A few good debates with some fellow coaches today about the various rumours circulating about the head coach role.
Based on all the rumours we've heard, this is our assumed summary of where we are.
We interviewed 3 coaches - 2 relatively inexperienced coaches and 1 more experienced coach.
Our preferred candidate has accepted the role will bring a core backroom team.
The only open point is the extended backroom team. Our preference is to recruit these directly in order to build our own internal team - the new head coach isn't adverse to this however has requested oversight of the process to ensure the quality of resource matches their expectations.
No one seems to have any concerns over the takeover, or the appointment of the coach.
This of course could be completely incorrect - but I'm pretty confident it's not.
1.) 23 May 2025 11:45:12
Thank you EHL.
2.) 23 May 2025 11:46:47
Great info EHL hopefully calms a few bears down.
Bright future ahead.
3.) 23 May 2025 11:54:09
Cheers Ehl ??.
4.) 23 May 2025 11:54:25
Very clear and insightful EHL. need to chill guys and let the excitement build instead of any doubts.
5.) 23 May 2025 11:58:22
Cheers for the info mate and maybe some will settle down especially after copland telling us the takeover happens next week.
6.) 23 May 2025 11:58:49
Cheers EHL. So I assume your view that any of the media speculating about who's getting interviewed, or still under consideration is all nonsense as we've already got the new coach signed?
7.) 23 May 2025 12:00:06
I think what's clear that there is a certain amount of misinformation going about that's creating a level of hysteria. I am not suggesting the misinformation is deliberate or even known to be misinformation but I think we need to trust the process. These guys don't seem to be the type to walk away and they are so far in already it would be incredible if they did given the presence they have had at nearly every game this year so far.
8.) 23 May 2025 12:07:12
Is it a possibility the person who you believe has accepted the role is also on gardening leave until a certain date so can't officially sign a contract at the moment
I'm just thinking back to your comments a few months ago when you said the short list was 2 and then became 3 owing to circumstances which was at the same time Rose was let go from leipzig.
Also white horse asked the otherv day mentioned a German and asa has continually believed it to be a German.
If going by johns other post confirming terzic saying no that would make the shortlist of 3 terzic, rose and schmit.
9.) 23 May 2025 12:09:23
Good post and info EHL
Looks like good news all round today makes for a better forum ?.
10.) 23 May 2025 12:10:22
???????.
11.) 23 May 2025 12:14:17
Good luck in your new role, EHL.
12.) 23 May 2025 12:15:49
Great info EHL hopefully calm some nerves on here.
13.) 23 May 2025 12:28:45
Verdant, can't talk about any names, however I understand that a lot of the names that are being referenced as rejecting us were not interviewed - however we're ruled out relatively early in the process.
14.) 23 May 2025 12:44:50
Jasper72
I hope it's him!
15.) 23 May 2025 13:00:43
EHL any idea of timescales?
16.) 23 May 2025 13:18:25
Stevie g still the main man for it.
17.) 23 May 2025 13:24:02
Not me My Star as I am not ITK.
18.) 23 May 2025 13:32:22
Jasper, is DA your preferred option or have you heard something about him getting the job?
19.) 23 May 2025 13:37:32
Thanks ehl i think I was more thinking aloud when I mentioned names and totally understand you can't confirm anything.
20.) 23 May 2025 14:14:50
Ehl great news the candidate has been appointed.
21.) 23 May 2025 14:55:19
Ty ehl great info as per.
22.) 23 May 2025 15:05:50
Copland2 not talking about you mate.
23.) 23 May 2025 15:16:56
John ?.
24.) 23 May 2025 15:24:15
Great info EHL ??????????.
25.) 23 May 2025 15:28:51
Scotty, I'm not in ITK. However, I have been following all the posts over the last couple of weeks very closely and especially of those that do have some inside info. I also follow Italian (Napoli) and Spanish football and the various media outlets from both countries. It's not hard to piece together what 49ers intentions are with regards to appointing the new 'Head Coach'. The flip side is nothing is ever guaranteed, but that's where I placed my bet at 6/ 1. ????????.
26.) 23 May 2025 15:40:30
That was my thoughts Verdant, Rose may still well be employed within the Group so that could be the delay and could be a way to work around wages instead of pay offs if he takes another Job within the Teams they are involved with is just a thought.
27.) 23 May 2025 15:41:47
Dont like being a party pooper but i get the queezy feeling there is a serious amount of guesswork on this site in the last few weeks, don't get me wrong here i am not judging anybody on here as i am not privy to any information from any sources, and on the manager subject can anyone enlighten me as to why the daily rebel is pumping out russel martins name incessintly every day.
28.) 23 May 2025 15:46:46
Cheers EHL, I popped on the other day seemed like someone had chucked a grenade and everyone was panicking ? I read a few messages then thought naa I canny be dealing with this lol.
Given the the time we've had over the last 10 years or so I don't blame people for panicking tbh, I firmly believe the big wheel keeps on turning and we're on our way to the top again and hopefully lasts a good while, I'd love the team to be successful again especially for all the young team who haven't experienced a successful dominating Rangers.
29.) 23 May 2025 16:09:21
If he has been appointed then why haven't we all been told? As it was meant to have been done a week or two ago? Or has it just beed accepted this week?
30.) 23 May 2025 17:00:11
Strom, it will make sense when it's announced.
31.) 23 May 2025 17:16:10
Could still be in a job right now Storm.
32.) 23 May 2025 17:33:49
Ehl I have to ask, if you have heard a name does he excite you? I get the fact you can't actually name who it is but is going to be a good appointment?
33.) 23 May 2025 17:34:34
EHL, you're probably tired of this question bud but any clues on a timeframe? I don't have a source but I'm hopeful for next week, hoping that you share my optimism?
34.) 23 May 2025 18:01:12
I hope he is still in a job Mystar as it means it won't be Stevie g.
35.) 23 May 2025 18:17:38
Or he's helping his dad ?.
36.) 23 May 2025 18:26:13
Real Madrid's last game tomorrow! announcement a day or 2 after that ?.
37.) 23 May 2025 18:32:18
Putting 2+2 together with EHLs post and getting Ancelotti from that.
'it will make sense when it's announced'
Last game with Real Madrid tomorrow. Put a goodbye post on his Instagram, 'start of a new phase' is a quote from his post. I reckon this takes off Sunday/ Monday with an announcement midweek next week.
38.) 23 May 2025 18:43:21
No problem Mystar. ?.
39.) 23 May 2025 18:47:07
Coplandfront5 mate i should have said that Copland2.
40.) 23 May 2025 22:38:37
It's David Martindale ?.
41.) 24 May 2025 06:43:30
My understanding is the takeover will be announced in the next week or so, possibly by the end of next week, a new manager will not be announced until a week or 2 AFTER the takeover is in place and the 2 names who have consistently been mentioned in the MSM are not likely to be the manager, one hasn't been spoken to and the other has but that's all it has been, talks. Despite the rumours of the takeover stalling I have seen on here it couldn't be further from the truth. A couple of people have been removed from a host of managers who have been spoken to for varying reasons, this includes RB and RM, trust the process guys, it's happening but be patient, something a lot of us lack.
42.) 24 May 2025 11:12:43
CF5 who was adamant it was Gerrard? Rather no take anything he says serious now. He must have had a personality transplant during his sabbatical. I told you all it was Ancelotti, only a few cared to listen ??♂️.
21 May 2025 12:35:58
Seeing a lot of people getting frustrated at the club for the perceived delays in appointing our new head coach.
A lot of this frustration seems to originate from the puff pieces that are filling the media constantly - however this is because the club are purely focused on delivery a scale of change that we won't have seen before, which goes well beyond just the head coach.
What I will say, is there is zero panic on the inside.
The pace and control that we are operating at is both frightening and reassuring.
There will be a number of decisions that we as fans do not like, there will be a number of decisions that turn out to be wrong - but I believe we'll get the vast majority right.
1.) 21 May 2025 13:28:43
Season only finished on saturday, more than happy for the club to take enough time to come to the right decision for a new coach.
2.) 21 May 2025 13:31:14
EHL do you think we'll hear anything this week?
3.) 21 May 2025 13:31:46
Well it needs to start at the top with the manager.
If it's not announced by Friday it's a cock up and fans will start getting frustrated.
I think there will be an announcement.
There's a surprise coming one way or another that has not been discussed. Not necessarily manager possibly player or coach, who knows.
4.) 21 May 2025 13:37:51
EHL I am not frustrated with the club mate. Quite the opposite. Just fed up hearing my mate said/ Ave got info troops and also from the worried bhoys on the other side coming on.
5.) 21 May 2025 13:38:29
Why Friday?
6.) 21 May 2025 14:04:59
Lol, same WhiteHorse.
7.) 21 May 2025 14:13:24
EHL, I'm glad to hear things are progressing well and like you I'm not to concerned about the perceived lack of urgency in getting a head coach in place. If the lads heading the consortium had any concerns no doubt it would've been addressed before now. I'm more interested on what other changes will take place to improve the club and the team. How do you see things going forward? Do you think any player targets you might have heard mentioned will strengthen the squad? Any likely to be first team players? No names, just your thoughts.
8.) 21 May 2025 14:18:55
Another weekend EHL will be torture!
9.) 21 May 2025 14:37:52
The manager could be announced as the same day as the players return from holiday for all I care. I've fully bought into the 49ers and co and trust that they will make more good than bad decisions. I pay no notice to the attention seekers on social medias getting "mad"
10.) 21 May 2025 14:40:22
Thanks ehl. Appreciate you can't say much but can I ask if your post last week alluding to the conversation you had with what you described as straight from the horses mouth is still the same in your eyes. In that the club offered the job to a specific individual and it was accepted within the 48hrs and it was just formals to sort. Do to still belive that to be the case or has the landscaped changed so to speak.
11.) 21 May 2025 14:46:58
How is a cock up if it's not announced by Friday? They will announce it when it's done whether it be tomorrow Friday or next week.
12.) 21 May 2025 14:51:28
EHL "There will be a number of decisions that we as fans do not like"
Fills me with fear Tav will still be captain next year! ??.
13.) 21 May 2025 14:53:10
Bringing change at a frightening pace. oh it's exciting times. Thanks Ehl.
14.) 21 May 2025 15:04:43
Not really hearing a lot on transfers other than there is a lot of work do e and everyone seems to be really happy about it.
15.) 21 May 2025 15:38:06
Verdant, I am and have been 100% convinced for a number of weeks now that the decision has been and the deal is done.
There are obviously a lot of moving parts in terms of the takeover and various restructuring across the club, so there is a lot happening.
16.) 21 May 2025 16:07:12
Thanks ehl.
21 May 2025 08:02:47
Private jets? Car registration plates? Cameron House Vs Marr Hall? Travelling barbers?
What drama do we have in-store in today's episode?
1.) 21 May 2025 08:22:58
Silly season.
A lot of the rumours from first time posters strangely now picking their time for info.
Looking forward to getting manager announced, and start talking about players again.
At this stage I have lost interest and don't care who it is now ?.
2.) 21 May 2025 08:23:04
Day 92 in the Big Hoose. Stevie G has just gone into Asda for a bar of Fry's chocolate cream ? you do need to do it in the VoiceOver in your head.
3.) 21 May 2025 08:29:41
???
It's not good for my high blood pressure.
Time to set up an 'OP' at the front gates of the training centre. ?.
4.) 21 May 2025 08:31:33
EHL I'm sure Netflix will be interested in making a Series all about it.
5.) 21 May 2025 08:33:31
It's like a Monty Python sketch ???.
6.) 21 May 2025 08:37:46
Looking forward to today's rumors, they get better by the day.
7.) 21 May 2025 09:23:26

8.) 21 May 2025 09:26:57

9.) 21 May 2025 09:57:32
Lucy Pinder has a modelling shoot in Glasgow today, Russell Martin inbound.
10.) 21 May 2025 10:02:07
Ger88 - don't be daft, pop in mate we're offering free haircuts today.
11.) 21 May 2025 10:14:53
My dog walker told me this morning he has has contact from an unnamed female in dubai asking if he has capacity to walk a couple more dogs from 27th may onwards ??
It's obviously happening.
12.) 21 May 2025 10:28:48
It's not McInnes so anyone will be better than the sunbed hoofball chancer . And he may persuade that big lump Shankland to stay with the torn faces, it's a win win .
When he's available again at xmas we will be fine and settled.
13.) 21 May 2025 10:31:54
If Angela gets beat the night he's available by friday.
14.) 21 May 2025 10:48:22
Ehl that's brilliant, can kill two birds with one stone, needing a trim, that's how I've had to get glasses, walked into Specsavers the other day and asked for a short back and sides.
15.) 21 May 2025 11:04:10
I believe u like the sausage Gers88????.
16.) 21 May 2025 11:52:56
Hawl you, you'll be wearing yer tattie scone and egg anymore of that nonsense ?.
17.) 21 May 2025 12:24:40
Lol just pulling your puddin ???.
15 May 2025 21:37:28
Seeing lots of great chat about the head coach role and process, a lot conflicting with what I've heard throughout.
Heard tonight from as good as the horses mouth that from the outset we had a shortlist of two, that was expanded to three to include a more experienced coach.
Following the first meetings there was a stand out candidate and they accepted the role pretty much there and then and agreed terms within 48 hours.
The club were close to announcing it over the weekend as they were concerned over it breaking, however as there are still a few formalities to finalise they opted to remain quiet.
All good things come to those who wait.
1.) 15 May 2025 22:08:09
Great information EHL thank you.
2.) 15 May 2025 22:17:27
Any nationality you can tell us EHL? ? ?? or ???.
3.) 15 May 2025 22:18:53
A reassuring post EHL. ?
Tick-Tock.
4.) 15 May 2025 22:19:06
The plot thickens again?.
5.) 15 May 2025 22:19:13
Interesting post EHL. If the club was concerned about it breaking but are still keeping it under wraps, this might suggest that the press is still in the dark and that they're naming of Ancelotti, for example, is wide of the mark.
6.) 15 May 2025 22:19:39
Terzic rose and ancellotti perhaps.
7.) 15 May 2025 22:22:25
EHL ??
When will we all be put out our misery ?.
8.) 15 May 2025 22:24:23
Assuming that's why the reports in Spain and Italy came out then EHL. Just a matter of time until Ancelotti is confirmed by the club. Sooner the better and it puts end to all the speculation and allows us all to look forward to an exciting period for the club. Been a long time coming.
9.) 15 May 2025 22:26:14
EHL what a difference it makes having a level headed poster like yourself on here chilled never rises to noise and always polite and professiona mate
Just a genuine nice guy if anything take that away with you bud
Have appreciated everything You have given us over the course you have been on here ?.
10.) 15 May 2025 22:30:17
Good stuff EHL let's hope whoever coach is he is outstanding.
11.) 15 May 2025 22:42:32
EHL, top info as always bud
Would you imagine we're talking a Monday-Wednesday next week for the new head coach if you had to hazard a guess? Seen someone on here prior saying that so wanted to know if you shared that sentiment!
12.) 15 May 2025 22:51:11
Ehl is it the same guy as you told me last night? ?.
13.) 15 May 2025 23:02:22
Stevie g.
14.) 15 May 2025 23:17:25
Excellent post and insight EHL. Won't be long now. Let the fun begin.
15.) 15 May 2025 23:28:02
??????Forza Azzurri??????.
16.) 15 May 2025 23:36:07
Ancelloti will be 1/ 10 by Sunday so if you want to make a quick £1.50 bet now though you can still get hoofball McInnes at 100/ 1 if you are game.
17.) 16 May 2025 05:14:41
Euthanasia Stig, fgs it's only a cracked rib, bit drastic mate???.
18.) 16 May 2025 07:46:00
Fork are you in the wrong thread again?
19.) 16 May 2025 08:52:28
⬆️⬆️ up there Stig talking about getting put out our misery Angus?.
25 Apr 2025 20:57:29
BF putting to bed any rumours of him being number 2 to SG in today's presser.
1.) 25 Apr 2025 22:23:01
EHL, I didn't see the whole thing, but he said he wouldn't manage anywhere if he didn't get the Rangers job. by being assistant or coach he isn't managing. the finest of hairs to split I know, but could be still be part of the coaching team and not break that vow?
2.) 25 Apr 2025 22:27:28
EHL, baz couldn't be no.2 to steven gerrard anyway as allegedly gerrard has no chance of being our next permanent Rangers manager ? That's wide of the mark for me because none of us knows who our new manager is going to be ?.
3.) 25 Apr 2025 22:47:45
I saw his interview he said he would improve our team if he was given the job well he hasn't improved any team he was given the job at or am I wrong.
4.) 25 Apr 2025 22:48:45
Why do you constantly say rose is going to be the next manager then coops if you don't know? ? embarrassing.
5.) 25 Apr 2025 22:57:50
Angus, my take from it was if he's not managing Rangers, he doesn't want to manage and if he's not managing he's happy with his ambassador role.
6.) 26 Apr 2025 07:40:17
EHL I take that from it as well and having read it again it does sound like if he isn't number 1 he won't want to manage and happy to go back to the role. perhaps I am trying to be too clever in my interpretation (I know) and saying by being a number 2 or coach he isn't technically the manager here.
7.) 26 Apr 2025 08:22:02
Is exactly what he said EHL.
AND, I still think we are in for a surprise re Manager/ Coach, I'm sure the lucky person hasn't been mentioned yet ( although there have been a few ??)
8.) 26 Apr 2025 08:54:44
Angus, yeah - one thing with BF is he says what he's thinking, so there's not often a requirement to read between the lines.
But I get what you're saying.
9.) 26 Apr 2025 09:02:17
I think its funny how new guy coming in thelwell made a book coaching the 352 and Ferguson goes with playing 3 at the back i don't think any decision will be made until after season finished or maybe if Barry loses more games.
10.) 26 Apr 2025 09:02:58
Quite simply storm, because imo i think Marco Rose will be our next manager, not hard to understand eh. ?
What's embarrassing about i think Marco Rose will be our manager? ? honestly you crack me up ?.
11.) 26 Apr 2025 09:03:32
EHL - you are correct mate, if he doesn't get the Rangers job then he'll be happy to go back to his ambassador role.

Team starting to take shape for next season-
GK Ramsdale
LB Toffolo
CB Tanganga
CB Coady
RB Walker-Peters
CM Downes
CM Metinho
CM Erikson
LW Son
ST Vardy
RW Ramazani.
1.) 11 Jun 2025 19:02:57
No Davie's or dowell?
2.) 11 Jun 2025 19:07:33
Whole new starting 11. Well that's not gona happen.
3.) 11 Jun 2025 19:12:38
Behave EHL, as if Vardy starts over CD9! lol.
4.) 11 Jun 2025 19:14:02
HAHAHAHA!
You forgot Robin Van persie.
5.) 11 Jun 2025 19:17:54
Still missing modric.
6.) 11 Jun 2025 19:18:46
No Aribo / Morelos / Modric? ….
7.) 11 Jun 2025 19:19:57
Aaah EHL if only Carlsberg did Rangers teams. ?.
8.) 11 Jun 2025 19:21:03
One can dream.
9.) 11 Jun 2025 19:21:10
???.
10.) 11 Jun 2025 20:00:33
Rossister will fit in there nicely in 7-10 days.
11.) 11 Jun 2025 20:02:18
EHL the sarcasm wets many peoples drawers but if we have even one of those I reckon even you as an "ITK" would be surprised … at least Vardy would score for fun even at 38 … do fans not realise, for all those teams that get better of us it's getting better or said player? They prove it season over season.
12.) 11 Jun 2025 20:04:14
Brilliant EHL. seeing it all in one place shows how ridiculaous it looks and sounds.
I said hear they were all willing to take a wage cut to £15k per week as we are Rangers. also clubs willing to take their equal share of the £8M transfer pot we have. Not sure where Cortes plays though as we spent the other £4M on him.
13.) 11 Jun 2025 20:35:20
Haha brilliant
Some starting 11 love it ?.
14.) 11 Jun 2025 21:07:08
I was buying into that EHL until i seen no TAV.
11 Jun 2025 07:51:22
Current numbers for the 1st team squad returning to training -
GK x 3
Lb x 3
CB x 5
RB x 3
CM x 9
LW x 2
St x 3
RW x 1
Sitting at 29, including 5 pathway players.
Of the 24, the majority want to see as many as 14 moved on - going to a mammoth task.
1.) 11 Jun 2025 07:59:09
Who are the 3 RB? 9 Cm?
2.) 11 Jun 2025 08:13:05
EHL, as you say, a huge task but it has to be done correctly. As you know I'm friends with DR the head groundsman. He doesn't say to much but I'll post on here if he sees any new players etc.
3.) 11 Jun 2025 08:17:28
Cheers EHL. it is a roundabout though where we don't win anything, we want rid of the players we don't think are good and/ or are paid too much and then we moan when what we get for them after all expenses is far too low.
if we don't win then I can imagine it would be a different 14 next year. ?
14 is a large turnaround but I think Martin had around 17 or 18 leave at a couple of his last 2 clubs so is used to complete restarts. granted getting rid is the most difficult part here I think.
4.) 11 Jun 2025 08:25:55
You know what they say EHL, if a jobs worth doing, its worth doing it well.
5.) 11 Jun 2025 08:34:01
Rusty, Tavernier, Sterling, Hutton.
9 cm's Raskin, Diomande, Barron, Cameron, Dowell, Nsio, Rice, Bajrami, Curtis am thinking.
6.) 11 Jun 2025 08:40:19
Rusty
RB, Tav, Sterling and Hutton (Pathway) .
CM, Barron, Raskin, Bajrami, Diomande, Cameron, Dowell, Rice (Pathway), Nsio (Pathway) and Curtis (Pathway) .
CM doesn't include Cifu who isn't expected to return for preseason.
7.) 11 Jun 2025 08:40:58
Nsio mcallion rice bajrami Barron raskin Dio cufientes Cameron Dowell that's 10 lol.
8.) 11 Jun 2025 08:51:46
Cheers. heres hoping dowell bajrami and cifu can be moved on quick. Still think 1 of dio or raskin will go also.
9.) 11 Jun 2025 09:32:48
I'm hoping to see the right actions backed up by our new sporting director
We need a big clear out, that's going to include some big calls on players absolutely draining the club down on their massive contracts
The biggest legacy Beale left was so many players in their late 20s early 30s on massive wages.
10.) 11 Jun 2025 09:43:59
Surely pathway can't be classed as 1st team.
11.) 11 Jun 2025 10:20:34
Storm 1st team squad so they train and learn from being in and around the squad by training with them.
12.) 11 Jun 2025 10:31:54
Main squad of around 25 players with youth/ pathway ontop of that so inc Cifuentes 30 players at present.
The 14 i would like to see moved on are Butland, Tav, Propper, Frazer, Davies, King, Danilo, Yilmaz, Cifuentes, Dowell, Matondo, McCausland, Dessers and Bajrami.
Should be able to generate around £25M minimum from that lot that would leave us needing the following.
GK x 1
RB x 2 ( need additional cover due to sterling injury)
CB x 3
LB x 1
CM x 2 (more if sell a Dio or Raskin)
RW x 2
LW x 1
ST x 2
That would be 14 players required not inc Cameron to better balance the squad and keep squad of 25 with 5 pathway/ youth.
Add a percentage of the possible 25M from sales say 60% ontop of existing budget for players reported at around 20M that's £35M to build a squad without the sale of a Raskin, Dio or Igamane.
Some OOC players and Loans etc topped with 4 or 5 quality signings for fees and it is possible.
If only it has that easy ?. Would love a challenge like this on Champ manager.
13.) 11 Jun 2025 10:52:16
Strom, we don't have a b team anymore.
Also, these guys have made the step up to the first team - so will be considered first team players.
09 Jun 2025 09:18:08
Would anyone take Ange as Scotland manager?
Don't think it's realistic, but was mentioned on a phone in and has caused a bit of debate this morning.
1.) 09 Jun 2025 09:31:54
Don't think there's many if any Scotland players that could play his style/ tempo. He'll get a decent job.
2.) 09 Jun 2025 09:31:58
I would take berti vogts back over clarke mate.
3.) 09 Jun 2025 09:32:01
Yes definitely be an upgrade on SC imo.
4.) 09 Jun 2025 09:37:56
One thing is for sure. He wouldn't be trying to cram in as many LBs and CMs as he possibly can.
5.) 09 Jun 2025 09:40:22
Absolutely, he's a fantastic manager and seems a cracking guy too.
6.) 09 Jun 2025 09:40:58
100% yes, I think he would be great in the job.
7.) 09 Jun 2025 09:50:44
If Ange has a list of Japanese strikers with Scottish Grannies it's almost a no brainer EHL .
8.) 09 Jun 2025 09:54:50
Would take anyone as long as it was replacing Clarke. Far too negative and not going to take us forward. 100 percent was take postecoglu. He is a good manager regardless of where he has been.
9.) 09 Jun 2025 10:04:57
I actually think ange will stay down south. Maybe not for start of season but possible taking over a team at some point.
10.) 09 Jun 2025 10:06:43
Aw come on guys can we please stop the big Ange love in. It's like an obsession. Can u imagine him with our calamity defence? Absolutely found out at top level. Spurs fans were calling for him from about November and would anyone have batted an eyelid if they'd sacked him after we played them or at any point in months after. Yes injuries but did they improve at all in the league when they were back? Now big outcry because he won a devalued cup against teams not at their level. Think spurs were decent to him letting him see out the season.
11.) 09 Jun 2025 10:21:28
Kaiser you don't like him and others do. just accept it. Ange said that after January window he prioritised the Europa at the expense of the league as he knew it would win a trophy and get them Champions League. so there was a reason for the results not improving and even at the time of the final he still had 2-3 players out injured and some just coming back. Fans always call out for managers head and hopefully as an aside our board learn to ignore what the fans say.
re Ange for Scotland then yes it would be great to have an attacking style of play for a while. if we are going to lose 3-1 then I would rather it was an attractive style. we can't defend anyway so it seems to be the perfect fit.
12.) 09 Jun 2025 11:10:27
Yes I would take Ange. We have some good attacking players but not getting the best out of them and this is where he'd improve us. Hopefully find a striker that can actually score goals. Defensively we are shocking anyway so how could he do worse.
13.) 09 Jun 2025 11:41:39
The only comments I have seen from Spurs fans post sacking is that it was inevitable and that he leaves as a legend. For me, sacking him is the latest in a long line of stupid mistakes made by Levy while 'running' Tottenham. He's the one who should be moved on! Anyway, I digress - Big Ange for Scotland
As a matter of fact, if he'd been sacked a few days earlier, how many of you would have taken him at Rangers?
14.) 09 Jun 2025 12:14:42
Can't get away from fact in last 20 months he has one of the worst records in England not just this season but let's get him for Scotland or even Rangers. Oh well. Mind blown. Angus remember him slaughtering fans for their loser mentality spurs to lose so arsenal wouldn't win league, so how is admitting basically giving up in the league acceptable. Yes spurs should celebrate the day but not something to build the future on.
15.) 09 Jun 2025 13:54:36
Kaiser it was prioritising the EL before the League as they had huge injury lists and had to play a game every 4 days. Fans were talking about the same for us if we made the EL semi so loser mentality or prioritising the one trophy left to win.
He was 5th in his first season and won the EL in his second and guaranteed CL football with the uplift in prize money. surely we would want him to be given at least the start of the season with some new signings to see if it improved back to first season levels. first trophy in 18 years is something to build on. something Mourinho, Conte and Pochettino couldn't manage to do and I suspect they will go back to scrabbling away to get their next trophy win.
16.) 09 Jun 2025 15:48:59
He was 5th because of his start before he was found out in the Chelsea game. After that everyone knew what to do and massive difference. Form after the 10 games would have had them 14-15th. Man U made the massive mistake or rewarding Ten Haag on basis of a cup. Others have removed managers despite wins because could see the obvious failing and didn't believe right man to move forward eg Di Matteo did what Jose couldn't. Also his style contributed largely to injuries he complained about.
17.) 09 Jun 2025 15:57:25
Would take Ange as Scotland manager as it's obvious Clarke has no idea how to use our best players.
08 Jun 2025 15:00:21
Angus, seen your post on CD and the press - it's too far gone now, but thought it a good debate.
CD definitely works hard and closes down - however being effective in the press relies on being able to split space and have a sharp turn of pace - it's effectively setting traps.
Something Danilo is ridiculously good at.
CD is slow over a short distance, has a turning circle comparable with the titanic and hates being in space - he feel far more comfortable being next to a CB than he does being ten yards off them.
It just doesn't suit his game.
1.) 08 Jun 2025 15:15:07
Nigeria goal is a good example of his CH proximity.
2.) 08 Jun 2025 15:30:36
I was actually thinking Dani would be a good fit in a RM team myself. Problem with him, like too many others in our squad, is that his availability is terrible. Not sure I would risk keeping him on that basis.
Dessers is a good striker but as you say he plays on the shoulder rather than in the spaces off defenders. He will get you goals for sure but I think we would have a better team with him not in it. For that reason and his current value I would move him on this window.
Though if I am honest I am not overly worried about CF position, along with midfield I think that's our current strongest squad area. Full back, centre half and wide players are much more crucial if we are to compete.
3.) 08 Jun 2025 15:35:31
Thanks EHL. I see his willingness to close down across the their back line and regularly chases back. we don't do what Celtic do and hunt in packs in a press or anywhere tbh. I also don't really see anyone else doing that closing quickly enough/ at all so the defenders and midfield of the opposition have time to pick a pass. be interesting to see how it works this season.
4.) 08 Jun 2025 16:07:25
Just reading up on how Martin likes to line up and his philosophy of football
built around relentless possession and press —requiring strikers to be consistently effective in both phases
Martin demands a striker who not only links play and presses but also consistently influences games and executes under pressure
with big Dessers
Pundits are highlighting and mentioning
Inconsistent performances, occasional mental lapses, fan criticism, and questions over big-game impacts
Lacking that killer instinct at times in front of goal needing lots of chances to finally convert
Can score goals but but overall consistency might concern Martin
Clement highlighted he was selfless and unselfish in play.
Read that if Martin and his coaching team can iron out the performance dips and instil unwavering confidence. Otherwise, Dessers might find himself rotational or even surplus?
Whereas Igamane
Younger and still less proven at the moment in our league, but aligns with Martin's desire for intensity and consistency. Likely to get significant chances next term Going by again what pundits are saying.
Turgeman if he came?
Think he had 20 goals and 6 assists last season Energetic and mobile, ideal for a high-press system. Would fit Martin's long-term project better than Dessers, with potential to adapt quickly and grow.
Again this all the stuff I've been reading on line going. With various pundits debating what Martin will want from his Strikers
Just thought I'd share what I've been reading up on today.
5.) 08 Jun 2025 16:11:37
They may be two different competitions but if anyone is interested, have a look at Yamal's stats for Barcelona in Champions League and Dessers stats in Europa League. Goal involvement is similar, Dessers converted a higher percentage of chances, ran further per 90 mins, had a higher top speed and higher average speed. Maybe now is peak time to sell. but for a proper fee. I don't see CF as the main priority unless he is sold. A solid physical centre back, a commanding midfielder with height and presence and players who can create and score from wide areas.
6.) 08 Jun 2025 16:18:39
Stig, are you Russell Martin?
7.) 08 Jun 2025 16:27:42
Haha Wish I was EHL
I'd get them all running through brick walls in no time ?.
8.) 08 Jun 2025 16:36:17
Best Abroad I have to say I love watching Yamal play what a player he is and to think how young he is
He's a phenomenal player
However the stats your giving with big Dessers and Yamal I think i'm now joining the camp of keeping big Dessers unless someone comes in with 40+ mill for him ?
But in reality Yamal has exceptional vision, exceptional passing and dribbling skills creativity and Play making is also exceptional and he's very calm and collected on the ball
All this still only being 17 years of age He's my favourite player just now he's only going to get better and better and better
Can't speak highly enough of him such a joy to watch.
9.) 08 Jun 2025 16:36:57
Good post bear
Stig I'd be delighted if we kicked off season with igamane and Turgeman
Also I still rate rrhamni.
10.) 08 Jun 2025 17:01:25
Look at our stig, he's eat a couple of football manuals for his lunch ? excellent post stig, the only part I don't agree with is igamane being able to lead the line, playing high intensity press, not sure he's that type of striker. Imo danilo is the only one at Rangers just now who could.
11.) 08 Jun 2025 17:25:42
BB4 that made me laugh mate couple of manuals and a few beers to wash them down with ??.
12.) 08 Jun 2025 18:31:35
Igamane doesn't suit that style that you are talking about ehl and stig. He has not showing it in any game where dessers has. Ehl you have a thing against dessers so for me it's biased as you don't rate him.
13.) 08 Jun 2025 18:41:53
All good stig ?.
14.) 09 Jun 2025 03:05:17
And also cd has the technique of a dog trying to control a balloon, albeit he does try bless him.
06 Jun 2025 18:40:50
Well, it's been a hell of a week and feels like a lot is starting to fit in to place.
Seems like it's silly season though on the transfer front already - going to be a very busy preseason.
1.) 06 Jun 2025 19:07:16
Do you think there will be a lot of outgoings before champions league? On top of the ooc players who have already left.
2.) 06 Jun 2025 19:10:17
I am actually very excited to see what comes next. Within a couple of weeks the new owners have put in place a proper structure at the club. With the work done on scouting department in recent years by the old board I think we are in a good place off the field for the first time in a long time.
I am also really happy with our choice of manager. Got a feeling he will surprise a few and prove doubters wrong.
It's going to be a challenge next season with a high player turnover this summer but beyond that I think we will be back to where we all want to be.
3.) 06 Jun 2025 19:14:07
An awful lot of new posters seem to know everything going on at the club, quite amazed after the way the takeover and head coach scenarios played out. Maybe the new regime won't be keeping their cards close to their chests from now on.
Take everything with a pinch of salt on here.
4.) 06 Jun 2025 19:14:34
Hopefully silly season is a good thing and means it's all happening fast and not that all the rumours are rubbish.
5.) 06 Jun 2025 19:20:36
EHL, the people I chat with at Ibrox are given me no info. My phone is on a flat line. Am not complaining as this is the way it should be, but it is frustrating.
6.) 06 Jun 2025 19:30:01
I think the club would love to get some outgoing business concluded early, however the reality is that with a lot of our players they're not going to be clubs priority targets - so we may have to be patient.
7.) 06 Jun 2025 19:39:53
Cuillin don't see any changes on information from our side. Football agents less likely not to try to create extra interest in their client. What are the chances though if all these new posters suddenly getting those calls. I hope you like salt.
8.) 06 Jun 2025 20:02:36
Angus, I don't like salt. I'm calling BS on most of the 'rumours', especially ones giving specific values. Time will tell, we might get £50m for 3 of our players yet.
I will remain highly sceptical, it serves me well.
9.) 06 Jun 2025 20:45:18
White horse, I used to get told about many players we were interested that changed a while ago, heard under a handful in around a year.
10.) 06 Jun 2025 20:49:34
That is what I meant Cuillin. most of the rumours will be so poor and have no base in any sort of fact. so large pinches of salt will be needed.
11.) 06 Jun 2025 22:09:28
It's tight as a drum now,
14 Jun 2025 19:52:08
Player we've tracked for a while - would always have a worry about his hamstring though, especially given our luck on the injury front.
14 Jun 2025 09:14:28
I agree Rostosto and hopefully we continue to see plenty of more rumours - no matter how realistic.
I was just curious if posters were actually believing them, as some seem to think some of the names are realistic.
14 Jun 2025 09:12:44
Very similar situation to NK.
14 Jun 2025 09:12:00
We have been trying for a while to form a network with a couple of the major agencies across Scandinavia - unfortunately though there is already a proven pathway for players through Germany, Belgium and Holland.
So we probably have to wait until our player trading model is more developed.
We can still operate independently, but it makes it much more difficult.
13 Jun 2025 20:57:14
Brilliant Struth!
14 Jun 2025 21:37:26
I really hope we announce Naismith, Turgeman and now Mulligan next week.
14 Jun 2025 16:01:17
Out of curiosity, who have we tried to sign that hasn't happened?
14 Jun 2025 16:00:00
He just didn't suit the system BF was trying to play and there was limited time of the training pitch for him to adapt.
14 Jun 2025 12:41:35
Colonel, not so much the EGM - it more about the accounting period.
14 Jun 2025 11:37:37
Club are actively looking at most markets, Scottish, British, European, African and South American.
Model will more than likely see players 23+ coming from closer to home and those 17+ being identified from wider markets.
Main focus for the recruitment team at the moment is rebalancing the squad.
