Just catching up on all the posts about Mcgregor.

I can categorically tell you all that he has the ball in his court. He can sign a 1 year deal if he wants.

I can also tell you 100% that he does want to coach. Whether that is now or in the future I don't have that info.

Someone also asking what is the point in signing him. Whether he is no1, no2 or even no3 choice keeper next season his euro status as homegrown helps us fulfill our euro squad quota. Having him signed up makes complete sense.

I seen all the debates about Rangers best keeper and for me it is between Mcgregor and Goram. Rangers have always had tremendous keepers during my lifetime and guys like Woods and Klos were outstanding but it is down to individuals opinion.

Also, it is my opinion that Mcgregor is currently still Rangers best keeper. Mclaughlin has done well but it is difficult to judge him as he's not had a run of consistent game time. If given that he may well prove to be worthy of taking over from Mcgregor but he might also make loads of mistakes. Nobody knows but I trust that what the coaches see in training every day is much more of a basis to form an opinion than any of us fans. If they think Mcgregor is still our best keeper then I trust them 100%.

1.) 08 Jun 2022 14:25:50
Absolutely Moc, Mcgregor is still our best GK and it makes sense to extend his deal.

2.) 08 Jun 2022 15:06:28
I hate this keeper debate, The Goalie is why I became a keeper, that and no outfield ability lol. He was simply the best I've ever had the pleasure of seeing in real life, and like you guys I've been fortunate enough to see a few cracking keepers.

Longevity wise, you can't look past our present No1, but for pure goalkeeping ability, it still has to Andy Goram.

3.) 08 Jun 2022 15:17:21
Sorry guys but McGregor no longer good enough. At his age and his fitness issues he cannot be relied on this season.

4.) 08 Jun 2022 15:35:52
Totally agree Bankie.

5.) 08 Jun 2022 16:04:45
An absolute no brainer that Davis and McGregor will be kept on - both will be coaches that are indispensable to younger players coming through and both will perform if called up in the coming season - 2 absolute class players and fantastic to have around the Club - both are Rangers through and through and that is what all great clubs need - great business by the Club ????.

6.) 08 Jun 2022 16:33:38
Fitness issues bankie?

7.) 08 Jun 2022 16:35:13
MacGregor has been a wonderful keeper for us over the years and for that I thank him, but now as he is getting on in years it is my opinion that by not committing to cross balls it is costing us points in the League, whether this is due to the aches and pains that he has been suffering from I don't know. We need a commanding goalie that is comfortable coming for crosses, I said before we lose silly goals to teams that have maybe 1 or 2 chances in a game which come from crosses which should be bread and butter for a keeper. my opinion.

8.) 08 Jun 2022 17:12:49
Who are these informants that pass around details of who and what the club intends?

100% true that 99% of these facts are bullsh*t and yet everyone is falling over themselves I say ‘I told you first’

Huge difference between a genuine rumour and a made up story or random guesswork - at least be honest

My take is that McGregor will retire but can’t quite make what is the biggest decision ever for him - no one has whispered in my ear, just my own thought based on watching, listening and reading. If I’m right or wrong I’m no better or worse that I was yesterday.

9.) 08 Jun 2022 17:22:36
McGregor no longer good enough? Did we not just get to a European final with that keeper in goals?

10.) 08 Jun 2022 17:40:00
Correct, orygbmb.

11.) 08 Jun 2022 17:49:23
Did we not just lose the league with McGregor in goals?

He’s been poor domestically because he’s unable to leave his line and with majority of the teams in the league they tend to target his weaknesses whereas in Europe his shot stopping is obviously called into action more.

12.) 08 Jun 2022 18:38:04
People say McGregor rangers best goalkeeper, he is officially unattached his contract ran out on 31/ 5.

13.) 08 Jun 2022 18:58:05
We lost the league with every player we have, does that mean they all aren't good enough CF5 because that is exactly what you have just implied.

14.) 08 jun 2022 20:24:41
still a fantastic keeper, but time is undoubtedly catching up.

15.) 08 Jun 2022 20:34:23
Ross County, Motherwell, Hearts, Celtic.

4 games off the top of my head were his mistakes contributed to us dropping points, I get every player makes a mistake but being a goalkeeper you can’t afford to make as many as he’s done this season.

16.) 08 Jun 2022 20:42:15
I think some have short memories and are being a tad hard on greegs ?.

17.) 08 Jun 2022 21:48:00
Copland what a ridiculous post why not get rid of all the outfield players then as well as we lost the league with them playing ?.

18.) 08 Jun 2022 22:15:49
It’s not a ridiculous post. In Europe he’s excellent there’s no denying it. Domestically last season he was very poor and that’s down to his weaknesses but in the past his shot stopping used to cover for that but him being 41 you can see he’s lost some that initial reactionary save we all know he had.

He’s the best goalie I’ve ever seen at us but I just think last season was a season too far, he was also persuaded to continue playing last summer so I think deep down he knows that too.

19.) 09 Jun 2022 09:35:58
It is easy to highlight games where McGregor has made mistakes since there are very few over a long and successful career. On the other hand, highlighting the number of times where his incredible sees have won us games, helped us qualify for the next round in Europe or helped us to secure league titles could fill pages.
I am not saying that he should continue to be our No. 1 Keeper but I will say that he is better than anything else we have at the Club at present.
For me we need a new, top class keeper, to follow in the tradition of top quality keepers that have been at our Club.
I just don't think that McLaughlin falls in to that category and I am genuinely concerned that if he is our first choice keeper next season it will cost us the league. I hope that I am wrong but he just doesn't inspire me!

20.) 09 Jun 2022 12:45:56
McLaughlins strengths suit the Scottish game we would be fine with him domestically.

31 Jan 2022 16:58:48
Here's a name for the striker we might be getting. Dwight Gayle. Just been told this by a client. I have no reason to neither believe him or not. Just a name that was put out there because he is leaving Newcastle.

MOCBear

1.) 31 Jan 2022 17:18:25
Rather go 4 kevin nisbit.

2.) 31 Jan 2022 17:26:53
Agreed I. N. T. R.

3.) 31 Jan 2022 17:39:11
Gayle is a much better striker than Nissy and would bag 30 plus up here. Hope it's true don't Rate nisbett.

4.) 31 Jan 2022 17:42:05
Others to consider:
Nketiah, Vydra, Tosun, Welbeck, Ayer. As they are all free in summer they would be within a lower price range.
If so Nketiah would be hardest to get but my personal favourite.

5.) 31 Jan 2022 17:55:44
Vydra a top player imo.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 18:10:55
Vydra would be good such a hard working player reminds me of Novo. Gayle is also good never been given a true chance in prem every time a team goes up with him rhey buy another striker.

28 Jan 2022 08:12:50
Another signing in the door today guys?

MOCBear

1.) 28 Jan 2022 09:03:31
Who’s it going to be.

2.) 28 Jan 2022 09:03:31
Am hoping for att mid that's in the starting 11 or impact player from bench.

3.) 28 Jan 2022 09:15:40
Rather worrying financially imo if we don't go and spend a bit. Even 3mill of the patterson/ gerrard money. Need to win this league hopefully were not just going to be taking kids on loan.

4.) 28 Jan 2022 09:19:05
Wilson did say what if we sold anyone, the money would be reinvested for new players, let's see if he means it.

5.) 28 Jan 2022 09:22:54
Surely a permanent signing (midfielder) has to be done this Window :)

6.) 28 Jan 2022 09:30:41
Bang on Paul, the board should hang they’re head in shame if they don’t reinvest part of the money they’ve generated. This is too big a season and although Celtic are very fragile they have improved.

7.) 28 Jan 2022 09:43:25
No point buying if there is no one at the table wanting to come!

I want a perm deal but it does have to be right for the club and not the player!

8.) 28 Jan 2022 10:16:45
Crystal Palace teenager Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.

9.) 28 Jan 2022 10:20:27
So a few of you think we should just go out and spend money for the sake of it. I would be happier if we don't sell anyone.

10.) 28 Jan 2022 10:23:55
Paul I agree 100%.

11.) 28 Jan 2022 10:38:38
Hang their head in shame 😂😂😂😂😂😂.

12.) 28 Jan 2022 11:00:49
No matter what happens in this window the board don't in any way need to hang there head in shame, oud board have season after season put in millions in soft loans, approximately 20/ 30 million according to my memory bank, we have a business model that we are following, its almost complete to be self financing, so whatever the board does i support with buying my season ticket every year and they are great stewards of my small contribution to our cause, this is a rumour site, sometimes it can get a little distracted, however GvB is still unbeaten, we have a great squad and its not that long ago i remember being humiliated by Celtic many times over a short period, so my fellow bears enjoy 55,bask in the glory and sit back and watch history unfold in our 150th year, watp.

13.) 28 Jan 2022 11:43:59
Definitely can’t spend for sake of it though one more real quality player could further freshen things up - if we don’t get anyone in as long as we don’t sell the squad is looking strong and team for parkhead could be stronger if we do get soutter and Jack/ davis is fit enough to start - meaning mcgregor, tav, gold, sout, baras, Jack, kamara, aribo, Kent, diallo, Roofe - arfield, sands, lund, Sakala, Lowry, bassey on bench - I think that is a good enough team to go there and win and with helander, Davis, morelos, balogun still to come back things looks good to me 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

14.) 28 Jan 2022 12:22:42
Only people are who should hang there heads in shame is the idiots putting daft post like that up.

15.) 28 Jan 2022 12:28:05
Hang their head in shame What a ridiculous comment .

16.) 28 Jan 2022 12:46:43
Agree with you GDOG, january is well noted for inflated prices and panic buying, no clubs want to sell their best players in january, but agents will try and offload their dross on to us, the club are on the track in my opinion, we have all our injured players coming back now, If a good player comes up at the right price then yes . go for it.

17.) 28 Jan 2022 13:01:14
What’s the point in all the soft loans and building the team to then miss out on the champions league money because we’re penny pinching in this window. We’ve sold players to reinvest, I’m not suggesting they put they’re hand in their own pocket but they must have a look at themselves if we miss out on the champions league money. Christ, they’ll need to give us more soft loans next season…. 😂😂😂.

18.) 28 Jan 2022 13:10:07
I always wondered what would happen if public figures took some internet peoples' demands seriously and actually literally hung their heads in shame. Like stood there and bowed their heads down. How would that help anyone even if they did it.

19.) 28 Jan 2022 13:15:23
A really think we need an attacking midfielder who can carry the ball instead of passing sideways or back to goldson need someone with imagination think dialllo on palate is a good signing whether he cuts it up here is another question, a think we need another striker tbh itten isn’t good enough roofe isn’t reliable enough, a would get souttar in to partner goldson going to the piggery next week a like Bassey but not a centre back for me.

20.) 28 Jan 2022 13:32:51
In no way should board hang Thier head in shame but all these people saying they have put all this money in yes but that's also an investment as the converted loans to shares so when we get back to champions league level their shares will go up and they will get their money back and possibly profit too, so I wouldn't be heralding them either but they are trying to be sensible. Happy we have diallo gives us the balance we need everywhere else is pretty much covered sure an attacking mid would be great but not really needed right now as we have gotten by for the last year and a half without a top one.

21.) 28 Jan 2022 13:35:04
loyaist - -agreed with your comments until the 'we have a great squad' bit.
its been clear to everyone the last 3 or 4 games -we do NOT have a great squad - most them were frees, bosmans, loans to buy, guys carrying injuries or this week teenagers?
i think we need to be expecting more this season of all seasons, the CL is make or break for us and we should be pushing the envelope a bit.
unforunately i think we are too late and any signings now would be almost a panic move
the likelihood of Kamara and maybe 1 other going gives me the fear as well.

22.) 28 Jan 2022 16:37:34
Agree paul, we've got nearly 17million in the last few months, not sure why we haven't spent some of it, especially considering how important winning the league is financially this year.

23.) 28 Jan 2022 16:54:49
Some people amaze me, if board had not fronted up with money we would have no club to support or a club that did not compete, get a grip of reality.

24.) 28 Jan 2022 17:18:23
Why is it worrying that we are not spending money? We are bringing in players of a good standard. We will definitely have paid a fee for the loan. I would rather we kept the Patterson money if our management team believe we can win the league. I personally think that if we have the talent in place we wait till the summer to bring in players. Better value and then there is a better market with free transfers.

25.) 28 Jan 2022 17:20:40
Just because we have money in our pocket doesn’t mean you have to spend it. Needs to be the right players at the right price. If the players we want to improve our squad are not available then we move on or go again in the summer.

Some people seem to be happy just to spend the cash.

26.) 28 Jan 2022 18:08:39
Go out spend money just because some punters demand it and end up with more benchwarmers and sub standard players, or believe in the process and the scouting department to identify players that will improve the starting eleven and add quality competition for places. Not to mention there's 4 or 5 first team players all just coming back. Lord have mercy.

27.) 28 Jan 2022 18:11:19
Aye you're right. Taking the biggest young talent at man United outside greenwood is rubbish isn't it? Let's us get a winger in the summer when the window isn't inflated. McAtee will be an 18 month loan then his contract expires. Imagine being raging we aren't spending mental money when aribo, kamara and morelos cost a grand total of 1.25m.

28.) 28 Jan 2022 18:13:33
Some say board should hang head in shame, how many still remember us going bust, or 80 million board members have converted to shares.

Without them we would not be where we r and won 55.

29.) 28 Jan 2022 18:14:33
Ridiculous. Don't forget King wasn't a one man band! The current Board were absolutely vital in chasing off Ashley, recruiting Gerrard and Wilson, restoring pride and delivering 55. Such short memories from some so called supporters.

Spending money isn't always the answer. If we spent money rather than promote youth you could kiss goodbye the £12m from the Patterson deal you so desperately want to see spent.

I have absolutely no doubt the Board will spend. but it has to be right for the club and our current financial state. Spending because the other side of the city is spending isn't our model and (I hope) never will be again. We have invested in wages, backroom teams, scouting, youth, the stadium and the training ground. these things promote sustainability.

30.) 28 Jan 2022 18:11:03
Loyalist 100% agree mate. Infuriates me when folk say about the board. They have plugged gaps, backed managers, we can't expect it to go on forever. Keeping aribo, kent, alfie, kamara, Goldson IMO is more important than just buying for the sake of it.

31.) 28 Jan 2022 18:13:13
We may have a model but we have waisted a lot of money. The last window it was mainly loans. The board have backed Gerrard let's be honest not all signings have been great. Of those singing how many have we sold for profit. Thankfully our players are retuning from injury. If we could offload our driftwood then maybe we could get someone in. How much has our board invested? And not loaned us? Then we can't buy players instead we need to pay them the loan back. Let's hope the boad back Gio in the summer not only if we win the league.

32.) 28 Jan 2022 18:20:33
So some posters want the shameful board of directors to splash out and put the club at financial risk? Seems to me they are being sensible although that may not satisfy the desire of many for new players in the door.

33.) 28 Jan 2022 18:51:48
Great reply 2blue. I don’t always agree with u but u have covered this very well.

34.) 28 Jan 2022 18:52:25
John25 I agree but can also see where other are coming from when you look at contracts running out how many are getting ready to leave might be best to get them in now to settle for next year especially if younger players doesn't mean we have to spend big transfer fees though plenty of decent players out of contract to be had.

I remember someone on here (I think it was Paul86) used to get good info on medicals being booked. Any news you can share re medical facilities being booked for new players?

Sorry Paul86 I thought it was. There was definitely someone who used to get that info and it was often correct. I'd heard a medical was taking place today but no name was given. Pretty obvious it was Diallo now. Delighted.

Hi allNot posted in a while but just watched that first half and felt I had to just come on and say how impressed I am with Lowry, Devine and King. All had great first half and looks like they will become more and more involved next season. Lowrys goal was class. Would love to see Weston come on even although big Cedric has done well today.

Thats us pulled out the Sydney Super Cup. I think it's really pathetic that some fans have caused such a fuss about this. No game against Celtic will ever be a friendly. It was another chance to put them in their place and to make 4m quid. I hope we have something else commercially lined up to replace the income we will lose. We can't just be saying no thanks to 4m quid. Short sighted from the fans who have kicked up all this fuss and tried to cause disharmony at the club.

It’s not about some fans causing the cancellation! I must be one of those fans although I did not cause any problems! I just didn’t agree to get involved with that mob, no matter what!

4.) 31 Mar 2022 17:08:26
Correct Yately 👍.

5.) 31 Mar 2022 17:27:13
Yately, do you have any friends who support Celtic?

6.) 31 Mar 2022 17:36:41
Don't want to be involved with that "mob".
But the same greeting fans who were against the Sydney Cup are all desperate for Semi final tickets against that "mob", are desperate for one of the 800 tickets for Parkhead against "mob" and would quite happily give that "mob" 7500 tickets for Ibrox🤦🤦🤦.

In Rome for tonight's game. Found a wee place that will show the game at 6:45pm local time and then a quick taxi to Stadio Olimpico to take in Roma v Vitesse. Hoping to see Doekhi in the flesh to see what he's all about. €17 for a ticket to tonight's game. They reckon it will be less than half full but still excited to see another Stadium. I'm a huge Inter Milan fan so hope for a Vitesse win🤭.

24 Feb 2022 22:43:01
Not looked at previous posts as just in from game. Barasic played really well in the first half but Calvin Bassey take a bow son. Brilliant at Centre Half and brilliant at Left Back. Other than the combined mistake against Ross County I think Calvin Bassey is in our top 3 performers this season along with Alfie and Aribo.

What a team effort tonight. Some will jump on Goldsons mistake but these things happen and he did well otherwise. Special mention to Lundstram who I've often said slows the game too much but the last 3 or 4 games he's been superb.

Bale is undoubtedly a great player as is Ramsey. Unfortunately both spend far too much time on the treatment table. If it was a possibility it would be a huge risk as it was signing Ramsey. Ramsey showed when he was fit that he was a class act but his spell with us would have to be described as a failure and I think Bale would be the same. I'd much rather keep Kent.

Don't think it's anything behind the scenes. It's the I'll judged fan pressure that will be forcing guys like Bisgrove out the club. Big big mistake over a "friendly". Sheer stupidity from the fans that are protesting. The Club1872 statement yesterday is clutching at straws and they certainly don't represent my view. From where we have come from to where we are now in every aspect of our club is remarkable and I commend the board and directors.

Gutted if true John. What a job that man has done. He has taken Rangers into a different stratosphere commercially. It seems like every week for the past 2 seasons a new commercial deal was signed. I've said before that I genuinely believe he has been one of the most important signings our club have made in years.

If he leaves I hope it is to seek better opportunities for himself and his family and he isn't leaving because of the pressure from fans protesting. Shooting ourselves in the foot as a fan group. I can't believe this is happening.

Loved every minute of it TT. Alex Totten was the gaffer for the majority of my time there. Different era to now but surprisingly Falkirk were one of the first clubs in Scotland to introduce dieticians and apply sports science. A lady called Pam came in and advised us on our diet depending on our weight and fitness levels. Alex Macqueen was our physio and he was some guy. Always looking to improve himself and bring new techniques and science into his physiotherapy. He went to Kilmarnock and then to his boyhood team the Glasgow Rangers before SG binned him. He was absolutely devastated.

I used to go back and do the odd bit of training with Falkirk even after I left and was attaining my coaching badges. that's how I got to know Scotty Arfield.

Great times and loads of characters in that dressing room. Scott Crabbe, Davy Sinclair and Ivo Den Biemen were all there. Ivo was a big serious guy but Crabbo, Sinky and Scott Mckenzie just ripped the utter p. out of him?.

Ian Mccall was my manager at Falkirk for the last 6 months I was there before he went to Dundee Utd. I really enjoyed my time with him and he had fresh ideas as a coach back then.

Dothebouncy- He was at Falkirk as a player long before he was my gaffer and it was then he apparently "did the dirty" in Stainrods shoe. It doesn't surprise me as even as a gaffer he always liked a joke and a prank but also knew when to knuckle down and work hard.
