Am I the only 1 that doesn't want Patterson back. Great talent but is injury prone. Would rather sign someone similar to mackenzie from Aberdeen that's a strong defender and more importantly not out injured all the time.

I agree and don't really want to bring back players on loan; rather get someone we will keep. I know Cerny and Sima were great but we then have to lose them to find the next one.

We have a lot of fans looking for new signings asap and I can understand that. however think about the cost involved. We aren't back in training until 23rd so if it was possible to sign today we would have to pay their wages.
so we have say 6 OOC players we sign at £15k per week for 2 weeks would cost the club £180K and they would be on holiday. does that sound like sound economic sense for any club? would you rather the extra £200k went towards another salary for a development player?

I get your point Angus but sometimes it's more beneficial for club and players to know exactly what's happening early in window so they can get settled a lot quicker, and as we have European football pretty much right away every little bit helps in terms of squad gelling / settling in quicker.

Hi Stig. Like you I felt the need to take a break a week or so ago and just read in the background. It will do you the world of good but make sure it is just a break. we don't always agree but we have also had some great and enjoyable discussions, which I would miss. Unlike others I never get anything wrong so can't help you with that bit ??. seriously it never is about being right or wrong but having someplace to chat and have an opinion with other fans who only want the best for the club. haste ye back as I'll miss your short posts ?.

The media is all over the place but tbf, so is everyone. Even on here, the guys that get snippets of info ain't signing off the same hymn sheet. EHLs view is the manager has been done for weeks, Johns info is that Ancelotti is still to be interviewed, some other regulars have it nailed on one guy is getting it, others say another 100% getting it. I've never been so confused as to what I believe is happening. It's bad days when Romano says it's just about done and we're still on the fence.

My own personal stance hasn't changed one bit.
2 were shortlisted by the recruitment firm, this was expanded to 3 by KT.
Decision was made quickly and the only delay has been with regards to the back room staff.
New head coach will bring a small core team and the wider support team will be recruited by Rangers with input from the new head coach.
This process has been ongoing and is pretty much concluded.

Hello to the tangerine squad from a few weeks back. you will know who you are and I said i'd be back to ask the question when items were thrown on the pitch by our fans so the Buckfast bottles which were thrown onto the pitch today. Nothing should be thrown on the pitch I seem to remember was the message. so here is your chance or is it just other teams who should be penalised by the SFA for this.

Wsl I agree and you can't be an attacking Fb and then concentrate mainly on the defensive side of things otherwise you are a defensive FB. look at both Liverpool FBs they were good going forward and whilst they could defend they had others to cover for them. the opposite but same is true of the front 3: if you want them to cover back then the forward element of their game suffers. I just want the RB to do what the manager wants him to do; what the crowd want is immaterial. and do you really think managers are going to play a player if his 'legs have gone' because he wouldn't be performing in training. he didn't play Danilo and Cortes last year for not being match fit. even if we didn't have another RB he would be playing a young lad or another placer to cover, Barron played RB when he was younger.

Actually quite funny how perception is. per 90 minutes Robin Propper had better stats in ground duals, aerial duals won, tackles, interceptions. only beaten on blocks and clearances. yet Darling is seen as an upgrade. only time will tell I suppose.

I can see logic in your post Ayrshire. I would like to see the distance run being for a reason. in the match you mention against Hearts the players might have run in excess of 10k but it was that 10 metres which were the important ones. so the runs they make are as important as the distance overall.

Actually players often improve with the right manager in the right team in the right league. as an example Dessers scores few in recent seasons but reaches us and scores 50 in 100; McTominay decent at MU but world beater at Napoli. lots more examples I imagine.

Mark what he does before he gets here shows he has it in him. However I think TJBs figures have a lot of u19 and u21 goals in there. still means he knows the way to goal. just shows that if perhaps we gave players a chance they would perform as they had before. Oh I know they get lots of chances yahdeyahdeyah.

I can't say I ever give any thought to the race or religion of any of our players when I watch the team. never crosses my mind. sad for anyone if it does.
