McKay was our number 10 and we made a c**t of it by selling him for buttons.

A no.10 doesn't need to be a good tackler! The wonderful ian durrant,
paul gascoigne, ronald de boer etc,
weren't terrific tacklers! A no.10's strongest attributes, has to be able to pass the killer ball, through the tightest and stubborn of defences, be able to score goals by being able to run beyond the striker or strikers and score goals themselves! IMO, that is the 3 attributes of a very good no.10!

Not one of those players was a number 10. Gazza played as a traditional centre midfielder, as did Durrant. De Boer started as a centre forward then became a right midfielder.

Totally disagree with you Theswagman 100%! Each of the players i mentioned could play the no.10 role with ease and did various times! Yes i grant you they could play and did play in other positions also, but my point being they all could play the no.10 role and did at times!

Ye those players could play no 10 and going back to McKay difference with him he use to pull out of challenges and s. t it good player but in end he didn’t want to be here.

Oops rangers have never played with a true ten,
We've had guys who could make a pass i. e. Gazza, luadrup, cannigia.
Only real ten in Scottish footy was moravcic.

I do agree with you Jboy21,that lubo moravcic, was a proper no.10!But my point with the players i mentioned was, that all these players i mentioned, undoubtedly could play the no.10 role, as well as being able to play in other positions!

apart from that didn't mckay want away. he wasnt consistent enough, put one hard tackle against him and his game was done, went into hiding.

McKays attitude is poor and as people have mentioned he is a sh*tebag. Capable of a few decent moments but not somebody i'd turn to regularly. I used to play 5s with him and he wasn't that impressive. He should have been ripping us to shreds but the gap wasn't that great. I know 5s isn't exactly competitive but someone who would eventually end up at rangers should still have been miles better than us.

Supercoop, you are very quite on Davis, recall you lobbied for him on here and even expressed disappointment we only have him for an initial 6 month period. Looks 2 yard off the pace.

I totally agree bankie that so far i've been disappointed in stevie davis! He does look a couple of yards off the pace, but i won't cast him aside as a bad signing or finished,
'till he's played a good few more games. Although underwhelmed by his performances so far, we have got to be mindful, that davis has hardly played any football at Southampton for months. I'll reserve judgement on him for now.

Supercoop I really hope you are correct but I fear he is well past his best. He was a naive nostalgic signing, at least we can let him go at end of the season.
