Looks like he’s come thru well and looks future club captain material. No need now for loan and should be competing with Goldson and Davies for 1st team start.

Can be difficult with younger players but he could thrive here under a better coach in beale, who might give youth players more opportunities, which can be great for confidence, but then loans can work if gurenteed first team football. But only if the team has decent enough coaching staff as well too help these players on and also give time too thease players, n don't have them as bench warmers.

I love this site all we do is run down players, king has played more games than any off our ch but people want to send on loan,
I’d rather have king than say helander 6 games last two seasons, 18k a week. Let’s give him extension, send king on loan, helander May play a game or two per season.

Well list all centre halfs that are scottish. Souttar, porteous, mckenna, Hanley, Cooper, hendry, McIntyre. souttar is the best out of all of them.

At the moment King is better than both Helander and Souttar for the simple reason that he is fit! We would be crazy to give Helander a new contract given his injury history and who is to say that Souttar will be able to stay fit and even return to being the player he was when at Hearts.

Beal wants 1st team starters to improve our squad that make an impact, Shankland is an easy 4th in a list of a fit Morelos, Roofe and Colak. Beale wants to improve the 1st 11 I don't think 4th choice striker an improvement just another squad player, hopefully we will cast our net further than 50 miles. Remember we might be competing at EL or CL level and against an ever improving Celtic, that's the benchmark, not Hearts.

Furthermore on Shankland, I agree he is a competent SPL striker maybe years gone by we could take a chance on him and yes you are right it might work out but with the safety net of a top squad already in place. The way we are right now I don't think we have the luxury of taking chances on such players which is maybe why Beale is determined to bring in proven players from a higher level, that costs money though, so the board need to spend.

Window isn't open yet but our rivals have just signed the j league player of the year for buttons and reportedly after a Korean boy as well. Some fans saying we only need a couple but for me 4-5 just to compete. Celtic have a settled team and are brining in 4 or 5. If we don't get some fresh faces in the door a can see us falling further behind. Get them in early so they can get used to our league. Summer could already be too late.

Gerrard wanted to push us on to the next level after 55, the board put all eggs in the Stopping 10 barrel and that meant we couldn’t give Stevie what he wanted. The plan is financial stability this year then to push on next season. I’m hoping that’s what will happen however it means this year has pretty much been conceded by our board. Celtic are backing their manager fully and they are getting stronger month by month. Hopefully we can fling some doubt in and inject some much needed energy into the squad with a win and 3 points.
