MacGregor has been a wonderful keeper for us over the years and for that I thank him, but now as he is getting on in years it is my opinion that the not committing to cross balls is costing us points in the League, whether this is due to the aches and pains that he has been suffering from and that have been highlighted over the season I don't know. We need a commanding goalie that is comfortable coming for crosses and I said before we lose silly goals to teams that have maybe 1 or 2 chances in a game but get results from balls that are delivered into the box that should be bread and butter for a keeper to collect. my opinion.

Orygbmb, Macgregor never has been much good at coming for high balls and commanding his area, however, my question to all is, how many goals has he cost us by not commanding his area or fumbling high balls against how many goals has he stopped by the saves he has made.
I'm with you regarding his non command of his area.

I agree orgy, been saying for a while, whilst MacGregor is outstanding at shot stopping, 1yite often it is caused by hi inability to come off his line, whether as a sweeper keeper or at corners and crosses. I said during the last transfer window about Seigrist and was laughed at, now he's linked with some of the big teams in England. MacGregor has been a great servant but time for someone new. My opinion.

Surely Folks, the main issue here is that a Goal keeper should be able to command his area, comparing saves to goals conceded by not coming for cross balls is irrelevant in my opinion, to play at the highest level you need to have everything in your locker. Allan has served us well though, but the cracks were showing last season.

Stopping shots is what he is paid for. He is also paid to control his box and he is weak at crosses and is therefore likely to be called to stop more shots than a keeper who comes for crosses.
