{Ed001's Note - very good young player, but he is only young and needs experience. The issue is that he is probably too good for the SPFL and any move back there could end up stifling him, rather than helping him. But he does need first team football and he is not going to get much of that at Liverpool right now.
I have no idea if you are likely to loan to buy him nor what fee. It would be a surprise if he was sold though, Robertson is not getting any younger and has been picking up more injuries in recent seasons. Chambers has not impressed in his chances, so Beck is right now looking clear third choice, even though Gomez is covering there well right now it is not his position.}

I heard it just a loan not sure about any buying clause. What I heard was that he thought he would get on against Fulham and didn't so wants to move to get game time. Seemingly Celtic were interested but his representatives have made contact with Rangers regarding a move and he prefers us to them.

I want to start by saying I really like the look of this play but Liverpool have been difficult to deal with in respect of fees I feel we are daft to go for these players if they are still under a long term contract premier league youth are selling at crazy fees right now and I don’t want another Kent or Davies over inflated fee
7million for Kent really was stupid in hindsight and money spent on Davies who didn’t really kick a ball for Liverpool was reckless spending especially for a player they got for nothing.

If we are getting him, its going to be at the end of the window and probably only a loan, shame as if he kicks on and plays the way he was playing at dundee and improves in a better team he would be class for us, really attacking fullback but good in one v one situations to.

We got greedy, aswell as stevie G. It wanting to break up his team, we lost 30m between Alfredo and Kent, and could’ve prob got more for kamara a year prior aswell.
A lot of bad funicular management in terms of knocking back transfers, if indeed the bids did happen.

Performed well in Europe I’ll give you that but in league underwhelming had no instinct for goals as a forward player and couldn’t hit side of a barn door with a shot most of the time
At the time we loaned Kent from Liverpool he just came back from a failed loan and wasn’t doing anything beck is doing well his fee is likely to be high are you comfortable with another 7 million type fee for beck?

That’s your opinion big dado and that’s fine but it is very funnel vision in my opinion. Just because he is 21 means he isn’t good not every player develops when they are younger. Grealish was older when then 18 when he started to do well. Kane bombed at Norwich on loan. I am glad you have nothing to do with signing players at rangers.

I believe that Kent was a good acquisition from Liverpool and he was certainly instrumental in us winning the league. The fact that he cost us £7m and Liverpool built in a good sell on clause tends to indicate the while he might not have been seen as good enough to make the grade Liverpool did see him as a good young player with potential that had come through their Academy.
Davies was a whole different ballgame. He was brought in as cover by Liverpool when they had significant injury problems and at their level was a cheap option. As far as I am aware he never had a competitive game for the first team although I stand to be corrected. For us to pay £4m for him was sheer madness and yet again highlights how poor our Scouting has been under the previous Regime.

It was more against what the Ed said in his opinion that he's too good for scottish football and if that was the case he wouldn't have been sent here to dundee simple as that. It The chances of him making it at liverpool are slim at best. And for the record i think that's the type of signings we should make rather than spend 4m on a tiny left back from turkey.

That display is the worst for a long time the players had no desire to close down and track back. None had a good game with exception of Butland. Need to win all our games and can't see that happening.

I think Shankland is a goal scorer and would score goals for Rangers - i remember him at Ayr. However i think we need someone who can score goals and has pace as that's what we are lacking. And for that reason i don't think we will be signing him. I am sure the manager has already got someone ready to sign probably on a loan to buy.

Hard to switch to high press football half way through a season especially, when for the second summer running, we have not done a pre season which has got the players fit enough to do so. Giving Muscat the job just because he MIGHT be able to identify players from the J league doesn`t make sense . I saw an article pointing out that Celtic had 3 out of 9 signings from that market doing well. Would we accept that type of success rate?

Think you both kinda right evidence so far has shown us to be poor at the forward press but doesn't mean a different manager wouldn't be able to do it with same players.
Think we need to get back to players having defined position that they can get used to and learn how players around them play and make runs rather than chopping and changing Thier positions all the time.

With all the names being mentioned the only one that really units the fans is knutsen. He was my chose before Beale. Lampard might do a good job but lacks experience of Europe. let's try and get knutsen after his league has finished in December that will give him tine to sell and buy players in January. Think he could bring in some good players from Scandinavia and he has a decent record in Europe.

With all the names being mentioned i think knutsen is clearly the best candidate. He has win titles and develops young players also he plays a high press attacking football. It would be worth waiting till December that way he would have the January window to identify players and hopefully get a few from Scandinavian.

When he was at Ayr, I heard he had a trial at Rangers and was not up to standard, - John might be able to confirm this, I think 3m is a good price with no swap deal.
