The season hasn’t even started and already the pundits are saying Rangers are doomed to second place .

They’ve just won a treble of course they’re going to be favourites. Rangers could win the league but Celtic should win it. Consistency is key this season we have to win 30+/ 34 against the rest of the league and then at least 2/ 4 against them.

I would probably agree the dark side are favourites. Only time will tell. I just feel MB will need this season and next to get this lot of players playing well together. Fingers crossed we hit the ground running and bring home 56?.

Going to be an interesting season.

I think we're rightly not the favourites at the moment, we have to accept that given we've done a massive rebuild, have an untested manager and have been second best for quite some time.

I know a lot of our fans think we've been "closer", but the bras tax is that Celtic have won 11 of the last 12 league titles (to our 1), 6 of the 7 since we got back to the SPL. 4 trebles from 6 and I can't even remember how many trophies overall to our 1 Scottish Cup.

We're going in the right direction, hopefully, but I won't be getting carried away given the size of the task at hand, despite many of our fans being quite flippant about how close or otherwise we are.

Second favourites to start the season is right I think. It's up to us to prove that wrong.

I think we have signed good players it’s getting the right combinations of players in the 11 in the best system that suits that may take time to find, time we don’t necessarily have with first OF and qualifiers coming fast. I feel we have upgraded with our signings though and will come good. Defence possibly an issue but if we manage to pair goldson and souttar there should be an uplift in defensive performance until any possible incomings strengthen.

No way is Beale getting 2 seasons to get it right, if any of players signed live up to hype some seem to getting, they won't be here in 2 season's.

Don’t know how anyone could have expected us to rise from the lower leagues and start winning everything straight away again .
To me that’s total fantasy cookoo land.
We had a lot of admin to take care of . Fighting Ashley was a major battle for our club . Let’s not forget that . He was wanting to take our ground and lease it back to us .
We have done very well In my opinion and still on the rise .

Beale won't get 2 seasons! After being backed, and bringing in virtually his own team, there's no way he'll be afforded 2 seasons to get this right.

Mols, please stop using the lower leagues, Ashley, admin excuses as they are embarrassing. The day we won 55 those excuses became redundant! C'mon, using the same excuses after all these years is tragic!

He will be judged from now until December. If by all accounts he is performing to expectations then maybe he will extend his grace period. He has spent a lot of money in comparison to what we can afford. If by the January transfer window he has to ask for more as HIS team isn’t right then there will be a serious issue that needs addressed.

I think a lot of people forget that us winning 55 had as much to do with Celtic imploding as us having a wonderful season (in front of no fans) . Saying it makes everything that came before it redundant is silly in my view.

I want us to win the league and I hope we can gel quickly enough to put up a good fight to do so, but if we have a good season and we can see the team moving forward I'm not in favour of discarding managers. I'm old, so I remember the 90's when they were doing that trying to catch us and had more managers in a decade than we'd had in our history.

If it goes horribly and we're going backwards, we can have that discussion, but if it's a close run title and we get pipped by good team having put up a good fight then sometimes that's just how it goes in Glasgow.

Totally agree mild there has been so much work needing done at training ground in stadium Edmonton house admin scouting dept youth dept 1st team etc we’ve had to rebuild a few times since coming back up we got it wrong a few times and now mb has just had to do a whole rebuild again. I think without a shadow of doubt as long as we’re competing with Celtic and give them a fight even if we lose the league in the end up it will be the manner it happens which decides mb fate for following season.
Say we win a cup lose the league by 4 points and get to Europa last 16 or 8 that’s a good season for Beale after all the turnover.
Asking as we play decent football and we can see the progress which is most important then why wouldn’t he be aloud another season.
Do people want to just bring in another managers to rip it up and start again, again? Jesus wept man!
