoubtedly and heavily affected by the C.V. C.V..

The associated negative impact on revenue (both matchday and non-matchday) was in excess of £20m, resulting in a reduction in profitability of more than £10m.

When the current Board and investors wrestled back control of our Club in 2015, it saw before it a 10-year recovery project. Today, we consider that prognosis to be accurate.

Painstakingly and with unerring resolve, your Board and executive management team have undertaken the rebuilding process. Sticking to the task has been no mean feat and has been made possible with the support of our loyal investors and fans.

Despite the manifold challenges, our football club has relentlessly strode forward. On the field of play, winning our 55th League title provided a significant milestone in this process and was the crowning achievement of our year.

Off the pitch, notwithstanding a C.V. impacted financial performance, we believe that demonstrable progress is evident from our results and activity subsequent to the reporting date of 30th June which should also be considered to fully appreciate our advancement.

In summary, clear and decisive steps have been taken to simplify, strengthen and normalise our financial structure as we drive the business toward a sustainable model.

In this context it is important to note that the commitment and investment of your Board and its loyal and aligned investors has enabled a significant reduction in the Company’s identified future funding requirement. This figure, which includes the expected cost to complete capital projects, now stands at £7.5m for the coming 21/ 22 season and only £0.4m in the following season.

While still a substantial sum, the remaining requirement demonstrates the very significant progress made given that the funding requirement identified in last year’s accounts was more than £23m over the subsequent two seasons. Pivotal to this reduction has been the commitment of our current group of investors to provide funding to settle the considerable player transfer liabilities built up in the early years of the recovery period.

Your Board remains steadfast and committed to its support in meeting this funding requirement. Much work remains to be done as we close in on improving our business model: a model that must be fit for this football club, sustainably so, to provide solid foundations as we complete our recovery programme and build a path of maintainable growth.

Sweep, if, if, if, we never went on the european final, if is the main word, do you not understand the meaning of that wee eord if, if is irrelevant mate, because it happened. if my auld was a millionaire, if my granny was a millionsiress, it never went that way mate, so do i now say if, no, no, no, my granny used to have an old saying like, if ifs and anns were pots, n pans,

We don’t have a sugar daddy so of course we have to sell to spend. It’s our business model, buy and sell for a profit and reinvest.
Personally I think we will sell Aribo and until the recent and incredible rise of Bassey I believed Kamara would also go, however, Selling Bassey at the 20M as quoted might prevent 1 of Aribo or Kamara going and we have the safeguard of Kamara contract length. Hopefully we can secure Kent and Morelos and I wouldn’t be too disappointed if we manage to get buyers at the right price for Barasic, Roofe and Helander. If those moves materialise then we have to sell Big Shirley to replace with better than what goes out.
