When this rumour was doing the rounds before apparently Morelos stated he didn't want to go to Germany and Frankfurt cooled their interest.

Doesn't make any sense whatsoever to take a 38 year old, no matter how good he is, and play him in front of the young promising players.

I fully trust Gerrard to get it right.
However I think they didn't get everything correct in the transfer window. We are desperately needing that player who links the midfield and attack.
I reckon they looked at the games last season and seen how fragile we were at the back, whilst still being the top scorers in the division.
Hence why our midfield usually has 2 holding CM's.
I think personally that although the last few results haven't been that good, we aren't conceding 5 goals like in the Hibs game last season.
Once he gets the balance right, whether that means signing someone in January or the likes of Grezda can fill that role (not seen enough of him yet), I think we will start to see more positive results.

I wouldn't pay 7m for him even if we could afford to.
Personally I think 4m is fair value given its only 1 good season he has had and even then he still has to improve to be worth the values being shouted about.

I don't think we need another CB right at this moment in time, McAuley hasn't even featured for us so why bring in more cover?
I don't think Johnson would improve us all that much either and would probably still want quite a fair pay packet.
Rossi if fully fit and firing on all cylinders would not be interested in coming to us. So why would we take him when he's nowhere near the required standard right now. Didn't he fail a doping test recently as well?

You can look at Tav's performance recently and pick holes in them yes.
However we have scored 43 goals in total this season. Tav has had a goal/ assist for 16 of those.
At the moment we are struggling going forward and I wouldn't ultimately say removing our second biggest contributer to what success we have had so far is the right approach.
He could maybe benefit from having someone else chipping in with the odd corner/ fk to take the burden/ expectation off his shoulders.

Sky sports is absolutely woeful these days. All the best games are on BT Sports it seems.
The majority of games that Sky show are EFL and there seems to be a lot of focus on American Sports i. e. NBA, NFL etc.
Cant believe people still pay for it.
