So it was Simon Jordan (Crystal Palace Chairman) that put some money up for us to sign Kent.
He is a shareholder though so no wrong doing as such.

1.) 03 Sep 2019 12:31:09
87 where you getting the info from.

2.) 03 Sep 2019 15:14:33
We are set to boost coffers with additional £10m due to qualification for Europa League.
We have agreed down payment of £2m and £4.5m to be paid in next 3 windows with £1m performance related bonuses due.
No Simon Jordan loan just an affordable well structured deal that I advised might happen on here ages ago.

3.) 03 Sep 2019 15:57:42
loans aren't a great way run the club. Do you not remember last season, the clubs financial results were published and we'd made a little money. A few days later we get a loan from close brothers.

4.) 03 Sep 2019 18:40:14
Close brothers is not a loan it's an overdraft facility. The yearly figures are not out so anyone stating that we have chosen to use this facility must have inside knowledge.

5.) 03 Sep 2019 19:21:02
it was half yearly results. Your right it is an overdraft facility not a loan. and the club have said the overdraft would be used for various projects.

6.) 03 Sep 2019 20:21:33
He is not the chairman of Crystal Palace he used to be but not now.

7.) 03 Sep 2019 20:31:53
gannet is he funding us.

8.) 03 Sep 2019 20:32:44

please explain how close brother have given you an overdraft, because it looks like it is secured against equity and you pay interest on it.

looks like a loan, sounds like a loan, structured like a loan. but you say it is an overdraft.

if its an overdraft then why is there a deadline to repay it (with interest i might add)?

9.) 03 Sep 2019 23:08:52
Google it can't be bothered explaining its it's a line of credit. I. e an overdraft.

10.) 03 Sep 2019 23:49:31
Kaney not saying you are wrong I don't know if it's a loan or overdraft. But you pay interest on an overdraft every month if you are into it as well. The only real difference is with a loan a lump sum arrives in your bank whereas an overdraft allows you to go into the negative (basically spend the banks money) as and when you please. Being a business account there could also be a set fee for the privilege of having the overdraft which could look like interest payments. I do remember a story a while back about an overdraft and another about a loan both from close brothers so it's possible both are true. It doesn't mean rangers are skint though as the purpose if I remember right was to improve our credit rating with the banks going forward. People do this all the time as do companies. It's prudent to have options if anything unforeseeable were to happen.

11.) 04 Sep 2019 00:07:49
Kaney please explain to us why you a Celtic fan know more about our club than us rangers fans?

12.) 04 Sep 2019 10:52:22
its a secured overdraft facility. not uncommon. non issue really.
as for the ex chairman of Palace paying for Kent. are you sure it wasn't David Murray again.

13.) 04 Sep 2019 13:32:17
Close brothers are used by many businesses. A large percentage of insurance premiums are paid through finance providers like close brothers, it is not a sign of trouble just an intermediary in the process.

14.) 04 Sep 2019 13:54:08
I heard it was Arlene Fraser, with money meant for the DUP, if they backed Brexit, that rubbed the SNP’s nose in it and sold Scotland to Wales as part of the deal to keep Trump in charge of America for the next 20 years as long as Harry gets the throne next. WHO CARES! WHO KNOWS? No one on here, that’s for sure. Especially some moon howling Celtic fan like @kaney who seem to think they know everything financial about The Famous but know absolutely hee haw about their own clubs dealings 🧐
Kent’s here for #55, that’s all we need to know.

15.) 04 Sep 2019 15:33:14
I don’t see what the problem with this is. It’s to provide working capital for the business and literally every business uses it in one way or another through overdraft, invoice factoring or loans.

I work in finance and using this (if used properly) is the correct thing to do.

16.) 04 Sep 2019 15:45:24
Simon jordan slated scottish football for years no chance he's put up money for kent. N it was on ssn that the kent deal was 6.5 million upfront then 1 million in addons so i dunno where your getting your info for the structure of the deal.

17.) 04 Sep 2019 17:39:04
Simon jordan. Heard it all now.

18.) 04 Sep 2019 22:28:04
@brogie mark allen said the deal was structured 2m upfront and rest pays in several instalments and also thanked Liverpool for helping get the deal done.

19.) 06 Sep 2019 12:42:35
Great to see the Kerrydale Accountancy Firm PLC have infiltrated the page again lol.

02 Aug 2019 18:20:16
Now I don’t claim this to be a source, I was told this earlier today by a woman who works in sports retail. (She’s actually a friends of my mum who was in when I was visiting) . She has no interest in football nor does she support Rangers, however she told me earlier there has already been conversations with several sports retail chains regarding next seasons sales and that Hummel would back Rangers and pay the SD compensation and whatever Mike Ashley is awarded BUT Hummel would be looking for a 10 year kit deal after the SD issue has been sorted, She went on to say the deal would be from next season onwards but only if they can pay off the fat man and he’s no longer involved.

1.) 02 Aug 2019 18:42:03
It had occurred to me that hummel have been very quiet. Wouldn't surprise me at all if hummel were in on this 87👍.

2.) 02 Aug 2019 19:39:54
Interesting post 87shenderson and most certainly has got me thinking.
Assessing everything if it could be worked out, i wouldn't mind at all, if hummel were our kit manufacturers,
for the next 10 years. They've always said they absolutely love being associated with a club our size. This mess most certainly ain't there faults. A ten year kit deal from hummel would be very welcome and good revenue for us, even if they were to pay our sports direct legal fees. With it being 10 year, there would still be millions for us from a deal that size. I think i personally would take that, if it was true. what's all other bears on here,
thoughts on this? Should be a very in depth debate, to see what everyone's thoughts are on this, if it could come to fruition.

3.) 02 Aug 2019 21:00:31
This kit shenanigans is a real bawbreaker but as someone said all business transactions carry risk good or bad, thus risk is then assessed for mitigation should it go ars over tit as it has. Injunction won't allow these mitigation's media time but the board will or should have these actions in place in this case financial. SD business leads will demand recompense and leverage till the contract ends but the situation as before doesn't benefit anyone financially. Hummel as sponsor and paying any fees would work in law with a deal made with SD or its a case of years, sometimes 10 years in court conjecture and counter appeal. I would advise DK lawyers and commercial to eat humble and seriously consider all options - end of!

4.) 02 Aug 2019 21:02:16
I would take it aswell coop. You would think that hummel would have released a statement by now if they were not aware of the possible outcomes regarding sports direct. Surely hummel and rangers knew that this outcome with sports direct was a possibility when they agreed a kit deal. They must have had a contingency plan where they anticipated this would happen. 👍.

5.) 02 Aug 2019 21:53:00
Agree with you coldo i think it’s all part of the plan. The media need something to pounce on as they are bricking it the gers are back. Just find it funny that this has come out at the same time as the Morelos rumour yet no one is up in arms about the constant rubbish that tierney going to Arsenal. The Celtic are worried guys. 55 here we come!

6.) 02 Aug 2019 22:27:44
For me there is no chance Hummel or indeed any legitimate company would enter a contract to supply kits, without doing there own due diligence . Company's like this do not go into deals without there "eyes being wide open " . I am confident that they and the board will address this situation and do what is needed to break away from the SD contract . After all with the fan base and loyalty our club have Hummel just can't lose . we don't forget and after all "if nothing changes, everything stays the same "

7.) 02 Aug 2019 23:25:01
Directors of Elite are all ex Hummel, very interesting 87H.

8.) 03 Aug 2019 00:03:56
Like I said she has no affiliation to Rangers but she knows I’m a big blue nose so that’s how the converse started. Weather it’s true I have no idea but there is no smoke without fire. Like you SGL I would accept that deal, over a long term kit deal Hummel would make million over and above any fees they pay to SD. It would also be fantastic advertising for them showing the world the kind of company they are. Not forgetting they get to be associated with the Famous Glasgow Rangers for the long term.

9.) 03 Aug 2019 00:05:09
Id be happy with that as long as it obviously works out better for us financially. Be good to get ashley away tho.

10.) 03 Aug 2019 00:12:11
What if the fat man is involved with hummer then we're stuck way him for 10 year.

11.) 03 Aug 2019 00:28:20
Coop, think it would be in Hummel best interests to stay schtoom until the fat rat shows his hand. OK court case won, but no monies owed by Rangers has been intimated officially as yet. When this intimated we can move. TBH think Hummel bit gunshy, last time they got involved in Scottish football sponsorship I remember was Hibs 30 years ago (Christ I'm old) and from commercial viewpoint stank. Their with the big boys now and know shirt sales go astronomical but more importantly company profile will in Scotland, go thru roof.

12.) 03 Aug 2019 06:48:43
After all this mess I can't believe people would still advocate us going into 10 year contracts with manufacturers. Dave King wouldn't agree to that so its a non-starter!

13.) 03 Aug 2019 07:38:55
My wee mate works in sports retail, he stocks the shelves with shorts and t shirts and sometimes they ask him to go t Gregg's for the lunches. How is this woman privy to information at boardroom level lol. Sounds a lot of kite.

14.) 03 Aug 2019 08:43:09
If it was alright for chelsea to go into a kit manufacturing deal with nike and man utd likewise with adidas for 10 years, then why would it NOT be alright for rangers to enter a 10 year deal with hummel? I don't see too much wrong with that
C_of_Ibrox. Especially so IF hummel were willing to help us out in our legal fees and fight, with ashley/ SD
It could be structured in a way to make us and hummel as our longterm kit manufacturing partners millions,
over the duration of the contract.

15.) 03 Aug 2019 09:04:21
I don't see a problem with a long term deal. Hummel will know they will sell hundreds of thousands or even millions of shirts over the term. The Rangers fans would never forget how the company worked with the club to thrash out the deal to get rid of the fat rat and faithfully buy their strips year on year. The sheer size and standing of the club would make it a goldmine for Hummel.

16.) 03 Aug 2019 09:23:50
Talks of a 10 year contract with Hummel is surely nothing other than a rumour. A 10 year kit deal? Na. No chance. Neither party would want it. I certainly don't and I have absolutely nothing against Hummel.

17.) 03 Aug 2019 09:29:57
We should have offered SD the same deal as Hummel, yes?
If we had done that we would have had 2 identical deals to consider. If so could we not have still taken Hummel over SD?
I have not seen it written that we had to sell to SD if they matched the deal, so we could have picked Hummel for non business reasons?

18.) 03 Aug 2019 10:24:57
Its not hummel over sports direct mate, hummel are the kit manufacturers. Its elite over sports direct that's caused the problem. The problem lies with retail partners and who should/ could have been selling our kits. Hummel have been unfortunately drawn into this whole mess through no fault of their own.

19.) 03 Aug 2019 10:47:25

As i said she is a friend of my mums, my mum was a shareholder in M&S before she retired and her friend has a similar role within sports retail. I don’t know actual job title I do know she represents the west Scotland in her role.

She is not a shelf stacker that goes to Greggs.

20.) 03 Aug 2019 11:28:53
How no? They do a crackin steak bake.

21.) 03 Aug 2019 16:48:05
As much as this whole situation is an embarrassment and p! sses me right off. I have hoped that when we did the deal with Hummel that we might, I say 'might' have been very open with them and explained in good detail the risks involved, only because it could cost us greatly if we didnt.

If we did then perhaps this has legs. Who knows lads, we really just need to trust and hope this fat b@stard gets kicked to the curb once and for all.

22.) 03 Aug 2019 18:15:30
Easiest reply ever. If it benefits the club to move forward then that’s ok with me. mistakes have been made at board level but at least these mistakes weren’t meant. a genuine error made in the sd pay off contract. let's not forget though for the first time in a long time we have people who genuinely have the clubs best interests at heart. these guys are just fans that done good. same as us! Or is it part of a masterplan lol who knows.

22 Jun 2019 18:07:38
Aribo deal done.

1.) 22 Jun 2019 18:30:59
Brilliant news. Excited at this one and 300k is a no brainer. Only saw him at the play off final but thought he stood out. Good business.

2.) 22 Jun 2019 18:39:29
Agreed mate, looks a fantastic talent. Hopefully the creative spark we need! Medical over the weekend and officially announced start of week.

3.) 22 Jun 2019 18:48:46
Sign of where we are getting to that hes chosen us over other English options. Good news eh?

4.) 22 Jun 2019 19:27:38
nobody seen him or knows of him more than 1 game all of a sudden he's a brilliant or fantastic player nearly 7 players in and to be honest for less than 800k spent yea that will stop them winning 9 in a row for sure was expecting big names we got nobodys.

5.) 22 Jun 2019 19:44:52
Big names don't guarantee nothing big blue bear. For the life of me, why do some of our supporters doubt the players we're signing and having a defeatest attitude before we see these guys in action and the way gerrard will mould them into a team.
Two words to you pal regarding how big names are not always the be all and end all, "GLEN KAMARA".

6.) 22 Jun 2019 19:46:57
To be fair when was the last time we signed a player we all had heard about or knew a lot about if you take out Davis and Defoe.

7.) 22 Jun 2019 20:00:34
Big blue bear, Senderos, Barton, Kranjcar. How did those big names work out? The only big names will be at the end of their career with a high risk of not working out. I think Defoe is an exception bc of his fitness and professionalism. We cant afford big names in their prime so we need to go for younger cheaper players with potential. Like Morelos, Kamara, Katic etc.

8.) 22 Jun 2019 20:00:47

Go have a read about the boy and check the clubs chasing him! The lad is talented and from what I do know about him this is a major coup!

9.) 22 Jun 2019 20:07:59
We have signed Big Name players recently and worked out terrible barton got playernof championship. Look how he done in scotland. We have not a good mix of youth and experience in my eyes.

10.) 22 Jun 2019 20:09:04
Saw him playing in the play off final. Thought he stood out. Playing at a higher level than the SPFL. 300k and water by other clubs. Like I said, no brainer (in my opinion) . We will sign an excellent striker Im sure. Otherwise, we need to offload fringe players and the squad is looking good.

11.) 22 Jun 2019 20:26:59
I am just wondering if doc will get a chance with aribo coming. Both played in same league last season and I might be wrong but did doc not get more goals and assists with a team fighting off relegation. Would like to see him stay and get a chance. Instead of just being shipped out on loan again.

12.) 22 Jun 2019 20:33:08
Big blue bear sort your head out bud think SG and rest know whats happening as I said on an earlier post think well stick squad weve got till near close of window and l think you might get the signings youre looking for .

13.) 22 Jun 2019 21:25:28
Think it shows the signing plan of Rangers at the minute. It's a good idea signing English players cheap as their value goes up better than others in my opinion. Just a thought big blue bear who would you be after as a big name signing? If we play this right and luck goes our way we could end the season with a plus bank account and a valuable squad. How much were Morelos, Tav and kamara signed for and realistically they're now worth 25-35mil total.

14.) 22 Jun 2019 21:47:16
Big Blue Bears had a Mare!

15.) 22 Jun 2019 22:44:33
Totally agree man.

16.) 22 Jun 2019 22:46:53
Big blue bear your negativity not needed.

17.) 22 Jun 2019 22:48:53
Have to agree I thought we would've spend significantly more I know we're not loaded but at least a good few million.

18.) 23 Jun 2019 06:59:16
big blue bear

Its ok to support your team btw! Aye the guy is relatively unknown but he does look a prospect and we are allowed to get excited and make the boy feel welcome!

19.) 23 Jun 2019 09:13:04
We have had big names that have failed and names that are not so well known fail. I couldn't care what the price tag is or what their name is aslong as the produce the goods, that will do for me.

20.) 23 Jun 2019 10:29:08
Yes totally agree Coldo we need players that want to play for the famous.

09 May 2019 17:37:49
32Red announced on Twitter an extension of the shift sponsorship with a video about Rangers.
If you do one thing today go and watch the video! It’s absolutely stunning! Hately, Gough and DJ talking about Rangers and what it mean to them!

Would bring a tear to anyone’s eye! Magnificent!

1.) 09 May 2019 18:32:07
its on you tube also.

2.) 09 May 2019 23:00:42
Aye it’s decent tbf.

3.) 09 May 2019 23:19:29
PR guy must have got paid a mint to copy the idea from Hummel.

4.) 10 May 2019 10:38:13
Just watched it😁👍.

03 Mar 2019 11:13:19
Yet again I’ve been told about Shinnie coming to Rangers, the chap who I was talking to has connections within Ibrox and I was told SG told Shinnie he wanted to sign him as a left wing back as Davis won’t be kept on and Halliday moving back in to CM.

The more I think of it the more sense it makes.

1.) 03 Mar 2019 12:24:34
I think there may be something in this as well shinnie is keeping where he is going very quiet I think he would be a good squad player to have on board but those eyes give me the heebeegeebies 👀.

2.) 03 Mar 2019 15:38:55
Be better go in for wats his name goscrove.

3.) 03 Mar 2019 19:22:10
Halliday isn’t good enough to play in midfield.

4.) 03 Mar 2019 19:24:16
Been told off 2 different people in the know he’s coming to Rangers on a Bosman. He was best CM on the park today and will be a good acquisition. I’m hearing he’s being signed as a CM though although Gerrard likes his flexibility and ability to play LB as back up.
Think he’s better in CM and Halliday is better as a LB.
Waldo cert to leave when contract expires at end of season and I think Halliday is better LB than Barisic if I’m honest,

5.) 04 Mar 2019 02:10:43
He might sign but if he does it'll be for center mid and as cover at left back.

Halliday simply isn't good enough for center mid, and is probably a better left back than Shinnie and based on recent performances, probably more reliable than Barasic too.

Personally hope Barasic comes good but as of right now I'd say Halliday a bit ahead - surprising as it is.

6.) 05 Mar 2019 22:57:02
To be fair this discussion about Barisic coming good at LB and Shinnie being able to cover LB, is nobody actually happy that Halliday has been very steady there when he has played? Right now HE is our LB, we should start giving this guy some credit where it's due. Even when he was sent away on loan, slated by everyone, he has kept his head down worked hard and reaped the rewards. What a great attitude to have which is probably a big part of why SG has laid trust in him and I can't remember him playing badly this season to be fair.

Tell you what, Well done to everyone involved in bringing Mr Wilson to our club as DoF.

What a coup that is. As someone mentioned previously he was the major cog in making Southampton £300m in player sales!

Another piece in the jigsaw getting us back to where we belong!

Welcome aboard Ross

1.) 13 Oct 2019 12:29:10
Welcome aboard and hope he does well. Wait and see those as a lot of their fans aren't that bothered he is away- sixty mill of flops currently loaned out. Interesting to see how he copes with a different level of budget and market. Will cross my fingers for success.

2.) 13 Oct 2019 15:27:38
Snell, no DOF can get every transfer of a player correct, incoming or outgoing mate. Its sour grapes with the southampton fans as far as i can see. Ross Wilson has been on the whole superb for them and the money he's made that club in his tenure with them! He'll be a terrific appointment for us imo. He's very highly regarded by most within the game, with terrific contacts and his entourage of people, who work under him.

04 Oct 2019 14:02:03
Some folk need to bite their lip. Why is SG getting a hard time here?
Tav cost us, end of story and there’s nothing SG can do about his mistakes.

I see folk giving him grief about team selection, if it finished 1-1 would you still be giving him grief? and don’t forget the keepers wonder save in the last minute and the stone wall penalty we were denied. That could have been 3-1 to us, would folk still be giving him a hard time then?

Yes Tav cost us and Yes some player need a kick up the backside big to blame SG for last night it ridiculous.

1.) 04 Oct 2019 14:07:13
If it had finished 1-1 it still would not have taken away the fact that it was a poor performance. Rangers should have beaten Young Boys, they were there for the taking, unfortunately we were every bit as poor as them, and the manager has to accept responsibility for that. Went there too cautious on the back of a good performance against Aberdeen. Should have kept the same side and came out the traps all guns blazing bursting with confidence, instead we couldn't pass the ball to save ourselves.

2.) 04 Oct 2019 15:13:23
I was surprised that we didn’t run the clock down and settle for the draw. We piled our players into there box for free kick at the end instead of putting the ball into the corners and seeing the game out.

3.) 04 Oct 2019 16:48:22
Jaws you are correct we were very naive and should have seen game out.

4.) 04 Oct 2019 16:56:04
I can't agree with anyone who flags up two incidents 20 minutes apart that could have gone our way and says it could have been 3-1 to us. If the penalty had been awarded the morelos chance at the end wouldn't have happened. The game would have gone down a different path.

21 Sep 2019 18:22:44
Change of pace here:

Everyone can join in with this.

What Celtic team did you dread playing and why?

Celtic fans, What Rangers team did you dread playing and why?

1.) 21 Sep 2019 19:15:21
Celtic early on under O’Neill. They were tough and we were on the slide. Their defence and midfield was very strong, apart from Mahe who was a tool. And Henrik who was a great player.

And to be honest, I’m only coming out from behind the sofa now after the last few years’ pumpings. Obvious why so no reason required.

2.) 21 Sep 2019 19:25:59
Any with Larrson in it, he was a truly class player.

3.) 21 Sep 2019 20:29:08
The Lisbon Lions. Some great players in that team and we had some average players at the time.

4.) 21 Sep 2019 22:51:31
Agree Bankie Lisbon lions.

5.) 21 Sep 2019 23:13:58
I was at the 5-1 and 4-1 defeats in 88/ 89.
Walters would terrorise us, especially Morris.

6.) 21 Sep 2019 23:50:03
Personally I hated it against Tommy Burns. If it wasnt for Goram we’d have taken a few beatings.

Second to that would be O’Neil. Sutton, Larson and Hartson were lethal as a front 3.

7.) 22 Sep 2019 01:27:40
Pretty much dreaded itnfrom 2012 right up to gerrards 1st season.

8.) 22 Sep 2019 10:50:11
I was at the 1969 Scottish Cup Final when Celtic won 4-0 and that team on that day was scary. With Lennox, Chalmers and Auld in their team, Celtic could beat anyone on their day. The fact that Rangers reached a European final in 1967 during Celtic's period of domination says much about how good Gers were at that time. Rangers' team of the 1990s was equally good and with a bit more luck, we could have won the European Cup had cheating Marseille not done so!

9.) 22 Sep 2019 12:37:40
I’ll always remember them beating us 6-2 at Parkhead and fernando getting hooked after 20 odd minutes as bobby peta terrorised him. That O’Neil team and the tommy burns team with cadete, van hooijdonk and di canio were alway tough to go up against.

20 Sep 2019 18:06:22
I hear a lot of people saying “Porto are good, Bern look strong, a point would be good”

Guys remember we are unbeaten in 14 European games at Ibrox AND were a bloody good side!
Let these teams worry about us, if i was looking at a team who were unbeaten at home in 14 and just beaten Feyenoord I’d be worried!

McGregor was way out of position directly because Tav made an arse of it.
No way any blame lies with McGregor.

I’m over my dislike for Hibs, mainly because Stubbs has left and the current manager Paul Heckinbottom is actually pretty decent.
Could be a good move for Glen.

As i said she is a friend of my mums, my mum was a shareholder in M&S before she retired and her friend has a similar role within sports retail. I don’t know actual job title I do know she represents the west Scotland in her role.

She is not a shelf stacker that goes to Greggs.

Yea kinda agree mate,

I use the word kinda for one reason. He plays for Aberdeen, a team who most games concede a goal. Busier keepers look better than they actually are but agreed I’d have him at Ibrox if it was for back up.

Mate I literally just heard that!

John : “Rangers always get penalties, “I mean they were stone wallers but they always get them”

SSB: “John it was 5-0 going on god knows what”

John: “I know but they always get penalties, even though they were both penalties”

😂😂 what a trumpet, made me chuckle though.
