Don't want to annoy anyone by sounding to optimistic but what if the lack of transfers has nothing to do with finances, league or rejection but down to the fact that gio might actually believe in the squad he has with the addition of the b team players from last season. I haven't seen enough of the b team to name the ones with potential. Would anyone be happy to give the standout youth a chance to shine during preseason before signing another barker or squad player. I know there are lots of people on here more informed than I am and could shed some light on whether or not this would be a recipe for disaster.

You're going to have to stop talking all that sensible stuff mate! Totally agree. Or at least we're not buying people for the sake of it! We offered contracts to Doekhi and Bazoer. That shows the level of people they are talking too. Might not get them but we're aiming high on our limited budget. Probably means we will offer a lot of contracts to good players and get a lot of no thanks but we might just get one or two big players to say yes!

I personally think Lowry deserves a chance, he’s already showed glimpses of what he’s capable of. More game time might just turn him into a great player.

Ausbear bang on mate also they will know more than us on contracts offered players contracts running done new ones etc. in terms of signings I’m not really worried as yet no point spending money on a player if we get a big fee for someone and can buy better quality rather than rush in and make a bad signing or one that doesn’t help us.

Ausbear, there may be some merit in this, Lowry, McCann, Devine and King should all be looking at regular minutes in first team football this year.
With a couple of decent loans/ freebies to improve the first team overall and backfill any sales, it could be a sound move.
